LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Concert was okay, nothing brilliant though. Did anyone even see the Queen smile though? And Prince Charles, what a guy though! "Three cheers for mummy, hip hip...."
Zingari Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Why can’t we watch the queen eat her lunch ? Is she a right old trougher when she tucks in ? The banquet hall looks a right old miserable grey dump .
Vacamion Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 PHRASES YOU WON'T HEAR ON THE BBC's JUBILEE COVERAGE: [Just imagine "Who" Edwards announcing these in hushed reverential tones] "Of course, her Majesty had MASSIVE tits back in the day and was considered a bit of a royal fox. That's why the pictures on stamps are from the neck up" "The sad absence of His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh, who, as we all know, had Diana bumped off by MI5 because she was a secret muslim. Oh and preggers, too" "As Her Majesty makes her way past St Pauls, we can all reflect upon the heroic resistance offered in World War II. Mind you, her uncle Edward was best buddies with Hitler..." "The Duchess of Cornwall. A 10 pint of Stella job if ever you saw one. Must be a right goer, though, for The Prince of Wales to have dumped Diana for her." "There she goes...so serene, so beloved, so regal. Still, contrary to popular myth, she does actually poo..." "And I think we can all agree, Cheryl Cole can't sing for shit." "And, as you can see, Her Majesty is meeting members of the public, you will see that they have let some token ethnics, disableds and poor people in..."
Matt Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Should really have asked you about the reasons for people having chips on their shoulders. Read the bit through again - there are a few living near Vacimon (who lives in Scotland) who disliked the whole event. At no point did I mention any Scots living in England. 'Course perhaps if you'd gone to uni you might have been able to see that first time round No, you didn't, but i'm asking the question why are there so many Scots (You included) living in England who seem to dislike England so much (Which comes across with many Scots who live here)? As for this Jubilee and everyone saying 'Other countries have nothing like this, no other country would do anything as great as this', It is good what they've done and the celebration and everything - Not that i've been all that fussed personally but what I will say is we clearly know how to milk and over-do things, time to go back home now Liz.
The Doctor Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 No, you didn't, but i'm asking the question why are there so many Scots (You included) living in England who seem to dislike England so much (Which comes across with many Scots who live here)? Can't say I know of that many Scots that actually dislike the English, it's mostly (as much as I loathe the word) "banter". yep, always good to exploit the unemployed (see Accessory's post) for the sake of celebrating something that isn't an achievement.
Fox92 Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 lol That Mark Austin, who works for ITV, is legendary. Last year he got lost in the crowed when Kate and William got married, this year he is in the same position but a different location. And he's not overrating it like everyone else. He's just interviewed a young child who said 'it is the best day of my life', and he replied 'well you are still young and have bigger and better things to come'
Webbo Posted 5 June 2012 Author Posted 5 June 2012 All these happy people celebrating the Jubilee, it's enough to make a leftie cry.
Mack Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Did anyone else see that two faced fat **** Salmond at St Paul's today? I'm hope the rotten **** choked on his lunch! He should'nt be allowed into England any more.. jog on you devisive self publicising small minded ****.

Mack Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Even if Scotland does break away the Queen will still be the Queen of Scotland. IF they do they are more stupid and small minded that I credit them for. Salmond has a cheek coming to these celebrations, that are about being BRITISH. If I saw the **** I'd make him eat a Union Flag, and without ketchup!

