Ian W LCFC Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Who do you prefer? Personally I prefer Gallagher as he is a better technical player and has a bit more experience But next season I think Marshall will be the preferred choice as he will have settled in probably by then, and will start playing to his full potential.
Finnegan Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall by a stretch. He strikes me as a young player that needs to settle and bed here a little, grow in confidence in this division and take a little pressure off of himself. But I think there's glimpses of quality and pace there and he puts in a lot more running than Gallagher. Gallagher takes a reasonable direct free kick and is capable of a few wonder goals but for every tidy performance there are four or five ****ing awful ones. I hope he's not anywhere near the starting line up next season.
Ian W LCFC Posted 16 March 2012 Author Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall - but who takes the penalties? Definately not Danns!
Finnegan Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall - but who takes the penalties? Surely Beckford has a big enough ego for a penalty? There's nothing technically amazing about Gallagher's penalties, he's just got unwavering self belief and belts it.
foxesfan1989 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Gally! The guy gets goals. Marshall looks a decent prospect but so far hes just done enough. Nothing exceptional.

Simmo86 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall, as Finners says lad needs games and time to settle. But as he hasn't already scored 15 goals he's been written off by 99% of our moron fans!
Ian W LCFC Posted 16 March 2012 Author Posted 16 March 2012 IMO Marshall just needs to put in a good performance which will get the fans to support him, and then we will see the best in him! Hopefully anyway...
Lobsterboyuk Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall is quite young though - I think there is more there and I deffo think a good spell in the first team will bring him on rather than warming the bench
Jay Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I prefer Marshall myself I think he gives us a better balance as a team, his corners at Norwich were pretty impressive as well. As for gallagher 1 game in 5 he is unplayable and a total game winner on his own, trouble is the other 4 he's rubbish can't head, can't tackle not disciplined enough and his corners are absolutely crap on a regular basis
Dan Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall. Gallagher - I want him to succeed, I want him to be a key man for us as he comes across as a pretty good person to have at the club, a character, but unfortunately he's so limited it's untrue. He's not a right winger, at all, he can't beat a man, he can't tackle, he's weak, he's slow. He can take a good set piece every now and then and even more occasionally a good corner, but on the whole I think we really need to be doing better. Marshall - Struggles to make an impact, but at least looks like he'll actually go round players and get in behind, his corners are better and he has age on his side too. Sheff Weds fans on Twitter all say he made a similar slow start there, once his confidence rises then so will the standard of his performance. I've been disappointed but I've got faith in him to perform, I know the Owls fans are pretty arrogant at times (come on) but he clearly was good for them if they're all that certain in his ability, he's not became bad overnight.
Fox92 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Gallagher has one good game in about 7 games and isn't good enough. His set pieces are not as good or as consistent as what people make out.
jag-02 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall - just needs time to find his feet. Gallagher lacks a defensive side to his play.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Marshall by a stretch. LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 marshall all the way. gally has no pace. ill give him that he is good at dead ball situations but thats about it.
Out Foxed Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 if he struck them like he does his shots from outside the box we'd have no trouble. edit. the ones where he gets his head down and goes through the ball, not the ones where he leans back and side foot skies it.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Gallagher. This is not the game for Marshall. Gallagher rarely makes an impact in open play but at least there's the prospect that he might. Marshall has been completely ineffectual from open play so far (great set-piece delivery though). Maybe next season Marshall will be able to show us what he can do. The club's biggest game in 2 years is not the time to be "giving him a chance".
MrAus Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I'd go with Marshall, especially against Chelsea! Seems much better defensively, something we will be doing alot of on sunday i think!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Horses for courses Gally has got his attributes, dead ball specialist etc etc Marshall is largely one for the future but i would think he will play more and more next season
FrankieADZ Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 if gally had a bit more pace...he'd be in there all the time for me.
Karljohn Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I rated Gallagher in his first season with us, now I can help thinking he's a poor mans Beckham, wont tackle, cant head it, and only a threat from dead ball situations. On many occasions this season he's looked unfit after spells out of the team but when he scores, he usually bags two in a game and has that ability to score goals like he did against Palace, The tenacity seems to have gone out of his game. On current form Marshall nicks it for me, personally thought Gally looked short of match fitness against Brum.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Gally's done years of service for LCFC. Marshall's just got here.
LCFC_Bradders Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Whoever tracks back better for me, Ashley Cole will be getting forward all day long so they cant leave Pelts/Ledge exposed
