acooling08 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I think he was instrumental in us improving of late and getting that W-D-W run against Brum, Blackpool and Hull. In the 2 games he has been out, Forest and P'boro, we have been lacklustre and haven't scored once. Is Danns the key? Discuss.
Libertine Dream Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Without a doubt he is being missed. No question.
Corky Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Not sure if he's the key, but he has looked good in the centre in recent weeks.
Kitchandro Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Well yeh, obviously we've missed him. But it's not like we're the best team in the league with him. We mustn't simplify things like this. He was very poor for a large chunk of the season himself. Even if he was the saviour and the best player we've ever had, we are a team and need to deal with it when one player isn't playing.
accessory Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 We don't have enough depth in midfield - something the manager should have addressed once he'd let so many midfielders leave.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 We don't have enough depth in midfield - something the manager should have addressed once he'd let so many midfielders leave. I remember many posts on here saying "not another midfielder surely"...how ironic...
Libertine Dream Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 We don't have enough depth in midfield - something the manager should have addressed once he'd let so many midfielders leave. We should have asked Abe to stay for the season and then promise he could go.
cc_star Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Danns & Wellens had performed better in the middle than anyone else thus season. Wellens & King was awful, and the other combos we've had have been weak-to-average It's no surprise that we've struggled with them both missing and are playing a young lad alongside the worlds most erratic CB in the middle.
ramadaone Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Missed him big time today as offers a threat going forward which none of our central midfielders did today - think long term Danns and Drinkwater would be a quality central partnership with Marshall on one wing and A.N.Other on the other
topharry123 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Danns is a player that i wasn't sure about at first, but the last couple of months i think he is the link that binds our team together. Definitely have missed him and I really hope that he is a player that we can build a decent team around as there aren't many midfielders i have been this excited about at city for a long time. Maybe bigging him up a little but defintely been instrumental recently once he settled into the team.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Daft question isn't it. Course he's being missed. I'd have thought the fact we're playing a centre half in midfield would answer that.
paddy Agyemang Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Would of liked to have seen king today although he goes missing, that could have changed the game
gazfox9 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Deffo missed him no doubt. Pearsons system doesn't seem to have helped us in the last 2 games either.
The People's Hero Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 It must be just his energy we miss - he doesn't provide much else. I'm hoping we really improve our midfield options next year. We need energy, skill and vision, not just one of the other.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 We are missing him, Drinkwater and Bamba are not a good partnership in the middle IMO, I can't wait till he is back in our side, he should be captain for us next season aswell
Guest shearfox Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 We are missing him because we have been forced into changing the formation and putting our top scorer on the wing.
foxesfan1989 Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Danns does change games, but isnt the whole point of being a rich club that you have a large quality squad, that can cope with losses like Danns? Danns is great going forward, and poor defensively. We just didnt utilise his attacking capabilities enough at the start of the season for me.

blueharmie Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 We need danns back ASAP. When is he due back? His attitude and closing down and attack play lately have been a breth of fresh air. He should be captain.

He should be captain. I agree. He was in great form, and it was probably the worst time to lose him. He got a 4 match ban, so he'll be available for Millwall away on the 14th.
