cc_star Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 What's worse, bidding £1m for a non-league player, or them turning it down. Although they're quite rich so £1m might be nothing to them
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I wonder how many other Leicester fans have foxestalk and twitter open as well as ssn on the telly today.

21st Century Fox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 The Guardian are reporting it as West Ham and Southampton... 4.45pm: Big news in the north-west, where Fleetwood Town have turned down offers from West Ham and Southampton for their star striker Jamie Vardy.

Saxondale Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I must have fallen asleep this afternoon and had a weird dream that West Ham are bidding for every prolific striker in the Football League. It was fvcking strange.
kingfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 This is a positive to be honest. Shows we are still looking for players, bad thing is 1 million is a bit of a rip off for a non league player, I would push to £1.2 if not leave it.

Leicfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Shows the resolve of Fleetwood Town. They won't sell imo unless a loan back is implemented, the player will have to put in a transfer request ?
Leicfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 FLEETWOOD Town have confirmed Jamie Vardy will remain at the club for the rest of the season – whether he is sold or not. Chairman Andy Pilley says the phone has been “white-hot” with enquiries for the most sought-after striker outside the Football League. Premier League and Championship clubs, including Blackpool, are jostling to sign the 25-year-old, whose 21st goal of the season helped Town climb to the top of the Conference with a 3-1 home win over Braintree on Tuesday.. It is by no means certain that Fleetwood will sell ahead of next Tuesday’s transfer deadline – but if they do, Vardy will be loaned back for the rest of the campaign to boost the club’s promotion quest. Pilley said: “Several clubs have actually said they are prepared to loan him back to Fleetwood, so if we do a deal now, that is what will be happening. Crystal Palace and Southampton are the latest clubs linked with the Yorkshireman, signed from Halifax last August. “It’s fair to say the phone has been white-hot with enquiries from Premier League and Championship clubs,” added Pilley. “But no deal is done, and until any deal is done I don’t think it is right to comment on any individual club.”
Tielemans63 Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Seems unlikely that a Champ club would bother to sign him for £1 mill + and then loan him straight back. Doesn't make sense. Sounds like Mr Pilley is hedging hi sbets to me.
Guest shearfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If I was Vardy I would just hand in a transfer request, it's a no brainer non-league football or championship with a huge pay rise....
Leicfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If I was Vardy I would just hand in a transfer request, it's a no brainer non-league football or championship with a huge pay rise.... He might yet do that, 5hrs left to go. It doesn't mean it will be accepted though.
Soar Fox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Over a million pounds for a 25 year old non league player... No thanks
Bryn Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If Pearson rates him I'd take him and loan him back at this stage, if he's gonna be a,player let's get him in for next season. No loss really if he's that good, our squad depth is ok now.
