blueharmie Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 calm down ! we still have king in midfield and of course mr "pointer" wellens
5waller5 Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 It just gets worse by the day .... Wellens still pointing (oops playing) and an excellent player going off to play at a much higher level because NFP didn't give him the chance that he promised everyone. I'm becoming less of a fan of Pearson by the day.

Richard Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Getting rid of one unhappy, short term player with a high wage demand. Would you guys rather get rid of Wellens, King and Danns who are all slated by you lot and be left with another whole midfield to rebuild come the summer. You're all very good at slating every midfield player at the club saying "get rid, he's a fat lump of lard". we're never going to get anywhere when we're getting rid of anyone who's struggling, i.e Beckford.
5waller5 Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Give him time lets see who he brings in January then judge him when the revamped team are in action. Hard to be patient though isn't it? Most managers have a honeymoon with their existing squad (MON at Sunderland doing it right now) .... then they can build on the feel good that brings with their own injection of talent. I just can't imagine many good players wanting to come and play the mind numbing football we are playing in a poorly motivated squad that should be buoyant that a new manager has arrived!!! Jordan Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I think too many of you are making too many assumptions about GF and NP without knowing what really has gone on at the club. We don't know for certain whether GF wanted out, much less why. And we don't know the details and the context of Udinese's offer. And besides, even if GF WERE playing week in and week out--with all due respect--playing for Udinese is most likely still a more appealing prospect than GF's current situation. He may have left anyway. It just gets worse by the day .... Wellens still pointing (oops playing) and an excellent player going off to play at a much higher level because NFP didn't give him the chance that he promised everyone. I'm becoming less of a fan of Pearson by the day. This is probably a non sequitur.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I'll give Pearson until February for his new signings to settle in. But already losing patience,as Wellens plays every game like he can't be bothered, and blames others for his mistakes. Please Pearson drop him!!!!

The rest of our midfield are all too similar, I'm sure Pearson knows more than anyone that Wellens is faltering

BENTHEBLUE Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I will add my bit, as i rarely post at all but read a hell of a lot. I had the priviledge of witnessing fernandes play in two reserve games recently, For both i was in the staff changing rooms ( no not on the rob) in the second game fernandes was NOT scheduled to play and had been on what was described by a member of the coaching staff " a f**king 5 mile run this morning".. however after the run Fernandes requested to pearson that he played in the reserve match. Does that sound like somebody that didn't want to play for the club??? oh i almost forgot he also bagged four goals in that match all after " a F**king 5 mile run" I for one wish him all the best at udinese, it will be a good move for him and when he is playing european football just remember he was not good enough for us anyway! One more thing, Johnson was scheduled to play in the first reserve game but wasn't up to it. In my opinion that just shows the contrast between the attitudes of the two...
Corky Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 We might not have been able to keep him but while we had him I think we should've used him more. International quality midfielder with Premier League experience and can't get in the side? Something wasn't right. It's done now and hopefully we'll bring in players who will play.
Babylon Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 NP infuriates me for sticking up for golden boy Wellens the c**t over Fernandes not impressed at all. Do you know what infuriates me? Moronic fans jumping to conclusions. This is the same Fernandes that was regularly overlooked by Sven in favour of old Pearson signings. The same Fernandes that has been as inconsistent as the rest of our midfield. And the same Fernandes that said he regretted joining leicester and hoped to follow Sven out of the club only days after Pearson joined. Have people completely forgotten that article? He said he wanted to leave, and people wonder why he has been overlooked? And use this absence as another reason to slag off the manager and Wellens. Amazing. The only person to blame for him not getting a chance, is him for not performing and him for throwing his toys out when Sven left. Not Pearson and not Wellens.
Babylon Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 We don't know for certain whether GF wanted out, much less why. Look up the foreign press article. He clearly states he regretted joining and wanted to follow Sven out the club. The dates on the article are a few days before Pearson even arrived.

Salieri Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Won't lose any sleep over this. Despite what some might say I don't think his heart was really in it, particularly after Sven left. Loan players are always a gamble.
ithuriel Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Normally i treat press article's with a pinch of salt but if he did say that it would explain why he barely played since and why he is off so sharpish. He did do a few interview's when he first came here saying he wanted to play for Sven so it does seem very probable. Fact of the matter is no one here know's the full story but you get all sort's of rubbish ranging from the dark prince Count Von Wellens dictating what happen's at the club to Pearson favouring the tea boy over certain player's . Alway's make's me smile this favourites rubbish, in midfield he get's slated for picking his favourites, ( who Sven played in his first team,) whilst in defence he get's slated for not picking Tunchev whom he brought to the club over, St.Ledger, Mill's n' Bamba :xmasblink: . Maybe peeps should just chill out, wait until he bring's in fresh blood for Count Wellens to drink from and see if result's improve over the course of January

acooling08 Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Everyone is getting carried away. I was at Cov and Fernandes was a beast. But since then he faded a bit and wasn't that impressive in later games, hence why Sven himself dropped him. Good luck Gelson.
dave the caveman Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 the reactions here are mostly just the manifestation of everyone's fru stration, but it's still irrational nonsense. Fernandes didnt want to be here. NP isn't interested in players who don't want to be here, and nor should he. The reserve game wasnt fernandes trying to prove himselfnto np, he was more likely trying to prove his fitness to udinese while keeping himself sharp. he came here to get on board sven's gravy train. Now he's off. Forget he ever existed.

I don't disagree with any of that .... but watching our current midfield it's hard to not think he was worth a few starts to see if he'd offer some improvement...
