General Smuts Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 2 out of 2 for GYTO.. He buggered me over on Sergeant Guib's but he's 2 from 3 for me.
City_4_Life Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Great race that. So unlucky Albertas Run great run again. Also brilliant ride from Geraghty, Riverside Theartre never really traveled, but he stil got him up to win, him and Henderson have been on fire.
adam1 Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Alberta's Run wins me another £1.63. Lovely stuff. Though I have Riverside Theatre in my placepots I had VLV on an each way. Who didn't have an each way bet on Albertas Run... I had a small win bet on Riverside Theatre as well. I also got hold of a free £1 bet (I don't buy the sun but I got hold of a voucher) which went on Riverside Theatre. I'm next in Leicester on Saturday so thats about 1 1/3 pints of guinness for free....
City_4_Life Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 GET IN BIG BUCK'S!!! What a horse this is, great champion foolish to doubt.
adam1 Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Voler La Vedette @ 18/1 EW @ 1/4 1-3 GYTO? No adam1 is where its at. Had a speculative ctc and cfc with oscars, big bucks and voler. Looked like the tricast was coming in at one point.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Typical roll my winnings onto Oscar and he fvcks up
Maybes Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Fantastic race from Albertas Run. £5 e/w at 10z was handy.
adam1 Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 3 horses in this. Niceonefrankie ew Cockney Mackem ew Giorgio Quercus ew
Wycombe Fox Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 3 horses in this. Niceonefrankie ew Cockney Mackem ew Giorgio Quercus ew Not forgetting the one that won
Bert Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 What is meant by 'being ridden along'? When the jockey is having to work hard on the horse to keep up with the pace. I think.
Wycombe Fox Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 When the jockey is having to work hard on the horse to keep up with the pace. I think. Cheers Bert.
Ric Flair Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 £325 back from Albertas Run. I'm proud of the old warrior but part of me can't help but think 'what if' as i'd be now looking at nearly £1500 in my bank account. Big Bucks bought me in another £80 and I had £10 on Sir Des Champs so it's been a good day. Taking my stakes back to normal for tomorrow as the festival draws to a close. Just found out i've got a ticket for Chelsea on Sunday as well, so i'm buzzin!
adam1 Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Not forgetting the one that won never back the favourite in a race where no favourite has won since 1999, and only two faves have won in the past 40 odd years....
Maybes Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Was that all the favourites that won today? Was that all the favourites that won today? Peddlers Chase in the first of the day didn't. Finished 8th .
Bert Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Few of the papers will more than like have free bet offers tomorrow for in shop. I brought 3 suns today just to get the free £1 bet went to 3 different ladbrokes and had a 50p e/w bet on a big prices horse in a race that paid 4 places. If you've got the time to do it it could be money for nothing. The mirror might do one tomorrow too, the sun most certainly will do. If you've not got an account with Stan James, sign up tomorrow and use the promo code 'mirror' and register a debit card and you get a free £5 credited within the hour. Every little helps.
Matt Posted 15 March 2012 Author Posted 15 March 2012 As usual my Cheltenham started today, seems to always go right for me on the Thursday and Friday of the festival, every year - And long may it continue. Won about £60 today, Thanks to Sir Des Champs, Riverside Theatre, Albertas Run (I bloody love that horse - If only it had won), and I didn't do a stupid, stupid bet on Big Buck but after being up I decided to put £25 on Big Buck's the fact the odds were drifting on him made me think he was backable (Only just though) although did put more doubt in my mind on him, and i'd say he was challenged for once in his career. I also picked out Sunnyhillboy - Which I meant to bet on, I forgot, so slightly gutted about that as I would have put £1 or £2 E/W on him so would have won me atleast another £10 (Maybe more if I decided £2 E/W) but seeing as I had a good day anyway can't complain too much. Goot good feelings about Kauto Star tomorrow, Might just be for sentimental reasons but really hope he wins, really hope.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Was at the course today and come back rather disappointed - what shit choices I made! The first - Sir Des looked terrible in the parade ring, not interested at all, but we saw him go out to the track and he had that look in his eye. I'd backed Peddlers Cross because a mate was banging on about it and it was too late really to go with a late Dutch. Second race - bollock, time form had it in their race card - disappointed by the Hillsofinusch he's better than he showed. Third - I've read the Jimmy Nesbit story in the racing post beforehand and think at that point I should back it. Comes to the race, reads it jumps right - balls to that on a left handed track I think. The missus suggests Noble Price, looks good, so I have him and of course obligatory bet on Albertas. Well Noble Price decides to jump right all the way until being pulled up and Albertas runs a blinder, I felt so proud of him even in defeat as if he was my son. He was tiring before the 2nd and I thought he was going to get swamped, but he plugged on and even pulled away at one point but the Cheltenham hill was just slightly too much this time. The 4th - Big Bucks, 4/5 on course - you made bookies I walk a stack on him in a confident mood. The Mrs keeps banging on about Oscar Whiskey, I like this horse too, soo decide to chuck £80 on him via my phone at Paddies. Now beforehand I had told myself not to do this because if he does go for the win, he'll cut his thought for a place in doing so if he fails - bugger, should have listened to first instinct again! 5th race - the Ms suggests Pipes horse at the top of the market. All week I've been watching his horse trying to make all and then fading down the straight so suggest against this one. Suggest Niceonefrankie (poor) and the Cockney Mackem as alternatives. She plumps for Nicholls and Walsh's horse with my money - bugger. Lucky last time - check price wise and case for Sunnyhillboy is tempting but it's form figures look ugly. Also think, run of favourites, time for a 20-1 plus priced horse to come in. Pick some shit thing I don't care about, but then I think 13/2 for Sunnyhillboy Boy - should I chuck £200 beans on it to win from my PP account. I'm loading up the site, but struggling with shit all signal and the Ms wants a £7 burger so we go over there, spot a couple of mates and get chatting - race starts before I'm able to place my lunacy bet... I then watch with hidden disgruntlement as it cruises up the hill to Irish cheers and bookies groans. The bookies get a pasting and I miss it - bollock. Off to study tomorrows cards now, hoping for better luck.
kingfox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Last day tomorrow so I will be betting again. £5 to win on Moon Dice in the 2.05 County Hurdle, and Cloudy Lane in the Foxhunter chase. Both at decent prices, then might have an E/W bet on Midnight Chase in the Gold Cup.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Won't be betting today could of been 50 up but my winnings went on Oscar EW and he didn't place Clawed it back by putting 2 £5 on the favourite in the 16:40 and now im 20 up and calling it a day. Any Leicester fan should think Fox appeal in the 13:30 is worth an EW
