Poznan34 Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 All the marketing the club are doing to make the club "family friendly" seems to be working. I struggled to see an empty seat in the Family stand where there usually are some big gaps. It might just be because it's the start of the season though? Maybe the club could do some marketing for the seats under the TV screens?
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 I think ST prices are relatively cheap there, wasn't there a price-freeze for the family stand while other areas had an increase?
Kitchandro Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Yeh that's great. Except the gaps are now just in other areas of the ground. They could do a bit better job 'marketing' the club to young lads and blokes who have supported us for 30 years.

Agree 100% , regular (not the right word) fans use this area now purely due to the price. I don't want to moan but 23K attendance is not great and its all down to one thing £££££££
foxesfan1989 Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 I don't usually sit there when I go...but the tickets were the cheapest in the stadium so sat there for todays match.
brockmyster Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Definately not down to targeting families to me it seems like because its cheapest area of ground everyones going there which is fair enough, but as someone else said 23k is a little disappointing and the price could be a large factor.
Daggers Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Premium pricing seems to be working out pretty much as expected then.
FrankieADZ Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 so the school holidays, weather and that didnt help then....cant see that being the case on cold saturdays in december.
Dan Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Lets be honest though if the club couldn't make a decent family stand with it being their only priority, they'd be a huge embarrassment.
Champ Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 I rang for a ticket at lunchtime and was surprised that they were only £24. Bonus Free pint then!
Jimothy Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 People are moaning about 23000? That was our average attendance last season, and we only got 23000 for our first home game last year, and that was with Svenmania and all that.

bluesbrothers Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Ah yes, the Broken Family Stand. I'm back there with my old man now. Anybody catch that bitch mouthing off at the bloke in the queue for not buying her a beer? I saw some stewards heading there, i hope the cow got chucked out. Thinks just because she's got blonde hair and tits she can cut what were pretty long queues. Seriously, she was a fvcking embarrasment. She was dragging a 5 year old kid around with her too. Disguisted. On an unrelated note that I'm not moaning about, the Pedo chants were hilarious. Not least because we had kids around us the right age to be victims baiting him too.

Yes but that was the first home game, not the first league game. 23K is great in comparison to most of the league, but it will drop below that in the coming months and I expect our average to be lower than last season (though, obviously the long term performance of the team will be an important factor). Your high gates are usually the first game, the last game, local derbies, top of the table/relegation clashes and boxing day. But for those matches they won't be much higher if at all because the prices will be higher for those games. It's sad to see poorly supported clubs like Derby getting 27K just because the people who run the club are trying to bring in as many fans as possible, whilst our club is only trying to bring in as many of a certain type of fan as possible, whilst trying to put off other groups.
ADK Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Think that made us 2nd highest attendance. Behind Derby.
Bayfox Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 derby gave sheff weds 6k according to my weds supporting mate.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 derby gave sheff weds 6k according to my weds supporting mate. Take 4200 off of derby's attendance (to allow for posh only bringing 1800) and there were about as many Leicester as Derby fans at their respective games yesterday...
Stoneybroke Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Atmosphere good in the family stand . And the price even better . Kids really enjoying themselves and not just sitting looking glum .

This, they're such a better club than us in that regard it's actually embarrassing.
Simmo86 Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 6000 Wednesday at Derby nicely boosts up their attendance. We had just under 24k with only 1800 Posh. Derbys home gates won't be that much better than ours this year.
