Houdini Logic Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Gallagher got back well tonight - he was constantly up and down the pitch, linked up play with quick one/two passes and even got stuck in (I can only remember screaming at him once for being a pussy!). The 3/4/5's are simply based on past performances, probably a steady 7 from me.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 10's all round! Job done night boys can forest turn the lights off on there way down to league 1
Guest MattP Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Quibble on that point, it shouldn't really matter. He'd clearly have been interfering with play when the ball came over and would surely have been considered active by any good linesman before Kasper had even touched it. Good point.
5waller5 Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 From the game .. Kasper 8 Konch 9 Superb energy throughout, he wants to be in the game so much he was virtually up front. SSL - 8 very solid, good performance Mills - 7 looked solid at times then had a period of 5 mins when he looked very sunday league. Peltier - 8 Back to his best LLoyd - 7.5 His pace create problems even when he doesn't get the ball, pulling players out of position to cover the space Wellens - 6.5 He did OK, still looks like we are accommodating someone that just can't run. Several times he just wasn't able to make the run that was obviously needed Danns - 9 EXCELLENT - work rate was tremendous, showed alot of quality too Gally - 8 decent performance and good use of the ball. I think it's just that he tries to stay on his feet when tackling not sliding in that makes him look a bit soft. Nugent - 9 Tireless, Beckford - 10 In the first couple of mins made a run to the corner flag to retrieve a bad pass and made the defender look slow and daft .... from there on in he was full of drive and showed that when he's motivated he's unstoppable. NP - 9 Was back to directing his team from the touchline, showed passion, picked the right team, the right tactics and the game was a joy to watch .... please let this be the new way we play. Florist - 2 .... wow they are bad!!!
kingfox Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Schmeichel 6 - Nothing to do Peltier 7 - Solid performance, defended and attacked well Mills 7 - Better than the weekend, made some good interceptions, but passing was still poor at times St Ledger 8 - Fantastic performance, seemed calm and composed tonight Konchesky 8 - Another consistent performance from him Gallagher 7 - Got his foot stuck in, a few shots aswell but not the best Wellens 7 - Solid shift, great first half bit sloppy in the second Danns 8 - Played very well tonight, showed what he is capable of Dyer 7 - Just ran at them all game, caused usual problems Nugent 8 - Worked tirelessly, great determination and effort from him again Beckford 10 - About fookin time!!!!!!! Subs Howard N/A Kennedy N/A - BUT little bits of him tonight impressed me, very decent player in my opinion.
Simmo86 Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Kasper - 6 Nowt to do Pelts - 8 Back to his usual self, cracking cross for the goal Mills - 8 Rock at the back, better passing SSL - 8.5 Solid Konch 8 - Boss Gally 7 - Much better Wellens 8 - Awesome when he plays like that! Danns 9 - Joint MOM, animal, getting the best out of him now Dyer 7.5 - Another great little performance from Lloyd Becks 9 - Wowza where have you been? Nugent - 7.5 Standard Da Nuge performance Subs - 6 for Kennedy and Howard Forest - 0 lol lol
Thracian Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Gallagher, Dyer, Wellens and Danns...it's quite amazing how many "crap" players who "should have been on their way" have suddenly become briliant overnight. I wonder if that says more for the opposition than anyone's absence or whether it reflects the lack of must-win pressure in the Championship. As for Forest how long is it since they've been this bad?
Bert Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 He was absolutely nowhere near offside. 1 He was behind the crosser 2. A defender was in front of him 3. Kasper tipped it to him Yeah after watching highlights I seen. The linesman certainly flagged for offside though, which is why I thought it.
ithuriel Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Can't slate any of them, in fact players that have been slated shone tonight. Only big Steve still looked past it but he did try and he did not pick up a yellow which i thought he might We looked like a team for once in a good few games.
Guest MattP Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Yeah after watching highlights I seen. The linesman certainly flagged for offside though, which is why I thought it. Sure he wasn't just signalling a goal kick?
flowwolf Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Excuse me but I thought this post was about Forest player ratings ? so far no buggers mentioned them ?
Leicester Lass Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 Schmeichel 7 Peltier 8 Mills 7 St Ledger 8 Konchesky 7 Gallagher 7 Wellens 7 Danns 9 Dyer 7 Beckford 10 Nugent 8
ithuriel Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Forest missed that sitter and a few other chances but we missed out on bucketloads too, that miss was exceptional though
Dan Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Schmeichel - 6. Made a good save but was pretty weak from crosses for me tonight. Peltier - 8. Covered the right hand side excellently, who was our right winger in the second half? Good assist and defended well, although I think even I could've defended their attack. Mills - 8. Solid, did nothing wrong at all tonight. St Ledger - 8. See Mills, takes risks though. Konchesky - 8. Extremely good yet again, how the fvck did them lot not rate this bloke, he's the best left back I've seen for us in absolutely years. Gallagher - 7. Not bad, decent delivery for once but all-round game pretty average, in all honesty. Danns - 9. Bossed it. He was extremely good tonight. Had it all. Wellens - 9. Him and Danns were a superb partnership. He won the ball often, played some far better passes, the old Wellens tonight and I loved it. Dyer - 7. Hides when we need him most but when involved, I was impressed. He's a very limited player but is very good at some things he does. Nugent - 8. Worked his socks off, ran at them very well again and had a great game even if he didn't score. Very impressed. Beckford - 10. Superb. He had improved in every single aspect and in-particular his finishing, he got the chances and took them, this is exactly what we've needed from him and I'm absolutely delighted from him, he just HAS to keep his feet on the ground, like the whole team do. Over-all, it's absolutely brilliant. I mean lets be honest, Forest were dire, but you can only beat what's in front of you and our approach was spot on from the start. They would've been turned over by Swindon, no doubt about it, there's always the league next year for that fixture. But we NEED to keep our feet on the ground. Whilst we've done very well tonight, I think most teams would've won that game, maybe not 4-0 but certainly with comfort. On the positive side, Pearson will NOT let them get carried away, I still feel we need signings, definitely on the wing, and whilst Wellens & Danns were fantastic tonight, I feel against Southampton they could well struggle, they're a very strongly built side, and they'll be in trouble I feel. We still need additions, but lets enjoy the night. The atmosphere tonight though - we were absolutely shit, complete and utter. We started off pretty well but as the game went on it got worse and worse, it didn't feel like a rivalry one bit, it's saddening really.
