Jace Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Delfouneso should be able to play, Villa are out. Ideal I didn't realise that would mean he would be eligible, my mates who are Villa fans reckon he's quality anyone know if the loan has been extended yet?
AyewJoking Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Quality being kept out of the team by Agbonlahor, Heskey and Keane!
dannythefox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 I'd have thought anyone semi-intelligent poster would understand the point but I guess I can elaborate for you. We play two games in a week, some players are seemingly uncapable of playing 2 lots of 90mins in such a short space of time (or at least playing all out for those 90mins). So I was asking what you and the rest of the good people here on the city board thought about resting a couple of players from the Watford game to be sure that they could put in a full stint during the FA Cup match. I was quite aware of Danny and Delf which added to the reasoning that they would definitely play the whole match against Watford. We could also play Hopper and the other couple of youngsters there (unless they were going to figure in the Cup game) so that Nuge or Becks up front and others could be sure to get over any small injury niggles from the satdi match. Is that clear for you Danny? I was at no time suggesting that I thought they should or shouldn't I was airing the question for discussion. Many people could be of the opinion that a better chance of winning in the Norwich match is worth "resting" a couple of players in the Watford match (which comes so quickly after the Norwich match). It wont happen Pearson wont rest players were scraping the barrel as it is with the midfield and strikers.
Guest Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 we have some good young players that should be played - ideal opportunity
Captain... Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Watford is Tuesday, so we have enough time between matches, there is also nothing like winning a couple of matches to get your spirits up, if we can beat Cardiff and Watford it will give us a massive boost going in to the Norwich cup game. I know what you are worried about though, we can't win 2 game sin a row so sacrifice the Watford game for Norwich, but don't worry we only can't win 2 games in a row in the league we do it all the time in the cup.
cc_star Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Players don't get tired when they're winning games, only seems to affect them if we lose or there's blips in their form.
BrummieFOX Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 In my opinion we have absolutely NO chance of making the play-offs. That said, it would be career suicide for Pearson to rest players in the league for the FA Cup. I'm pretty sure the owners wouldn't stand for it. It's worrying how many of our fans seem to think it's an achievable task to reach the play-offs just because we are 7 points of with 50-odd points to play for. That's just naive, there are 6 other teams in better positions and 2 in the same position. We'd pretty much have to go on the best run of results this league has ever seen to make them. I'm an optimist really and I'll still go into each game with hope, but I think we need a bit of realism at the KP. The expectation is why we boo if we're not winning at half time. To rebuff my pessimistic post, I'm going to stick £10 on us to win the FA Cup and the Play-off Final.
Happy Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 I may be the only one but I genuinely feel we can win the FA cup, long shot but certainly more achievable then getting in the playoffs and winning them.
Libertine Dream Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 No, what we should do is concentrate on winning every game and giving us a sniff of the play offs. Got more chance in both competitions if we find consistency. It will only take a couple of wins in the Championship to het right back in there again.

This is the type of thinking that I don't understand. If we win our next two league games we have 45 points from 31 games that would likely move us up 1 place to 12th. That is not "in there" it still means we have to do BETTER than at least half of the teams above us (who have all done better than us so far). It is much easier to drop down the table that to move up it. We could be in 6th on goal difference with 3 games to play, win every game and still not make the playoffs. I REALLY want us to make the playoffs and the Prem but that is so improbable that I'd be happy with resting a couple of players against Watford in order to do better against Norwich.
Tommeh Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Some of us have since day 1. Cup > league all ****ing day.
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Simply think Pearson will continue to field his strongest team in every game The problem is it ain't that strong. We will do very well to beat Cardiff tomorrow, they are a good side at this level And beating Norwich in the cup would be one Hell of a feat.. They will think they have a chance of winning the competition.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 We'll win tomorrow, gve everyone hope and cock up again, its what we do.
Voll Blau Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Sad how folks are more bothered about promotion to a league where we'd be charged close to a week's wages to get into some away games, where we'd be at the beck and call to the whims of the TV companies and where, in all probablitity, we'd spend a season getting battered of the park most weeks. Football is meant to be about trying to win silverware isn't it? Maybe I'm just old fashioned. By the way, if you are more bothered about the league than the Cup and are off to Norwich next Saturday, can I have your ticket instead? It's just I've been to all the games in the run so far and I'd quite like to continue attending the only games (bar derbies and decent aways) which make me enjoy following City in the flesh anymore...

I can promise you every supporter on this forum wants Leicester to win the FA Cup but at the same time we are not going to stop supporting Leicester in the League if Norwich beat us
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 We should focus on winning each & every game we play
Voll Blau Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I can promise you every supporter on this forum wants Leicester to win the FA Cup but at the same time we are not going to stop supporting Leicester in the League if Norwich beat us Eh? Where did I say you should?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Focus on the F.A. Cup. The league is as good as over.
Guest Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Well we got a good win in the league today but we're still 7pts outside the playoff zone and the 6th team have a game in hand. It'll be interesting to see what team is put out for the Watford game.
