We won! Get in! Unfortunately, no matter the formation or rotation of one average player for another, this team is simply not strong enough to mount any serious challenge at the top of the league. But who knows with a bit of luck and a winning streak of two games in a row now and again, the wind behind us and the fans doing their bit we may just squeeze into the play offs. Thats the reality so let's prepare ourselves for another inconsistent season with hopefully a few more wins than defeats.

Just had a quick look at the match thread, fvcking laughable. I wonder if people give up on things so easily in every aspect of their lives.

I'm concerned for Drinkwater. Currently he looks like the midfield ball winner AND playmaker. He has got such a good engine. A really good playmaker alongside him (James was ok tonight but again I'm not really sure of his role?) and Drinky could be a better player I think. He seems to be doing the job of two players at the moment.

I'd give Danns a go alongside Drinky on Sunday. Pearson really does seem to have lost faith in both Danns and Becks though. I reckon if he could, he'd probably ship both of them out.

Was literally about to post the very same thing. It shows it's never wise to post during the match!

Got back a while ago.

First half I thought oh here we go again, this is Burnley last season all over again, we were poor, slow, looked out of ideas and everyone apart from the defence was woeful, midfield was rubbish and so were Nugent and Vardy.

Come second half we looked like a changed team, Morgan and St Ledger both had a cracking game, Konchesky looked better, but I thought De Laet was a massive let down, he attacked incredibly well, but on the defensive side he was so so poor.

Marshall had a shocker, James quiet but quite effective, Drinkwater was poor in my opinion, amount of balls he gave away, and the amount of time he spent on the ball in dangerous areas, was ludicrous. But Nugent and Vardy improved dramatically two early goals and linked much better.

Quite happy with the performance in the end, and a win's a win, so well done to the lads tonight, some impressed some didn't but who cares.

We won, now bring on Hull on Sunday :D

Agree, can't understand why drinky is getting such high scores in the players ratings for tonights game. gave the ball away far too often. Amazing how peoples opinions vary so much.

Could Kingy be back?

On a positive note, lets hope Vardy and Nuge's goals give them some confidence going into the next few games (deflections or not)

Yep, especially Nugent who hadn't scored for some time.

I don't think he has lost faith in them but he prefers picking players with a future at the club instead, shame really as I would be starting with both most matches I suppose we can only guess if its a tactical choice or a financial choice

He did give it away, but you can see he and James have ability. It just didn't feel like it was clicking for me quite enough.

But they are two young lads and should only grow into the roles as time goes on.

And you won that cos I bet on Burnley, FACT

Why are you betting against a club that has 100% record at home playing a nothing club like Burnley?

Then again you did seem to think Charlton would do well in the Championship last year. :P

Much needed 3 points, good to see both strikers score even if it was lucky might get the monkey off the back a bit. Glad Knockaret played a good game, quality wingers in this divison are like gold.

Now to get 2 in a row and really try and establish ourselfs in the top 6.

Onwards and upwards I hope  lets hope we can get back to back league wins at this stage of the season it would be nice and could give us the confidence to get a winning run together.

Well I'm delighted with the win, and loved the second half, especially the running the clock down in the corner. Knockout was as good for 90 minutes as he is for the 20 minute cameos, so that was a big positive.

But......

Are we really kidding ourselves that it's good enough to have first halves like that??

I took the new bit of fluff and warned her that we'd be atrocious for the first half and be booed off and then come out like a different team and attack like our lives depended on it. Why are we so predictable??? Surely whatever happens at half time should be happening before the game.

I'm delighted with the win - but it does little to change my mind that we are good enough.

Sorry for the reality check - I'm just not a proper fan.

I remain unconvinced really our lethargic first half could of cost us the game if Burnley had taken their chances, though give credit to the players for turning round the game, the proof will be in the pudding if we beat both Dull and Middlesborough do that and it gives me confidence we could do something this season.
