Blackpool (A) - Pre-match thread

Team news ahead of the Championship clash between Blackpool and Leicester at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday (8pm kick-off).

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is set to have a full squad to choose from when he looks to break his duck against former club Leicester.

Holloway shuffled his pack to recall Neil Eardley, Keith Southern and Kevin Phillips as the Seasiders banished back-to-back defeats with a 3-1 win over Brighton, with the latter bagging a brace.

If veteran striker Phillips or Gary Taylor-Fletcher - recently back from a knee problem - are rested, Roman Bednar and Lomana LuaLua could come into contention after appearing as late second-half substitutes against the Seagulls.

Saturday's victory moved Blackpool back into the play-off places and Holloway needs to taste victory over a club that sacked him four years ago to maintain their promotion push.

"I've not had any luck against them so far - we've lost every time we've played them," he told the Blackpool Gazette.

"But it doesn't mean any more to me because it is Leicester. I wish nothing but the best for that club because the fans are terrific and they deserve success."

Leicester midfielder Paul Gallagher is a major doubt for the Foxes trip to Blackpool.

Gallagher suffered a twisted knee during the 5-2 FA Cup defeat to Chelsea and was replaced after 43 minutes. Manager Nigel Pearson admits they do not know how bad the injury is, but the Scottish international will be monitored before the game.

"We don't know yet the full extent of the injury," Pearson told Leicester Mercury. "He has twisted his knee so we will have to look at that and assess the squad to see how we set up at Blackpool now."

Ben Marshall, who scored a sublime curling effort at Stamford Bridge, will be hoping his cameo substitute appearance at the weekend will be enough to earn him a start, should Gallagher not make the squad.

Manager Nigel Pearson has indicated Neil Danns is also a doubt and will be assessed before the game.

Midfielder Andy King (heel) is back in training but is around two weeks away from being fit enough to play again.

After the scores tonight, this game has become bigger than it was IMO.

Blimey!

Hull, Brum and Leeds all losing!!

Shame West Ham ain't beating Borough though ...

im afraid we will get beaten 3-1, we cant defend at the moment

Nor can Blackpool, they've conceded more than we have although scored more. It could be a high scoring game this for a change instead of the usual 2-1 or 1-0.

After tonight's results, a win would put us back in contention for a late charge. It's definitely at the point now though that we cannot afford to slip up even once more to have a hope, even when so many teams around us like tonight have dropped points.

Off subject yes but how bloody well have Peterborough done this season!

Just beat Reading 3-1 tonight!

George Boyds a player I've always liked.

What about this playing this- Play three centre backs, no wing backs. So Play a 3-4-3 formation

Having- Morgan, St Ledger and Mills at the back.

In the middle- Wellens and Danns

on the wings- Dyer and Marshall

upfront- Beckford, Nugent and Schlupp.

what about this?.

i hope we do, i pray we do, we need to thats for sure . . . . . . but ultimately you know we will lose this one, its the Leicester way

I hate to break it to you all, what with the sudden resurgence of hope, but we won't win this match. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get a point.

I can't help but again rue all the points we've dropped to shit teams like Bristol City throughout the season. I told myself I wouldn't worry as I thought the season was over.

But then..five points from POffs if we win! Come on! We can do this! Can't we? Beckford to go on amazing streak?

Surely Danny the drink must start . Wellens is wore out , tired , and recapturing his "Sven " form of a few months ago , weve gotta win & we wont if Rickie Wellygogs starts

Another 3-2 loss, it seems to be our favourite scoreline away from home.

I refuse to get excited about this season unless we win this, Hull and Forest.
