Matt Posted 16 March 2012 Author Posted 16 March 2012 C'mon Kauto, Please, one last time for old times sake. Also gone with Synchronised as an E/W bet. So sad to see Kauto pull up, but Synchronised! Yes! Fancied Synchronised a few weeks ago and should have backed him think he was about 16/1, Oh well, Synchronised made back the money I lost on Kauto plus £10 profit, which makes it £90ish profit for the week.
isaidno Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Had Synchronised. Picked the gold cup winner last year aswell
Bluefoxtim Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 All my hopes rest on a victory for Chapoturgeon at 4.00.

FantasticMrFuchs Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Had a couple of EW bets on this race and managed to recover my losses for the day
Matt Posted 16 March 2012 Author Posted 16 March 2012 Well another year over, always sad, love Cheltenham, absoloutly love it, and at the end of every festival I seem to say the same thing - I want to go next year, no-one I know is really that into it though, I tell them even if your not into it, go for day, the event, the atmosphere, still they don't see the appeal. Another great year, although think there have been better years, personally it was all about the Thursday the other days (Apart from the Gold Cup) I could take or leave, that said I still got involved and bet on the races. Sad to think there will be no Kauto Star next year but atleast there will be more of an open market. Onto next year.

I'll have no problems if you want to come along with me. I'msingingtheblues in the next, I've regularly tipped it up on here and it's a good each way bet in the next.

Head Honcho Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Only race I'll manage to watch live this year is the lucky last today at 5.15 so having £20 on Slieveardagh at 10/1
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 £38 up today after Ataglance came good, Poor day overall though.
Ric Flair Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Absolute bloodbath for me today, massive losses. Mate had £25 e/w on Attaglance and £20 e/w on Bellvano, I want to cave his face in.
Simmo86 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Had 3 places today, disappointing though was hoping for better. Lost about £30 over the week!
Guest MattP Posted 17 March 2012 Posted 17 March 2012 Just got back absolutely fantastic week as usual. Got a 25-1 winner on Friday then decided to lob a grand on Kauto...ouch. Such a shame to see him finish like that though the crowd was surreal. Applause broke out and he got a standing ovation while the gold cup was still going on.
Teeno Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Amazing week, best Festival yet!!! My liver is giving me some grief now though! I managed to come home on Saturday morning with notes in my pocket, so I'm pretty pleased with that. Roll on Aintree...

Did a final count today, about £800 up....... would have been far better had this hit....
General Smuts Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 I feel your pain. I put £4.00 on that ****ing horse. That 4 pint of beer on certain student nights.
Guest MattP Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 I feel your pain. I put £4.00 on that ****ing horse. That 4 pint of beer on certain student nights. It was all bookies money anyway, I had planned to put all profits on him but when I counted up on Friday morning it would have been daft to waste the whole lot on him. Can;t wait until next year, there is no place in the world like Cheltenham on festival week, everyone is just absolutely smashed.

I love every second of it and spend most of the year counting down to the week! It's hard to explain the buzz of being there, at the course and in the town at night without someone experiencing it for themselves. Is it just me or are you on a massive downer now as well
adam1 Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Apparently I had 50p on Edgardo Sol and Boston Bob at e/w. EDIT: Edgardo Sol is my biggest win so far at £4.63. I had an ew with Edgardo Sol. I was very annoyed. I kept getting outsiders finishing second. The winner was on my short list but was swerved due to the stats for that race (age and weight). Did a final count today, about £800 up....... would have been far better had this hit.... I think Kauto would have easily won that race. He would have been lengths in front of Long Run who I think has been found out. Kauto jumped the first few very well and was travelling nicely. Apparently he over stretched on the water jump and ruby felt that something wasn't quite right. Fair play to Ruby though.

He comfortably wins it doesnt he? Easily beats a horse like Syncronised. Glad they pulled him up though, not about money, safety of the horse is paramount and that goes x100 for Kauto.
