hackneyfox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 No 2 players seem to divide opinions more than Abe or Wellens. Just thought we'd see what the general consensus was. I've voted YES for both of them. I said sometime ago that I'd happily see a whole new midfield. I count Danns as part of the new midfield.
Topman Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 40 a week is what stringers said, i don't take notice to what he says since he got me excited with numerous signings that we made. And off course he got it all wrong
acooling08 Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 40k a week??? Voted no but very happy he's gone if that wage is true.
yag101 Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Would be delighted to see Pearson pack his bags...
Walker Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Abe- Adds nothing, just a workhorse. Just a (really) poor mans Park Ji Sung. Wellens- Can control a game if the rest of his team are up for it. He was taking the piss out of Forest last Tuesday, everything went through him. He's an extremely influential player and one we can/should be keeping hold of. Ridiculous criticism hurled his way this season.
ajthefox Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 It's a shame that Abe has left but I don't think he's a great loss. Wellens has been poor of late but he can still pay a part for us. All in all not too bothered either way though.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 When will people realise that when someone is out of form, it is a temporary thing and that they dont need to be sold....? Wellens, King, Gallagher and Beckford have all been below standard this season but doesnt mean they are suddenly not good enough! Form is temp, class is perm! Andy King is an academy product who's clearly suffering with confidence which, ultimately has not been getting the best out of Wellens. So instead of constant abuse etc, lets support them and get behind them. On his day Wellens is one of the best centre mids in this league, just because he's slow doesnt mean he's 'past it'

Wherethefoxhat? Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Not glad Abe's leaving. But if he's not comfortable here away from his family for long periods of time, then I'm glad we haven't stopped him. Equally glad we haven't had a Tevez scenario on our hands. I'll miss him and welcome him back should he ever return. I don't wish Wellens would leave right now, but I think he will in summer. How old is he? 31? Depending on how he plays til end of April, these might be the last few months we see of him in a City shirt. But no, I don't wish that he'd leave. Yep 31 !! Same age as Steven Gerrard !! Same age as Steven Gerrard !!
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Yep 31 !! Same age as Steven Gerrard !! Same age as Steven Gerrard !! Very true mate.. How old was Shaun Derry when he led QPR to the league title last season? 33/34? Wellens isn't 'past it'... But I again say the time could be right for him to make his final move. It would make more sense to us though if this were at the end of this season. We're too depleted in the middle now to let anyone else go IMO.
demon_dog Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Cant help but feel sorry to see him go to be fair. Some of the performances he put in in his time here (Whilst not speaking a word of the queens at times) were pretty damn good. Grafted and wanted to get stuck in for the most part which is more than can be said about a lot of others. Cheers Yuki, and all the best

They so want to be careful what they wish for ........you never know what you have until it's gone !
MrSpaM Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Wouldnt really wish either of them to leave (Even though Abe's gone now), just wish we'd get some better players in and use players like Wellens as backup instead

One word - no, two words, plus two more words - Wellens shit, Uki underrated.
Saxondale Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 What about King, I know there's no rumours of him leaving but there seems to be plenty of fans that wished he would. Problem is who'd want him based on current form? A season or so ago I was frightened that one of the big clubs was going to nick him from us. I personally think he can get back to his best in time. Unfortunately, if he keeps performing like he has been, he won't be given the time.

burni Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I liked Yuki and he was fairly decent. we were never going to make him our main man though which he would need to be to really see his best. Good luck back in japan not a bad word to say about him always gave his best!
Pub breath Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Lots of tittle tattle about Wellens being swiped by Grayson (cue lots of people saying "you can have him"). Anyone see any truth in it?

cc_star Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Lots of tittle tattle about Wellens being swiped by Grayson (cue lots of people saying "you can have him"). Anyone see any truth in it? No, none We only have 3 fit CMs at the club, we won't be taking that down to 2, the only way he'll leave is if you see us signing someone else to play there, if we do then it could be on. Would happily sacrifice a CM for Snodgrass though

Would happily sacrifice a CM for Snodgrass though Nah, i'm not convinced about it either. To be frank, i've always liked him when i've seen him but he's getting on a little now anyway. Experience is good but once you get to 31/32 as a CM, your days of influencing games are numbered. I'd love to say there's no chance of you getting Snoddy but the way Bates seem totally unable/unwilling to hold on to any of our decent players, nothing would surprise me. I'd be gutted if he leaves but you start to learn to roll with the punches after you've been hit with as many haymakers as we have
