ScouseFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I said sometime ages ago (I think it was November/December time, possibly Peterborough at home?) that as much as I'd love him to stay, because he is actually good, there isn't much point. Fans have decided he's shit, Pearson seems to have long ago decided he was shit, and playing for us he looks pretty shit. It hasn't worked for him here, partly due to some of his own actions, also massively due to how shit the rest of our team has been this season, and I'll stick my neck out here and say it never will work for him here. A shame, but we'll probably see the end of him in the summer.
ScouseFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Re Beckford. He is being slated from most corners quite unfairly. He's almost too good to play for us. I watched him, just him for a few minutes today, "playercam" styley. He's always on the move, always looking to go in behind, pointing where he wants it, losing his man. And we have Richie Wellens on the ball. So we ignore these intelligent, threatening runs and movement, stand still for a bit, slow everything down until Beckford's marked by two men, knock it back to Kasper, he smacks it up to Beckford and we all f and blind at him when he loses a header and looks pissed off. I'd be fukcing furiously pissed off if I was him and had to play with this uncreative, unintelligent joke of a midfield. Give the lad a break, if he doesn't get the right service what the **** is he meant to do? I still agree with myself, not gonna lie.

cc_star Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 4 goals in 27 or summink That's piss poor whichever way you add it up, the effort is rarely there either. Disgrace! Couple of good performances like Ston away, but he's here to score goals, but he rarely if ever gets in goal-scoring position & when he does they're never on target. After the cup game where he seems to give a shit, I wouldn't even play him & I hope he's 1 of quite a few out on his ear in the summer.

A shame, but we'll probably see the end of him in the summer. This forum and most of the matches I've been to home and away don't back up what you are saying. For the past few weeks on here, if not longer, most people have given him all the chances he needs to develop into the 'clever striker' you purport him to be. At the games, he seems to have built up a rapport with the fans and has saluted them on many occasions. So I've not seen what you're seeing and as usual, think you are talking nonsense. He's been pretty useless all round, accept it and move on.
Tielemans63 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Why not try something different completely? He would get alot of respect from the fans if he tried something like this. Schmeichel Pantsil SSL Taft Kennedy Bamba Marshall King(when fit) Schlupp Nugent Hopper I've seen George Taft play 10 games for Kettering this season and trust me, he is not ready for the Championship yet. I'm not saying he'll never make it but IMHO he's got a far way to go and he prob isn't ready for the first XI yet. I see what you're saying but I think that team would get gubbed. I would like to see what young Hopper can do though.
Kitchandro Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 He does have potential and I want him to succeed. But he's just not got going properly. Take out the FA Cup games and his goalscoring has been woeful. Even with them he's been woeful if we're honest. He needs to work harder and improve his first touch. These are the things that most frustrate people aside from finishing. If you aren't scoring you can still make up for it with hard work and general play. For a while at least. He was sort of doing this for a while but his last couple of performances have sounded shocking. At the moment I think he should be dropped. But not for Howard. In the long term, he needs to have a really strong end to the season to get people off his back for a bit. Then if he starts next season well who knows. The problem is he's just a bit thick. His decision making has always seemed to be a problem when I've seen him, and he can't seem to grasp that not trying won't solve his problems.
ScouseFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Schlupp 1 goal in 13 games (including sub appearences in the league) slightly better than Beckford then. haha! terrific stat! Can all ye Becks haters who want him replaced by Schlupp because strikers are fer scoring explain yourselves immediately. Thanks.

Thanks. How many of those games have been short sub appearances though? The point is if Beckford is playing shit he might need dropping. Schlupp is unproven but he's looked promising to me.

He scored a hat trick against a shocking League 2 side, and a tap in against an already beaten Derby. That means if we play him over Beckford we'll win the league? Let's not be silly. I like Schlupp as much as the next man, but Beckford >>> Schlupp, right now.

My shout Jason Roberts would have done nicely. Unfortunately Pearson trusted him to do a job and may live to regret that decision. I think he is doing already.

King, Schlupp and Marshall in midfield? Right.

Not sure if you actually did or it's just one of those bullshit things people say when some random player hits form.

We were supposedly linked with a striker? And I said I hoped it was Roberts. Anyway, don't matter now does it. He would have joined us and been crap anyway probably..

To be fair there's a few that have come up trumps, Nuge, Schmeichel and Konchesky. Another 3 of those in the summer and we've got 6 really good first teamers. I know it's not always as simple as that but it can be done. I'm looking forward to the summer now.
cardifflee Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 howard is shit fact i have said this before why why why is he still here? he scored some good goals and important ones too but thats the past and not now bye bye steve and thanks for the memories
mhs123 Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 beckford thinks he is to good for Leicester it is obvious in his body language to him he is doing us a favour and just turning up and pocketing a reputed 30k a week,he will be sold in the summer to a team that goes up to the prem, mark my words on this one.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 haha! terrific stat! Can all ye Becks haters who want him replaced by Schlupp because strikers are fer scoring explain yourselves immediately. Thanks. I've not called for Schlupp. Fact is I think we only have 1 competent centre forward at the club at the moment and we should adjust our tactics accordingly. But even if we continue to play 4-4-2 we were far better in the second half both today and at West Ham when Howard was brought on at the break, and he's been ready for the knacker'd yard for 2 years. Throw in the fact that Schlupp is a young player looking to improve his game, whereas Beckford (27?) has "peaked" and it starts to become clear that we have several preferable options. Today was the 2nd time I can remember this season that Beckford has been replaced at half-time. What's more it's happened under 2 separate managers, both of whom got sick of the spineless displays he was producing and hauled him off. Throw in substitutions before the hour at Bristol City and West Ham (I won't count Hull as that wasn't his fault) and it's apparent that this is a guy turning in repeatedly woeful displays, irrespective of the transfer fee paid.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I think he'll be off in the summer, its just not going to happen for him at LCFC.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Lately he has been playing like he did at the start of his time here. Hasnt really put in a decent performance in away from home yet and Saturday reminded me of west ham away where he also came off at half time. Isn't looking all that great lately and if he doesn't improve very soon i hope we get rid of him in the summer.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 He will be gone in the summer and if i'm honest, we won't miss him, we need someone who will work for the ball just like Nugent does
lcfc matt Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 ****in typical I get a city shirt for my birthday with beckford on the back of he leaves I'm stiffed can u get the number and letters off and have them redone or am I stuck with it
acooling08 Posted 12 March 2012 Posted 12 March 2012 Ahh Beckford. First he was hated, then he was getting better, then he was good, now he is apparently hated again. I like Beckford although admittedly I haven't seen the last 2 away games where he supposedly was poor.
