vandamman Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Although not on this list, Brendan Rodgers in my opinion is a fantastic manager, with links to Chelsea, who would be a cheap option of Roman is finally fed up with spending millions on big names. Whilst he wouldn't cost a lot, what is the point of sacking a manager (AVB) who was young and largely inexperienced at Chelsea's level to replace him with a manager who is also young and even less experienced than him. AVB is clearly a very good manager due to the way in which he went about winning titles with Porto, no doubt in that but perhaps he was naive.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/17950830 Next Chelsea manager? Former England manager Fabio Capello wants Premier League job Fabio Capello wants "one more challenge" before retiring and is keen to take charge of a Premier League side. The 65-year-old stood down as England manager in February and is now looking to get back into club management. "England would be very interesting for me because I know very well the teams and the players," Capello told the Times. Capello's record in management 1991: Appointed head coach of AC Milan 1992: Wins first of four Italian league titles with Milan 1994: Milan beat Barcelona 4-0 in European Cup final 1997: Wins Spanish league with Real Madrid 2001: Guides Roma to their first Scudetto for 18 years 2004: Wins Scudetto in first season with Juventus 2007: Guides Real to La Liga during his second spell December 2007: Appointed England manager 2010: Takes England to the second round of the World Cup 2012: Resigns as England manager "I want to manage a team that wants to win something, if possible." Capello has already turned down offers from abroad, with the former AC Milan manager prepared to bide his time for the opportunity to manage a top English side to arrive. The Italian appears to have narrowed down his options by suggesting his focus is solely on a club who are capable of challenging in the Champions League, as well as for the Premier League title. "It has to be interesting based on the value of the team, not money. I don't work for money," he added. "I want to manage a team that is able to play in the Champions League and to fight for lots of trophies." Meanwhile, Capello has backed the Football Association's decision to appoint Roy Hodgson as his successor. He said: "I've known Roy since he was coaching in Italy and I have met him often in these last few years. "I believe he is a very good and experienced manager and he is a very good choice for the England national team. I wish him all the best for the future and Euro 2012."
21st Century Fox Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Plus he wouldn't have to bother brushing up his English.

Hollism Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 could see him replacing Dalglish. How can even Abromovich not give Di Matteo a contract now?
stix Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Di Matteo must be given the afformentioned(sp) '10 games'. FA Cup & Champions league finalists, with a top 4 finish virtually out of the window when AVB was ousted what more could Roman have realistically expected? The squad seem to be much more of a unit now than ever this season.
Jaspa Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 could see him replacing Dalglish. How can even Abromovich not give Di Matteo a contract now? Hes not really in full charge of the team m8 Player power annexed AVB, and as soon as he left the players banded together and they started to perform again. Its so blatant, IMO they need a big name to control the team & Capello suites that perfectly
Mack Posted 5 May 2012 Posted 5 May 2012 This is the most tricky job in English football right now. You have a core of players ... Terry, Drogba, Lampard etc that have been Chelsea for the past decade and hold huge influence yet are ageing and must be phased out whilst not rocking the boat. Di Matteo has thrown all that out of the window and re installed them at the helm of the club, and whilst that has worked a treat for the last 1/3 of the season whoever takes over in the summer will have to try once more to tackle this problem. AVB showed it's not an easy task, and I dont honestly see Di Matteo being the man to tackle it. Capello is a dinosaur of a man when it comes to man management and would piss them all off inside a week, so that's a wrong move. Guardiola is out of the frame as he wants a rest. Teams seem to win in spite of rather than because of Benitez, he's hardly had a long queue of Europe's finest at his door since Victimpool. For me there is only one man who could do it... Mourinho. But he says he is staying at Real.
Fox92 Posted 5 May 2012 Posted 5 May 2012 Mourinho or pep must be the only options! Moyes has done a great job at everyone but think the step up is too big. Surely they won't go for Cappello! Too big? Really? I can see him replacing Alex Ferguson, I know he is favourite to do so... Moyes is a top manager. Everton are a big club, and a club I like, but I can see him leaving for one of the "top" teams eventually.

Don't think he'd leave everyone for such a risky job with a owner that has a reputation for sacking managers for fun. I agree that moyes is a great manager and think he should get the united job when it becomes available
foxfanazer Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Di Matteo signs a two year contract at Chelsea. Fair play to him, he deserves it
