Mack Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 What a bunch of armchair whingers. Not one from Manchester. All sat indoors with a TV dinner and some cheap vino then ring up the moan in to slate Ferguson.. "This is the worst Man Utd team ever" "We've got no midfield, Fergie hasn't got a clue" "I know we are only 2 points behind but you may as well give City the title now" "Sack Fergie get Mourinho in" Absolutely embarrassing, these people are not football fans.
Corky Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 If we lost at home to Bilbao I'd call for the manager's head. But we drew with them ten years ago so I could cope with that.
StanSP Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 They can have Howard. That'll sort them right out. Although, they do already have one Howard...

It may well be the worst team in living memory. Certainly mine. I wouldn't say that's an exaggeration. Teams have to go through transition, you'd have thought any Man Utd fan would realise that.
purpleronnie Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Certainly one of the weakest utd sides for a long time.

Teams have to go through transition, you'd have thought any Man Utd fan would realise that. I don't think anybody would deny that this is indeed a very average Manchester United side in comparison to those that have come before it from the past couple of decades. But as you say, its certainly one thats in transition (like all of the English clubs it seems this year) and with quality investment, could easily be a major force to be reckoned with again.
One Arm Babba Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 I went to it. God damn awful game. Rooney was appalling. It was quit funny being in an executive box with a gang of united fans.... Only 1 from Manchester. And he put a fiver on Bilbao winning 3-2 he got £255 back. 50-1 I was pissing myself.

It looked a cracker on the telly, end to end, Bilbao are a quality team, love their recruitment policy, they only have players from the Basque region in Spain.

Ultra Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 I went to it. God damn awful game. Rooney was appalling. It was quit funny being in an executive box with a gang of united fans.... Only 1 from Manchester. And he put a fiver on Bilbao winning 3-2 he got £255 back. 50-1 I was pissing myself. Still scored twice. Wish our players could be as bad as that and still find the net. Ferguson got what he deserved by underestimating Bilbao. La Liga is currently way ahead of the Premier. But as weak as Manyoo were, their neighbours were equally unimpressive in Lisbon. I suspect title number 20 may be on its way to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Didn't watch the game but they said they had no midfield? Park, Giggs, Jones (who is a center back but can play in midfield) and Young? Man United have a good team if there all fit, not been there best this season but still 2nd in the league! After all Fergie has done for them and they say sack him? Bloody morons. He will never get sacked though, I think his aim was to overtake Liverpool' Premier League titles and now Champions League but can't see them doing that.
Ultra Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 In fairness to Ferguson, the Glazers have tied his hands behind his back when it comes to investing in the squad. Paul Scholes came out of retirement for a reason. The fact that United are in contention for a title this year, with Vidic crocked, no proper right-back and both Evra and Ferdinand in decline, is a clear sign of the weakness of the so-called "best league in the world".
munf1987 Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Utd are in trouble for next few seasons. Scholes and Giggs still run that team and they depend on these 2 way more than they should. Yes they are both still great players but with both soon to hit 40 in a few years. How long have they really got left in the game at the top level. If i supported Utd i would be moaning but i wouldn't be calling for the managers head. All clubs have a group of these moron fans

It's regarded as being the best for more reasons than the English teams performances in Europe this season. Despite the general mediocrity though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient
Bert Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Think Bilbao aren't getting the praise they deserve. 5th in La Liga (?) and in the copa del try final? Played some good football and deserved the win. Even if their 2nd was offside and they shouldn't have had a free-kick which lead to their third. Still, the penalty gives United some hope.

They played to their style and it looked tasty. They deserved to win they outplayed out classed and outsupported Manchester united in their own ground. As for the fans? We all have "Fans" Like that quite a few will be forgetting their comments this week when we beat Chelsea
Mack Posted 9 March 2012 Author Posted 9 March 2012 I'm sorry but anyone who doubts Fergie and his abilities to rejuvenate Man Ure into a major force in European football is an imbecile.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 I agree but every fan base has their idiots and usually the idiots are the first ones on the talk shows moaning. There second in the League still in Europe and have a smoother running than city till the end of the season..
Ozwin Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Bilbao were an absolute breath of fresh air, much like Porto all last season. Purely interested in attacking and playing good football, they're 2nd goal, albeit maybe offside, would have been spoken about for weeks had van Persie scored it. Brilliant.

Purely interested in attacking and playing good football, they're 2nd goal, albeit maybe offside, would have been spoken about for weeks had van Persie scored it. Brilliant. This. And I also thought that they were excellent defensively when it was needed, some of the tackles were perfectly timed, Javi Martinez looks quality at centre back, absolutely massive. Also didn't spot any theatrics, diving or rolling around which was good!

There second in the League still in Europe and have a smoother running than city till the end of the season.. I bet they have more pricks supporting them than any other club in the Country. They have been the most successful of the recent era and must have hundreds of thousands of glory hunting plastic cock end fans just waiting to buy a man city shirt as soon as the balance of power tips over in their favour.
Mikey Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 One bad season in Europe means nothing. 3 finals in the last 4 years? As has been said anyone who doubts that Fergie will make them a force in Europe is downright stupid.
lcfcadam Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 I went to it. God damn awful game. Eh? Was pretty phenomenal on TV - end to end, frantic and frenetic, lots of quality play, great saves, not too much in the way of diving or rolling around injured Bilbao are a quality team, love their recruitment policy, they only have players from the Basque region in Spain. That recruitment policy also seems to include only signing the most handsome players available. Will certainly try to catch any Sky games they're involved in in the future...