ithuriel Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 The atmosphere was decent, the ground was not exactly packed out where i sat i could hear plenty enough noise though hearing the forest fans singing stuff about their own team was funny
Dan Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 The atmosphere was decent, the ground was not exactly packed out where i sat i could hear plenty enough noise though hearing the forest fans singing stuff about their own team was funny It was shite for me. I know it wasn't the main Forest game of the season by any means, but how many teams are that quiet when 4-0 up against their supposed biggest rivals? Don't get me wrong, the place felt more positive than before and there were good moments, but noisewise, pretty disappointing for the majority.

reynard Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Schmeichel 7 Not a lot to do really but he made one great save and one flap. Peltier 7.5 A massive improvement on Saturday, Mills 7.5 I thought he did well and was calm in defence. Did his usual aimless long passes too much again. But some good no nonsense defending. St Ledger 8 I've been a critic of his in the past but if he wants to turn out and play like that each week then I'd keep him. He was very good. His short passing was spot on and I liked the way he would drop deep to receive a pass. Konckesky 8 An excellent performance. Some great defending and got forward with real purpose. Gallagher 7 So much better than Saturday. He actually looked like he wanted to get involved and some of his corners and crosses were quite dangerous. Wellens 8 Gave the perfect lesson to opponents of why you don't back off him and give him space. That said he used it well and was very positive throughout. Danns 8.5 A very strong performance with a lot of energy but also some good forward runs. Dyer 7 I thought he started very brightly and for the first half was good. I did think he faded later in the second half though. Nugent 8 Another tireless performance. Shame he couldn't have scored though as he could do with a goal. great run to create the second goal. Beckford 10 What can you say. Three great finishes and he worked the channels and chased lost causes. Was this an impostor or is it the real Beckford. I guess next week will reveal more. Should give him a lot of confidence. I have to say that some of these grades should really take into account the true paucity of the opposition.
Master Fox Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Steve Howard. He can hardly run anymore. I when somone played a through ball to him. It looked as though he was walking a long side their defender running for the ball
BrummieFOX Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Schmeichel 6.5 - Didn't have too much to do and wasn't asked to pull of one of his usual 'keeping us in the game' saves. Flapped at that cross a bit though. Peltier 7 - Looked a lot better and a few good overlaps. I have noticed that he seems slightly less willing to get forward though than at the start of the season. He checks back a lot more than he runs at the fullback, then plays it inside. Mills 7.5 - Pretty solid all game, not much got past him. Few wayward balls but overall distribution was improved. I think it helped having Wellens sat in front of him who came and collected it. St Ledger 8 - Very calm and composed. Didn't put a foot wrong. Konckesky 8 - A standard Konchesky performance, solid, composed and showing bags of experience. Pushed forward at the right times! Gallagher 7 - Another improvement from Sat. His first touch is sublime and always a threat from long distance. I just wish he'd get stuck in. Wellens 8 - This guy and Danns worked really well together. Wellens clearly doesn't have the legs to be the box to box player and I think too much has been asked of him recently, however with Danns ahead of him doing the hard work and closing down. Wellens can pick the ball up in front of the defence and spray it around which he did really well. When he is allowed to get forwards he played some dangerous balls into the strikers path i.e. into Beckford after shurgging off Greening (I think?) Danns 8.5 - Much needed energy in midfield, didn't stop harrying and used the ball well when he had it. Other than Beckford, our best player. Dyer 6.5 - Typical Dyer. Looks bright, very quick, beat his man on a number of occasions but very little to come from it. Though did put in a good cross for Morgan's own goal. Nugent 7.5 - Ran all game again and Forest couldn't handle him or Beckford. Probably deserved a goal. Beckford 10 - A hatrick and a brilliant performance. Ran his legs off, chased down players, actually passed the ball after beating a man and his movement was very good. 3 great finishes as well! His chip over the keeper was just lovely. Let's hope he keeps it up. So pleased for him and great to see the fans appreciate him as well.
C.J Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 I thought Gally should of stopped the cross which lead to that miss, instead of pulling out like a girl.
paddy Agyemang Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Danns in the middle is dangerous, his desire to get on the ball and win it back is spot on all we need to do now is show this performance on Saturday and break their play down and move forward quickly
Corky Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Schmeichel- 6 (One save, hardly anything else to do) Peltier- 6 (I like him, just wish he'd put the ball in the box more) Mills- 7 (Largely untroubled, looked to pass it) St Ledger- 7 (Very assured) Konchesky- 7 (Typical Konch) Gallagher- 7 (Much improved) Wellens- 7 (See Gallagher) Danns- 7 (Keep him in the middle, far more comfortable) Dyer- 7 (Dangerous) Nugent- 8 (Worked hard and won the flick for Beckford's second) Beckford- 9 (Brilliant. Sharp, determined and clinical) Nottingham Forest- 0 (They are going down, without a fight it seems)
