We performed better than expected this tournament with an average bunch of players, long injury list and last minute managerial change. There was plenty going against England and the team were nowhere near ready to face a German side that looks nailed on to win the tournament.

Good thing that the FA have decided to make changes at Grass roots level maybe in 15-20 years time we might have players who know how to actually hold on to the ball and pick a pass.

I didn't dispute Terry's inclusion. Where was Gerrard tonight? It wasn't his best game but I can't think of players who've done more than him in this Euro's.

To get to the cusp of the semi-finals (our joint-best showing for 16 years) without three first choice players (Walker, Wilshere, Cahill) and a couple of very good squad players (Lampard, a Champions League winning captain and Barry, a virtual ever-present for the Premier League winners), the ex-Captain about to stand trial, a manager who had been in the job six weeks and our best player banned for the first two matches, was nothing short of remarkable. Ashley Young can fvck off though. I hope Pizza Hut don't even do him the courtesy of the offer of an advert. A spineless penalty, capping a spineless display.
