St Ledger

Why the hell has he been dropped, and replaced with Sol Bamba, what the hell did he do wrong, for him to be dropped to the bench?

I think it's yet again another disgusting decision, that Pearson has made since he re joined us as manager, it's pathetic to drop St Ledger for Bamba, plus Morgan and Bamba ain't been playing that well together either. If St Ledger was in the side, I believe we could of well been in with a chance of the play-offs, probably seventh by now with him in the side.

Pearson kept on messing about with the side, when St Ledger has done nothing wrong at all. He has been one of our best performers in the second half of the season, hasn't put a foot wrong in our home matches since December time, and even played some good away games. St Ledger is a quality defender and we needed him, instead of Morgan or Bamba, if St Ledger leaves in the summer I will absolutely fume, it will be one of the worst decisions I have seen a manager make at our club.

St Ledger is probably even our best centre back, and has been amazing in recent months, then he gets flaming dropped.

Thoughts on the Ledge?

When we went through the stage of shipping goals i always thought he was the better centre back of the pairing cleaning up others mistakes and I'm honestly not too sure what he's done wrong on the pitch to warrant being left out for so long?

Bamba was brought in to deal with the threat of Piquionne, as SSL often has difficulty with big strikers. He did alright there (although Piquionne went off after like 20 minutes) so remained in the team for Ipswich, presumably to deal with the threat of Scotland. I would have brought SSL back in after that game, but we did win so Sol kept his place.

Wouldn't you rather have Matt Mills back in the squad kingfox?

How dare you use his name in a thread of mine.

Hang your head in shame.

Seen Sean in rockafellas on Tuesday wid mills and schluup asked him why have you been dropped he said he doesn't know he can't understand it. Asked are u sticking around next season, he shrugged his shoulders and said its out of his hands and said all he was to do is play football

Scotland tore Bamba to bits, and got turned too easily for the goal. As well as a bit of a dodge first half Tuesday!

NP is assessing all his options for next season, our problem this season has been conceding too many goals we have generally scored goals especially away from home, but we just can't keep them, NP has tried a number of different combinations but none seem to be gelling, he is trying another one with Sol and Morgan, and maybe he will try SSL and Bamba in the final few games. At least that way he can make an informed decision when strengthening the squad in the summer.

I really wouldn't call it disgusting, that is a little OTT, even for this forum.

Chester and Morgan will be the first 2 choices next season I think anyway, in Bambas defence he did very well to stop us going 0-1 on Tuesday

Massive overreaction.

SSL has had as many stinkers as good games. Not saying he's better or worse than our other options, just that he's become overrated based on the inconsistencies of others rather than his own level of performance. Wouldn't be sad to see him leave.

Agreed.

I think Morgan will be 1st choice CB next season and its down to NP to sort out his partner. I think Tunch/Mills will be gone then i reckon he'll also sell one of SSL/Bamba and keep the other

Think there is a clue in who he was keeping company with when you saw him. Both Mills and St Ledger have had slanging matches with Pearson if not fisty cuffs. I don't expect to see either of them playing for us next season, which begs the question is it actually Pearson who is causing all the back stage problems ? If his interview skills are anything like his man management then next season is already a right off.

I dont know why people question his man management all the time. Take someone like Bruno Berner, he couldnt speak highly enough on NP's man management skills and he's not the first. He gets the best out of players as he's done with Danns and Beckford

First of all " got the best out of Beckford' ? I'd hate to see the worst out of him then. There is clearly an undercurrent of unrest at the club , first St ledger then mills both substantiated and lots of other snippets leaking out of other players not happy with the manager. If you saw that abject surrender against Burnley the other night you would have to be some kind of dimwit not to realise those players did not want to play for Pearson. No passion and no fear of him either . If Bruno Berner ( on his last legs ) is the only one to praise Pearson then we are in big trouble for next season.

Beckford has been hit and miss to be fair but he was WOEFUL under Sven, looked like a Sunday player.

As for not playing for Pearson, totally disagree. Schmeichel/Konchesky/Nugent have put it in all season. Peltier/Morgan/Bamba didnt do alot wrong against Burnley, particularly Morgan and Peltier. Dyer always gives 100% and didnt really feel Marshall/Drinkwater not palying for him.... so ridiculous statement!

Chris Powell has said Pearson is the best manager he ever worked under.

Could you please prove the slanging matches and fisty cuffs that St Ledger had with Pearson? Any problems were denied flatly by Pearson, the same as the ones with Beckford were denied by the player. The only one nobody has said anything about is Mills... and the silence speaks volumes, even then you don't know who did what.

You don't like Pearson, fine. But you don't have to make stuff up about fall outs or players not playing for him.

Look at the name of the poster, ridiculous is his speciality.

No need to get personal old chap it is only my opinion. So according to you there was no bust up with st ledger ? And with mills it's just a little misunderstanding is it ? And silence does not speak volumes it merely indicates someone wants to keep their place in the team. And finally I am the only one on here who has heard about the unrest behind the scenes ? Ask yourself why St Ledger was dropped again despite playing so well ? It had nothing to do with tactics it is personal reasons and that is why he will be leaving this club along with several others at the end of the season.
