Here you go, Karl. My 4 1 1 3 1

It's still a work in progress. The idea was to get as much service as possible to a striker breaking from behind the opponent's back line but I'm still not satisfied with the amount of CCCs my striker is getting.

The AMR is set to cross little, dribble a lot and generally cut in to support the striker. I've got Vladimir Weiss in that roll at the moment and he's just scored four in my first five league games (five in seven including the League Cup.) The AML is more of a typical winger, I've got Tabanou there who's rapid and is bombing down and putting in a good mixture of crosses and through balls from deep. If the right winger in your squad is a better crosser than dribbler and visa versa for the left then just reverse their instructions.

I've got Verratti in the CM spot, Gago in the DMC (on a free) and Berty as the AMC. Ideally you want a better defender in the DMC spot than Gago but he's such a good player on a free transfer that I wasn't really going to say no - pick someone up that can tackle and has good positioning, fitness and anticipation though. Kara is a good option.

Want to iterate, this is a work in progress and I'm constantly tweaking it. I'm trying to develop a two-striker system similar to the one I had on 11 with Babacar and Hernandez, I'll pop that up once it's done along with a more rounded version of this.

(This tactic took me to 7th first season in the Prem and I'm currently sat 3rd in the second.)

Oh ps: Shouts were pass into space, work ball in to box and hassle opponents. I've just started to experiment with get ball forward but I'll see how that goes.

Finished 6th First season in the Prem, with a very very small squad, pretty much the same 18 man squad all season... Proud :)

Loved Kara in the last version, although I only used him as a DC. Looks even better in this one. I suppose WP is still a problem for him though. Is the two-striker system a 4-1-'0'-3-2 system? Using one currently (although haven't played for days now) with decent success. I'm also hoping to test an anchor-shaped formation, which oddly enough probably resembles your 4-1-1-3-1 system, just with WBs and three AMCs. Have only tried it in the friendlies and one cup game so far, but I don't think Konch and John/Lee are anywhere near good enough for it to be effective. The MC (playing as a BWM) wasn't that effective either, but obviously the formation needs much more testing.

Why not? His best position according to Terry Mcdermott. He can switch with Bottinelli at left back as and when too.

I just assumed he was natural at left-back. Haven't seen him play in any other position for Ajax or Denmark :dunno:

Don't know who to get, team is;

Kasper

Pants - Bamba - Mills (replace if possible)

Gelson

Cairney - ?

King

Beckford - Fierro

Any ideas?

In the Prem or Champo? Either way, I'd probably invest in a left-back. Sucks playing with 10 men from kick-off :P

I really cannot see the point in ever downloading someone elses tactics.

That for me just completely defeats the object of this game, it'd be boring as fvck downloading someone elses tactics, schedules and signings, that's just me though.

I actually agree entirely. But I'm happy to share any knowledge or information I have on the game if other people wish to use it.

At the end of the day, different people get different enjoyment out of things in different ways. Some just simply don't like what they see is faffing around with little details like tactics or training. Some people genuinely don't like that SI add more and more features each year to make the game more complex and to slow down it's game speed.

I'm the opposite, I love that stuff, I think Shen does too - we're two peas in a pod. But at the end of the day - different strokes for different folks.

Steam is starting to grind my gears. I currently cant get internet connection on my laptop and steam is trying to update so will not open even in offline mode, meaning no FM12 for me until i get the laptop on the internet again.

It's always when i want to play the game most (probably due to the fact i cant play it)

If I was 12 or was still at uni without a job I'd get more into the game but I don't have the time anymore. I just want to set up the game, buy the best players I can and then press space bar every now and then to advance the game.

Digne is my Left-Back

NB: Anyone suggest me some good coaches and scouts or somewhere to try and find them, thank you :D

Oh Lucas  At this point in time, I can't give you any good tips though. I've only played a month or so 'game-time', so can't really say who's good or going to be good.

I've noticed most of the coaches from FM 10 and 11 are still great in this one. Winsper, Rota, Lucassen, Bierhoff, Bisciotti, Prosinecki, Coton off the top of my head... Scouts should be very easy to find

None of them wanted to come, nice :D

What should I look for in a scout is it Judging Player potential + ability?

Yes, those are his main stats. Such a scout will give the most accurate reports. If you're trying to scout countries (i.e. your scout has to 'work'), stats like his level of discipline, determination and motivation affect the number of reports you get and the time it takes him to gather them. At least it used to be something along those lines. All other stats are pretty redundant

Darren Gibson on a free transfer - great dealing, 3 in 3 so far, all long range stunners.

edit: The **** - Vassell comes up and says he wants to leave, I offer mutual termination and he says he doesn't want to leave. Make your mind up boy.

Well... obviously.

Mutual termination means accepting less than his contract payout would be worth; you want to sack him he's going to make you pay it all.

He doesn't want to be released he wants to be sold, he wants assurances of football somewhere else.
