Kitchandro Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Just seen the highlights on SSN, definite red card I'm afraid, no complaints.
halferowley2 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Enjoyed the game today, once we settled down if we had won 3-1 or 4-1 would not have flattered us to much. Seem to have become a team at last, difficult to name a MOM. Nice to hear our support still singing after we went a goal down. Dull fans went very quiet after be drew level. I think ref had a fair game pity about the Danns incident but I dont think the ref can take the blame but again it did get the crowd going and I think that reflected to the players. A good afternoons entertainment in the sun.
Tielemans63 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I was sat directly in line with the halfway line and it looked like a stonewall red from where I was. Even though the Hull player got up for a split second I thought Dannsy was going break his leg pretty badly.Haven't seen it on SSN yet but it seems it was a bad one.
ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Also, interesting point I noticed. There were more players in Hull's starting line up who played for us last season (2) than there were in our own, (1). Apparently stability is the answer to promotion...
Yojoe36 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Bloody hell Danns. Seeing the replay has changed my mind. Our discipline this season has been shite.

There were more players in Hull's starting line up who played for us last season (2) than there were in our own, (1). Apparently stability is the answer to promotion... Great fact. I wonder if that has ever happened before with City? Or even in this country? So it was a red card then? As I say, watching it in real time it looked like the Hull player launched himself at it in exactly the same way - I'm not sure any of their players even appealed for a foul. That said, if he went in two footed he deserved to go. Those are exactly the sort of tackles which need eradicating from the game. Be committed sure, but be responsible.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 On another note, I was disappointed to hear Fryatt getting booed before the game by a select group of fans. He was a good servant for our club through some of our darkest times, and with the hindsight of us having won, I was glad to see him score today. Classy finish.

I'm a qualified ref and I'd have sent him off. You just can't "jump into" a tackle these days, and Danns did that. As soon as he charged at it, I thought he'd be in trouble, and the ref went straight to his pocket, he wasn't influenced by player's reactions. And yeah, agree about Fryatt like I said before. Left not of his own accord, gave his all for 6 horrible seasons.

Bettsj2 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Bloody hell Danns. Seeing the replay has changed my mind. Our discipline this season has been shite. In this case I think you're being a bit harsh on Danns. He went in fully commited to win the ball. No intent at all to harm the player and certainly not deserving of the reaction of the Hull players. A little wreckless but certainly not on a par with Mills away at Birmingham.

I've seen it on SSN and the way Danns went in was much worse than how the Hull player went in. Nasty tackle. I hate to bring out the 'Neil isn't that kind of player but...' line but I think that's accurate here.
Tom17LCFC Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Great 3 points and I thought the atmosphere was quality as well. It's got so much better. Only thing missing is Peltier not nutting Rosenior, I hate him with a passion.
Corky Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Great win, showed our battling qualities coming from behind and then holding on with ten men. The Hull fans (who were shit) might well've had a dig at Pearson's style but it got the win and kept us, just about, in the hunt. Special mention for Dyer, who was outstanding, and Peltier who coped admirably with the threat of Stewart. The rest of the battled as a unit and should've added another when Drinkwater missed a good chance. Always good to travel home after a victory, and a well-earned one at that.
Corky Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 "Boring, Boring Nigel" they carped from the corner. We've scored 18 more goals than the Brazilianesque footballers from Humberside. God knows what they are.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Dyer was brilliant today, beckford didn't stop running, held the ball up well and made some quality passes when surrounded by hull players in their half, spreading the play. Morgan made maybe three brilliant challenges that ultimately won us the game. Who cleared Hobbs' header off the line? A very good win, we played our part in it as did their fans who gee'd our fans up.

broughtonblue Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 "MAULED BY THE FOXES" Actually saw some of their fans doing the actions after they scored, embarrassing!

ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Bloody 'ell, had no idea Hobbs had hit the post! When?! If we'd drawn due to goals from Hobbs and Fryatt I'd have cried.

Hobbs had a flicked near post header cleared off the line in 2nd half- I don't think it hit the post but heggsy isn't the only one to have said it did
ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 When did Hobbs hit the post? Glad it wasn't just me who missed it! Thought I was going mad.
