Guest Col city fan Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 No I don't, that's the point I was trying to make when I put "no idea what happened, but still". No-one on here knows EXACTLY what went on or was said (with the exception of maybe one or two, and I doubt they'd post it on here) so to call Pearson wrong or humourless without any real evidence is pretty pointless. But you yourself said he should 'lighten up'? Was that said tongue in cheek then?
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 It was Ah... You're wit is too sophisticated for me then I need to stop watching re runs of Black Adder and 'Only fools and horses' and start viewing more subtle comedy..
Stevie Synex Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Pearson's so miserable and should lighten up. I've no idea what went on but he needs to have a laugh and take a joke. Have a laugh and take a joke - why not?! He has a multi million pound consortium employing him with limited patience, due to the incompetance of his predecessor, and a number of inherant problematic players he is attempting to manage whilst meet the growing expectations of the clubs massive fanbase which grows with every goal, point and league victory. Take a few days off Nige - where's the fire??!!

Mack Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Sounds like a Whitewash job to me. Anyway, time to move on.
Happy Fox Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Mills must be incredibly stupid, you don't take the piss in front of the management, NP has every right to give him the cold shoulder, even an apology won't make a difference he needs to work his bloody ass off in training and what not and improve his attitude ,though that may not be easy as his ego is too big.
Guest Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Heard a rumour that we're going to swap him for Suarez.

Pearson does'nt rate Mills and actually tried to off-load him in the Jan window, but their were no takers .Draw you're own conclusions as to why . That was even allowing for the fact that we were going to be without Bamba for a while & the reason we bought Morgan . It was only a matter of time & now Bamba's back...............
Fox92 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 If this is true, and he has done something in front of our manager, then my estimation of Matt Mills, our "captain", has dropped even more. Will he write his usual programme notes in Saturday's matchday programme?
StanSP Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Its supposed to be quite funny, Pearson clearly didnt think so Clearly pearson cannot handle the banter What's supposed to be quite funny? You know what Mills said? You morphed in to a fly on the wall while their altercation occurred? Or you've just jumped the gun and thought Mills said something jokey, when in actual fact none of us know what was said, or at least a very small minority may do. I have no idea what he said, but from what I (and most of us) know about Pearson, is that it takes a lot to get him going and for it to end up like this, something more than what's usually perceived as 'banter' must have been said.

Happy Fox Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Mills : NP you are a f**king nob for not picking me I am the bloody captain don't you know. NP : You What? Wellens : You what, you what, you what....
TrentFox Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Different perspective coming up. Anyone else remember when Leicestershire CCC had Phil DeFreitas and Jon Agnew throwing each other's clothes off the balcony after one had tipped salt all over the other's lunch ? I'm going back a long time. Apparently, you could cut the atmosphere in the changing room with a kinfe for weeks after. It also was the catalyst for one of the best 'consecutive wins' period the club ever had ! Sometimes, if managed, such a situation can really focus everybody. I don't think this will happen, (and I'm not informed enough about actual events to suggest that it should, anyway), but what would be the likelihood of MM putting in an MoM performance against Cov. if selected ? Maybe being the player he shows glimpses of potentially being able to be ??? (I'll go and make a cuppa whilst the MM haters sharpen their axes) !!
Saxondale Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Will he write his usual programme notes in Saturday's matchday programme? These will be written by Pearson in conjunction with the club's PR officer, who will toe the party line and just keep it all 'business as usual'.

So what you are advocating is that Nige drops either St.Ledger or Morgan, following great performances recently, in a bit of reverse psychology to try to get the best out of a player who he probably doesn't rate very much anyway? Well that's different, I'll give you that... I'm glad I don't work for you though.. I think my morale would be thru my boots.

He did say he doesn't think it will happen, and was only suggesting what would happen IF MM was selected for Saturday. In my opinion, there's no point changing the defence of SSL and Morgan, whatever the possible circumstances. They are clicking just as well as Beckford and Nugent have been doing at the other end of the pitch (I know you won't like me saying that, Col City ).

That's because you rate Morgs and Sledger higher than Mills, and you're probably thinking of their morale and not Mills' morale. We have 4 games in 10 days coming up. I think rotating the squad to keep things fresh is a reasonable tactic, what do you reckon ? Mnaging the footy tem is about results. My first concern would be the points total over and above any individual. Clearly the two are linked, but that's the conundrum of great man-management .....otherwise any bozo could do it, surely ? Thoughts ?

Are you referring to the same Jermaine Beckford who doesn't appear even in the top 25 of this seasons Championship goal scorers? That 'Ace Marksman' who cost a few mill quid
Babylon Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 I think i'm going to have a shot at making something, up here we go. After the Watford game Matt Mills blamed Peltier for our performance and slated him. Players such as SSL stood up for Peltier and he and Mills almost came to blows. Pearson took sides with SSL and Peltier as Mills's performace was so bad he had no right to be pointing fingers. That prompted SSL and Peltier to take to twitter and post: SSL: "not gonna lie to ya absolutely fuming and gutted @Pelts_86" @Pelts_86 "chewing" SSL: @Pelts_86 u did well though kid!
Jace Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 I'm assuming this probably happened after the Norwich game before Mills was excluded from the squad as he was on the bench against them so Mills attitude towards Pearson was probably quite bitter against him for being dropped when any comment was made. Maybe it was more personal than light hearted humour hopefully we will find out some more details soon!

And I don't give a toss about Mills 'morale' If Mills were considered by Nige as the best we have he probably would have taken less of a stern stance. It seems obvious he doesn't. Nor do I
