The Doctor Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 What an idiot. Not long in the new job and she comes out with something like that. I mean everyone has always known she's a moron but she should really try not to draw attention to it like this. aaah, but does she look menacing, y'know, in a comic book villain sort of way? That's the key thing we should be judging here.
Head Honcho Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Strangely enough Keith Vaz is perhaps the last person should be mentioned in the context of who's complaining to their MP but that's a different story. Bastion of our society Keith Vaz. Leicester people are so lucky to have him! Never been a fan myself, although i did vote for him in 87 but then I was never going to vote for Bruinvels!
Thracian Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 aaah, but does she look menacing, y'know, in a comic book villain sort of way? That's the key thing we should be judging here. Perhaps she missed her vocation and is best suited to pantomime.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Did we really need her to say this in order for everyone to realise she's a clueless idiot? I thought everyone knew. People of colour with a chip on their shoulder are as prejudice as any racist, whatever colour or creed.
Rocket-Ron Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Divide & Rule What Rubbish Perhaps she should have her constituency divided so I could keep a watchful eye over them all.
MC Prussian Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Is it a cause of "casual racism" or simply a case of a person (ab)using her position to speak her mind, no matter how right or wrong she really is? She protected by immunity by any chance? See, it's that simple.
21st Century Fox Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Love how the Tories have MP's like Nadhim Zahawi & Rehman Chishti doing the talking for them, just incase anyone else manages to put their foot in their mouth.

I suppose if someone complains to the police about the comments then they'll have to investigate.Wasn't that the case with Terry and Suarez?
z-layrex Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Typical Labour MP. That's all I have to say on her.
Guest Bilo Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Diane Abbott is a racist idiot. The fact that most of the power in 21st century Britain lies with white people is irrelevant in this instance; she has history of making deeply offensive racist jibes against white people, and is thus insulting many of her and Labour's electorate. The woman is a bigot of the highest order and her position has become completely untenable. If Ed Miliband has any intention of being seen as someone who is concerned with fairness and fighting racism over political correctness. Over to you Ed.
accessory Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Did any one even bother to read the conversation she had on Twitter? Thought not. The likes of Boris Johnson and Jeremy Clarkson can come out with all kinds of really offensive crap and you lot will happily tolerate it. Yet someone from a different race and/or gender makes a reasoned historical argument, and out come the burning torches and pitchforks. Foxestalk does politics like the Radio Leicester phone-in does football..

Guest Bilo Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Actually yes. As a standalone comment, it's pretty bigoted. In the context of the conversation, it's slightly better but by no means a sensible comment. Her long history of frankly racist comments is what condemns her in my eyes. The number of people clamouring to come to her defence on Twitter is more than a little nauseating to be honest, she's every bit as bigoted as any BNP or EDL member.
Head Honcho Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 There was certainly no past tense in any of her comments.

Show me the history of white people being enslaved for centuries, sent to concentration camp or denied basic human rights, If you or anyone else can't deal with black people in positions of power I suggest you fcuk off to a South African white enclave or the US deep south.
Head Honcho Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Judging by the response from trolls, there didn't need to be... I'm sorry but I fail to see how her comments can be defended.................are you really being serious?
I am Rod Hull Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Britain did used to have a policy of divide and rule, thats how we took over India, the middle east and most of Africa... divide et impera.
Guest Bilo Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 What bullsh!t.. Show me the history of white people being enslaved for centuries, sent to concentration camp or denied basic human rights, If you or anyone else can't deal with black people in positions of power I suggest you fcuk off to a South African white enclave or the US deep south. I'm sorry, but how the fvck dare you suggest I'm a racist for daring to criticise a woman WHO HAPPENS TO BE BLACK for being a racist? How the fvck dare you suggest I should 'fvck off to a South African white enclave or the US Deep South.' That is frankly the most insulting, ridiculous, moronic bollocks ever posted on here. Absolutely ridiculous bullshit. What this woman is saying is simple. White people are all out to get black people, enslave them, divide them and rule over them. We haven't developed our mentality since the days of colonialism. She's keeping the 'us and them' racist mentality alive by suggesting all of these. This isn't about our shameful history of slavery and racist foreign policies; because visiting the crimes of our long-dead ancestors upon us purely because we share the same skin colour is absolutely ridiculous by any measure. It's as racist as, I don't know, thinking black people are inferior to whites because white people invaded and occupied Africa in days gone by. Do you get it now? I have nothing to prove to anybody about racism on here; look at my views on the EDL, BNP or any other class of bigot. I just have the intelligence, evidently unlike yourself, to know that people with a darker shade of skin than myself can be bigoted fvckwits too. Revelatory I know. Fvck me sideways, and you think yourself the voice of reason!
21st Century Fox Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 To be fair the comment it originated from by Bim Adewunmi did have a point. Why is there always the need to differentiate 'the black community' and 'black community leaders', its not just lazy but also has the connotation that they're their purely for their links to the black population.

His point is indeed valid. The idea of a 'black community' is flawed because there are huge cultural differences that transcend shared skin colour. Much as there is no such thing as a 'white community' because the only thing an English person shares with a Russian is white skin and very little else. That isn't 'divide and conquer', it's reality.

Spoken like a person who has never been to either, that's the problem with leftists like you, you can't move on from anything, you are living in the past and your politics is based from that. You are like the forums own Billy Bragg who still thinks he is fighting Thatcher in 1981. What today should teach you is that white people can just as easily be offended by racist comments towards them and despite what your perverted self hating mind wants to think that's not going to change now. Freedom and equal rights for all means just that.

Quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever seen on this forum in 5 years. I don't see what Britain's frankly shameful involvement in the slave trade has to do with anything in the here and now. Abbott is a racist with a huge chip on her shoulder, but because she is black, it will be excused and forgotten.
