whitwickfox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I don't know why there is so much negativity on here.what did you really expect. We went from a pure passing side to a hoof the fecking ball anywhere. This is pearsons game how he likes to play, and that is why we have just about all his old players in th team week in week out. Just learn to accept what you will now get on the pitch , and then like me, you won't be so disapointed
ramadaone Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Agree - route one for us boys wether we have the players to do it or not
dog_4 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 the football was boring and crap under sven! there's no difference! hasnt got worse, hasn't got better

Just learn to accept what you will now get on the pitch , and then like me, you won't be so disapointed There was hardly any hoofing today except from Konch & Mills as they can't do anything different Time after time Wellens played balls down the channels which Nugent fought for, what should have happened when Wellens & Nuge combined to make this space in the middle should have been Sclupp or King making runs to fill it People are blind to their own prejudice to see what actually went on We were far from good enough, but lies & agendas will get us nowhere
lcfcsnow Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 the football was boring and crap under sven! there's no difference! hasnt got worse, hasn't got better Last season was fantastic, enjoyed the majority of home games and watching the likes of Yakubu, Naughton, Mee and Vitor. Now who have we got? All the Pearson favourites and drab football. It was boring under Sven this season though and whoever advised Sven to buy all these players needs sacking off immediately with the window reopening, but it has got worse as I knew it would. You only have to look at Hull's for and against when he arrived, a Pearson side that he spent a year putting together. The man hasn't got it in him to provide entertainment.
Sampson Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I honestly cannot say I saw anything like a "pure passing side" at any point this season. When Sven was here last season, we played some great stuff but this season nothing of the sort. I fail to see much difference in the style of play we have played under Pearson and Sven, it all seems to be based on either passing it back to Schmeichel for him to hoof a long ball forward or us passing it out to Konchesky or Gallagher so they can cross a ball into our attack who are entirely useless in the air. No idea what this passing game we supposedly played under Sven this season is all about, you must have watched an entirely different team to me.

But this good football was mixed in with militant, authoritarian, organised and rigid performances when needed. At the moment we look like a team capable of neither good, passing football due to a lack of movement, primarily from the midfield, nor a team capable of an organised defensive display as we play as a team of individuals, rather than as a unit. What would you rather have? At the moment, I'd go for points over the performances, because if you don't have an organised, effective unit, you have very little to form a basis from which to build. NP doesn't have the players to set up his team as he wants, certain players who were effective two seasons past, are now showing their age, and he has inherited an unbalanced squad of players from which to attempt to change fortunes on the field of play. Give the guy a break. Wait until the end of January and then we can reassess where we are.
James18 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 WE ARE BELOW BARNSLEY! I thought we were in a bad situation, but holy crap I didn't realise it was this bad. Something seriously needs to be done!!!
psychonaut Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 WE ARE BELOW BARNSLEY! Yep are bottom half of the table. 14th.
dog_4 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 fantastic last season! we won 2 in the last 14 games! we were poor last year! poor this season! the squads too big, full of egos! last time we were good was under nigel! when we used to sign quality young players on loan that we couldn't afford! we can now! was good that we played poor again today! it highlighted that the january transfer window is open! and we need to use it! hopefully reports of brady, koren and sharp are true! Gallagher koren king brady sharp nugent
jonlcfc1990 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I have never gone to see Leicester score 5 or score 10 tbh we have always been a good defensive team a good passing team and a well disciplined team but this season we haven't had any of that and that's what has got my goat at the minute. Having said that I'm sure it's just a rough patch and we will come out of this stronger
Corky Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 The football has been crap all season, not just since Pearson arrived.

Mack Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I would also back up those who have said here that under Pearson we dont play hoofball. All teams play direct now and then, and apart from the odd direct pass we are trying to play the game on the floor. If what you are suggesting was the case Steve Howard would be the first name on the team sheet. Under Sven we played a mass of pretty but pointless passes and would have the ball at time for 5 minutes and not even have a shot. IF Pearson gets what he wants from the transfer window I am sure we will be seeing two new wide men and a lot more passing wide and forward.
Happy Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Disappointment stems from a mediocre season so far, I know money doesn't guarantee anything but for the life of me we should be doing better.
Guest ttfn Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 The football has been crap all season, not just since Pearson arrived. It's been especially crap since Pearson arrived. I used to turn up for games under Sven expecting some entertainment. This season it rarely materialised. But under Pearson I come expecting a lack of imagination. I make a 200 mile round-tripfor every home game, but am considering cutting back for the rest of the season. It's too much effort for something which doesn't even hint at providing me with any entertainment. We're the laughing stock of the league. Being a Leicester fan at the moment is embarrassing. Under Pearson the first time round we had a team to be proud of and even last season we had a team of imaginative and exciting players playing attacking football. And now we have a stultifyingly dull team of mercenaries.

I have a similar round trip for home games, have done it for years, and I don't think I've ever felt as demotivated to watch a Leicester match. Even after we've been relegated before the end of the season and still had matches to play, games where we've been struggling near the bottom of this division, there was something in me that hoped and expected a decent game. But today was different. I just sat there, rarely got animated and accepted this is what was being offered right now. I don't like it at all but this season, given the hype, talk and expectation, has been a true let-down, poorer than the 04-08 era because at least then we had the excuse of little or no money. There are no real excuses for being 14th going into 2012.

Corky Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I will admit I didn't sing too often, booed Mattock once. If I'm partly to blame I can accept it
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 The football has been crap all season, not just since Pearson arrived. In fact, ever since Pearson got sacked two years ago, it's been a very odd period for this club. Should've never let him go, that move destroyed two years of team-building. Who knows what we could've achieved with Pearson and a proper transfer kitty instead of appointing Sousa... But that was two years ago. Right now, all these turbulences do nothing to help raise the profile of the club. You can have all the fancy schmancy like new pitches, new flatscreen TVs, Singha beer in the turnstiles or matchday shows in front of the stadium - when the football ain't right, it ain't right.

darko2k7 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 You know i have a feelin deep down inside me ( getting deeper with every 1-1 draw) that we will look back in May at this moment of a new year new hope where hopefully this was our lowest point of the season. To be forever known as the GREAT TURN AROUND, ! Iknow its hard to see this happening right now but i really do still have that foxes never quit feeling in me. UTF
