Simo86 Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 I've said yes, but only if its for considerably lower wages than he's on now! He's on about 60k at Villa and one of their top earners. I wouldn't offer him much more than 10k
foxesfan1989 Posted 30 April 2012 Author Posted 30 April 2012 I know, he has zero assists for the season, does that also make him rubbish, I know, he has zero assists for the season, does that also make him rubbish, Yes
RumbleFox Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 My first inclination was just to press "yes" and then tell the mods to just close the thread as anyone who doesn't want him back is a silly sausage. I thought that probably I should expand on that so strap yourselves in for a boring piece of inane drivel from Rumble. Why should we have him back? Well one - he is Heskey. He is Emile Ivanhoe Heskey and he is a legend! He supports the club and would surely give everything to get his Leicester promoted to the Premier League as he ends his career. I know, I know, just being passionate about the club does not mean he will be good and yes, it can be dangerous to have a legend back. But I believe we should have him back for other reasons too (oh yeah, little ol' Rumble got more for ya!). Every single striker he has ever played with has sung his praises and have played some of their best football alongside the big man. Yes he does not score enough and yes he can be frustrating but he is one of the most unselfish players I have ever seen. His ability to hold up play and set up others would be invaluable and surely in the Championship he can still do a job? He also helps out defensively which is something we clearly need to work on as a team. I actually don't think our defenders are that bad I think that we just need to defend better as a team. And with Emile leading by example and defending from the front surely that will help and encourage the rest of the team? Also, what a great person to have around for people like Schlupp and ol' Harry. He is a seasoned professional, has played at the top level and for his country and is also on the top 15 all time top scorers list for the Premier League (yeah, eat that you sh1t munching moaners). What a great person to have around the club. Also, in this age where most of the moaners on here go on about egos and attitudes and players not wanting to play for the club surely you would jump at the chance of having someone I believe to be one of the most professional players in the game? Anyway, I'll shut up now I would just like to say I hope you do come home Emile. We love you and we always will. You may not score as many as you are capable of and even I will admit that yes, you probably fall over a bit too much but you are OURS. Heskey, you a Leicester fan and we want you to come home!!! Heskey! Heskey! Heskey! Heskey! Rumble. X
Zingari Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Not really . As good as he was and possibly still is , I'd much sooner NP carrry on his team building ala Marshall , Drinkwater etc
AyewJoking Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 I can see Heskey rolling back the years and being a real asset at this level. The thing that bothers me is he will want big wages and we have several on big wages already. Two of em dont even play!
steveherbe Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Well, I have to agree with Rumblefox. bring the lad back, and lets have a Leicester FAN leading us to the Premiership.
yorkie1999 Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 No, my mate was at the albion villa game and reckons he is crap and just kept falling over looking for free kicks, can't hold the ball up and has got no legs.

yorkie1999 Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 No wonder he kept falling over Thought that as i wrote it.
wellyfox Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 No. As with NP I dob't do going back rather remember someone for what they were. Don't want him back and people calling him an as been cos he's out injured too often.
ta-fc Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Sentimentality aside? Is he better than what we've got? Probably not! So unfortunately not!
svensson Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 I know they beat Newcastle 4-0 but I think you're going a bit over the top there. Last time I checked they had won the Champo League 5 times and throw the leagues, FA Cups etc into the mix, not really going over the top at all.
svensson Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Sentimentality aside? Is he better than what we've got? Probably not! So unfortunately not! How is he not better than what we have? He is playing in a far far superior league? Why is everyone basing their judgement on his current prem form, you have to take into account the league we are playing in. He would terrorise SSL, Bamba, Morgan if he were up against them,.
Swiss_tony Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Big man up front. Does this mean we can expect a return to hoofball? If so at least it would save on wages for midfielders since they will be bypassed.
hbkkids Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 His goal scoring record is 1 in 5. That's 8-10 goals a season. Nothing special.
deeply_intellectual_fox Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 NO to Heskey.... Not Now - Not Ever Again Heskey was always ridiculously over rated. We got seriously ripped off by Everton for Sir Gary many years ago just as we dd the same to Liverpuuul for Heskey. Surely not even Pearson is that gulliible.
Guest MattP Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Not too keen on him coming back although I have heard he will be coming as a player/coach Heskey a coach? Shall we bring in Frank Bruno as the tactical guru as well?

Who are you his press officer? Its called an opinion princess... His hold up play is non existent, his goal scoring prowess is non existent and hes too slow, not to mention his age, injury record in recent years AND the wages he'll demand... Nuge, Vas, Schlupp, Waggy and even Becks have more to offer both in goals and build up play!
Guest shearfox Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 He offers something we don't have, he may not be the player he was but I'm sure he is more than capable playing at this level.
