For what it is worth Waghorn is playing 'in the hole' behind Wickham and is heavily involved in the buildup play and has had England's best effort on goal. His corners are decent too....... Because he's not played well for 2 seasons, and for him to be anywhere near the England u21s is, for me, bizarre. Do you think the German or Spanish u21s, or any of the big European countries, are starting a striker in a competitive game that has been off form for two seasons and isn't getting anywhere near the first team of a club in the second division? Waghorn is going backwards at the moment and, despite his goals against the mighty forces that are Azerbaijan (ranked 107th) and Israel (ranked 75th), other and better English prospects should be starting ahead of him. Waghorn virtually playing in midfield, Pearce looks to have settled for a 1-0, which has naturally enough led Norway back into the game.....
