Guest MattP Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 We'd still be in the top 20 easily though. Leeds already above us in that list. The likes of Stoke, Norwich and Fulham don't have stadiums big enough to compete and Blackburn and Birmingham do not have the fanbase that we do. Historically I think we'd get in, if the format was over time. If it was created tomorrow though I think we'd struggle to get put into it given we have not been in the top flight for ten years and have neither a league ot FA cup to our name.
lavrentis Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 I bet fans of other clubs wouldnt choose,us I am normally quite realistic about Leicester in terms of success, size, stature etc at times but I think most fans would actually choose us
Jaspa Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Surely Leagues wont ever be locked, it would be catastrophic on this football system, god knows about in long term tho I made a very simular thread to this earlier in the year. Like 'Your Premiership 20', asking which clubs people would think fit into the Prem best; no-one cared
Basingstoke Fox Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 To be fair, not an awful lot happens in that video. Most people just seem to be videoing eachother.
Captain... Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Are you actually being serious? They were banned from each others grounds a few years back because the violence got that bad. This is a video from Wales v England. This isn't the English arriving into Cardiff, it's Swansea Yes I was being serious, I seriously asked a question I genuinely didn't know the answer to, I barely pay attention to football outside the county, let alone the country. A couple of tinpot Welsh clubs throwing leeks at each other at spitting a lot when they talk barely registered on my radar.
Finnegan Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 The South Wales derby is the most heated south of the Old Firm in the UK. In fact, even Celtic and Rangers fans aren't stupid enough to show up at Scotland games in club colours and start fights (although, admittedly, the biggest trouble makers in the Old Firm aren't Scottish.) Almost every game I've been to in Cardiff I've seen people kicked out for fighting. Usually pissed up Soul Crew starting on some div who's come in a Swans top. Go stand with a bunch of Cardiff fans when they come here and start making swimming actions. See where that gets you!!
Finnegan Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 Oh and both of those tinpot Welsh clubs are out performing us in the league, one considerably.
Matt Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 I don't really see the point, I know you are just starting a debate e.t.c, but don't really see the point in the debate. If this were the case, what is the point in the Championship, League One, League Two, Conference and the leagues below? Yes you have the challenge and joy of winning the leagues I suppose but after that there is nothing, How do you better yourself? You've reached the peak of what you are able to achieve and you can't go any higher because there is no promotion - This would cause teams below the Premier League to lose out on more fans and create more Premier League fanboys. The Premier League would become arguably even more boring because I (and many other's) find the relegation battles just as exciting as some people find the battle to win the league. And another thing? The idea (As the OP says) comes from an American league system - That in itself is a reason this shouldn't even be discussed.

Dan Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 I bet fans of other clubs wouldnt choose,us I thought this, but I'm on a neutral forum and there was a similar thread, and believe it or not more people put us than the likes of Sheff Weds, Norwich, Derby etc... Mine.. Arsenal Aston Villa Chelsea Crystal Palace Derby County Everton Leeds United Leicester City Liverpool Manchester City Manchester United Newcastle United Norwich City Nottingham Forest Sheffield Wednesday Southampton Sunderland Tottenham West Ham Wolves
Finnegan Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 I'm aware, I've been in this country a long, long time. But shit "banter" is still shit. That was kingfoxesque.

I think it's just a bit of fun, it's probably took you longer to write that than it would to have just made a list of team or just not commented at all, its not like he is suggesting it will or might actually happen.

They hate each other so much they don't even need a match day to start fighting. Then again that may just be cause there's nowt better to do in Wales.

For Swansea they should get to the Gower and enjoy the stunning bars, scenery, location and women they have access too. Would soon forget about the football.

I didn't get finner's swimming gestures either, they are 2 clubs I know little about, I quite like Swansea at the moment and don't have much time for Cardiff but in the grand scheme of things these are small clubs from a different country that arguably shouldn't even be in the same football association as us.

ithuriel Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 I'd just give up watching football. Me too, would be fairly pointless.
Mack Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 I'd just give up watching football. Agreed, what a horrid idea.
