I am Rod Hull Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Reminds me of the campaign to add black into the union flag to represent ethnic diversity. Think we should keep it as it is. What the fvck! I must have missed that one....
Daggers Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Reminds me of the campaign to add black into the union flag to represent ethnic diversity. Think we should keep it as it is. One man, Nigel Turner, hardly a campaign.
ADK Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 If anything were to be changed it would be the lyrics to GStQ.
I am Rod Hull Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/2981038.stm Utter bollox... Mr Turner is obviously a think cvnt...
Zingari Posted 8 August 2012 Posted 8 August 2012 If anything were to be changed it would be the lyrics to GStQ. Darwin save the anachronistic unelected unrepresentative head of state ?
Nick Posted 8 August 2012 Posted 8 August 2012 GSTQ - British anthem Jerusalem - English anthem This.
Guest Bilo Posted 8 August 2012 Posted 8 August 2012 This is amazing enough, so the thought of 90,000 singing this at Wembley sends shivers.
Saxondale Posted 8 August 2012 Posted 8 August 2012 Has anybody else noticed that the particular arrangement of God Save the Queen used in the Olympic medal ceremonies is a little strange? It sounds wrong.
Libertine Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Turns out it wasn't him who actually said that to Morgan. Hope & Glory, btw.
Libertine Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Has anybody else noticed that the particular arrangement of God Save the Queen used in the Olympic medal ceremonies is a little strange? It sounds wrong. YES. It's the rhythm section that isn't always that prominent in other versions I think.
flowwolf Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 God save the queen for me. What are you planning to do with her then ?
flowwolf Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 GSTQ - British anthem Jerusalem - English anthem Understand what you mean Bilo but the question was a national anthem. The English are a nation so are the Scots and Welsh both have their own , Flower of Scotland and Land of my fathers which they sing heartily. But the English are stuck with God save the Queen. It's high time we had our own and personally I would love to hear Jerusalem belted out at a full Wembley before the start of a England match it's such a stirring number and feels so English.
ousefox Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 GSTQ - Why change something that's not broke? Sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it. How is it not broke? More people don't believe in God than do now in the UK...and i won't even bother to go onto the Queen bit! I can never bring myself to sing it personally, i cringe when i hear it
Webbo Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 How is it not broke? More people don't believe in God than do now in the UK...and i won't even bother to go onto the Queen bit! I can never bring myself to sing it personally, i cringe when i hear it Yeah, the jubilee was an enormous flop.
Zingari Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Yeah, the jubilee was an enormous flop. Well Prince Philip is in his 90's and the queen ain't such a looker as she was 10 years ago , so give him a break !
ousefox Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Yeah, the jubilee was an enormous flop. I was going along the lines of her being unelected etc, though more people watched England games in the Euros than any of the coverage of the Jubilee..Will never understand the excitement towards the Queen, but each to their own.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 GOD SAVE THE QUEEN for me. I am as patriotic and royalist as you get