Mack Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 I love how pissed off you get at nothing. Should Farage not be allowed into Europe anymore? Farage hasn't deceived local people with popularist bullshit policies to get himself into a position to call a referendum on Europe. P.S. I'm guessing Salmond is not so keen on the Euro any more?!
ADK Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 It would be bad for both England and Scotland if they became "independant". Plus, it would strengthen the Tories in England which is never a good thing.
ousefox Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 It would be bad for both England and Scotland if they became "independant". Plus, it would strengthen the Tories in England which is never a good thing. Exactly my thoughts, the only reason why i'm actually bothered about the issue!
The Doctor Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Farage hasn't deceived local people with popularist bullshit policies to get himself into a position to call a referendum on Europe. P.S. I'm guessing Salmond is not so keen on the Euro any more?! I think the SNP's success is more due to a lack of decent alternatives. As far as I'm aware they were more interested in becoming part of the Scandinavian bloc than fully-fledged members of Europe anyway. It would be bad for both England and Scotland if they became "independant". Plus, it would strengthen the Tories in England which is never a good thing. Which is why I reckon the Scots'll vote against, just to spite the Tories.
Parafox Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Back to last nights concert and a few observations of my own. Incredibly good and well rounded for all tatses (maybe with the exception of Lenny Henry, who is NOT as funny as he likes to think he is, similarly Rob Brydon). I got the feeling that if they weren't in the public eye the Royal youth would've been up on their feet (one exception again, Prince Harry looked utterly pissed off like he was missing a pub-crawl with his mates). Cheryl Cole was utter shite and when you hear the likes of Shirley Bassey and Annie Lennox sing you realise just how dire the geordie bint is. Elton John looked and slurred like he'd had a stroke. Tom Jones... how cool was he? The laser projection onto the Palace during Madness... amazing Paul McCartney... couldn't sing live, over-rated writer of nursery rhymes... without John Lennon we would never have heard of him Personally I'm not bothered about the Jubilee but the concert was truly awesome... well done (sir) Gary Barlow

McCartney cannot sing live now because of his age. Remember, he is 69 years of age, nearly 70, and his voice will be going now. You just turn up for who he is, too see him and his legendary music. He needs to choose songs that don't require high notes; 'All My Loving' for example was fine, but, 'Let It Be' requires high notes. And although John Lennon is my hero, and my favourite Beatle, I disagree that we wouldn't have heard of McCartney without Lennon. Although I like Lennon's songs the most, they really did come together and their work together is second to none. Also, he isn't an 'overrated write of nursery rhyms' either; what about 'Let It Be', 'Live And Let Die', 'Yesterday' etc - all songs primeraly wrote by McCartney, all classics. Edit; This does not mean I like/rate McCartney better than Lennon, because I don't. I think Lennon's songs are better, and I think he was better, I just don't agree we wouldn't of heard of McCartney without John Lennon, even though the Beatles were Lennon's band. And a note on Cheryl Cole; I can sing better.

Parafox Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 I thought it was overloaded with oldies from the 60s, a more even representation across the 6 decades would have been better. Really?... Out of all the acts...Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Cliff Richard, maybe Paul Mccartney at a push... can't think of any more that were from the 60's
Jimothy Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 I agree with everything here apart from the Paul McCartney bit... McCartney cannot sing live now because of his age. Remember, he is 69 years of age and his voice will be going now. Tom Jones sounded great and he's 71.
Fox92 Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Tom Jones sounded great and he's 71. I didn't think he was that good, not any better anyway. Plus, the songs he performed were slower, slower than 'Live And Let Die' and 'Ob La Di Ob La Da'. I was even let down with 'Delilah' because it was slower via the acoustic version.
davieG Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Really?... Out of all the acts...Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Cliff Richard, maybe Paul Mccartney at a push... can't think of any more that were from the 60's Paul McCartney at a push, he was doing the rounds with the Beatles from 1960 and had their first chart success in 1962. Stevie Wonder charted from the mid-sixties and Elton John Charted in the late 60s. So that's 6 which strikes me as quite a high %, I'm not anti-sixties either I was in my teens/early 20s when these acts were around.

Maybe I should've said post- Beatles McCartney. However I draw your attention to... The Frog Chorus, Obla-di Obla-da, Mull of Kintyre, Ebony and Ivory (cheeeeeesy), Wonderful Christmas Time, Let 'em In, Shirley Bassey sang live as did Tom Jones and his sister Grace and they are no spring chickens, my friend

McCartney is a great musician, and songwriter but he's never had the voice Jones has. McCartney's has tailed off Jones' hasn't. And I've dipped in and out of The Voice over the past few month, and believe me Jones can still sing high tempo songs.
