DennisNedry Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 McLaren should jump in for Hulkenburg. Get rid of Perez.
ADK Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 There's something about F1 that just isn't exciting for me at the moment. I'm not sure if it's the one-sidedness of the title race, the nature of the tyres or the effects of the safety cars. Everything just feels a bit bland at the moment.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 The tyres are having too greater an influence on the outcome of the races. But then again every criticism you can level at the sport can be countered by the "well Red Bull manage the constraints laid down, it's up to the rest to catch them and beat them blah blah blah..." but it is becoming tedious to watch. Vettel isn't a class act in my mind anyway. Given a level playing field, Alonso and Hamilton would beat him no problem. Why can't they design a tyre that lasts and doesn't wear so quickly? By all means force teams to run different tyres but don't let tyres dictate races.
ADK Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Supposedly the audience prefer the tyres to wear quickly because it results in more movement of places, the possibility of overtakes due to conflicting strategies and adds a certain degree of unpredictability. Personally I preferred the era of multiple short sprints with refuelling and durable tyres, where the driver simply drove the wheels of his car for the full race length. It didn't always result in memorable races but when it did it was usually worth the wait. Right now an endless stream of DRS overtakes and "excellent drives" consisting of correctly predicting the deployment of the safety car are boring me.
Amin Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Good win from Vettel in the end. Grosjean had a great drive today, did very well to hold Webber off for as long as he did.
isaidno Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Vettel had to work hard for that win today. Another good drive from the Hulk as well
DennisNedry Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Good tactics from Red Bull today. Ease Webber out of the way on an inferior strategy that is not only slower, but also made sure Webber and Vettel never met on track. I'm sure Webber would love to take Vettel out, you can see how much he dislikes him. Can't blame him after being treated as shit since Turkey 2010.

Wrong, Webber would have caught Vettel in the last couple of laps if he overtook Grosjean at the first opportunity, like Vettel did. They could have tried leaving Webber out at the end but his tires probably would've fallen off the cliff.
Asha Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Who would bet against Vettel winning in India too? No-one else has won there yet, and Vettel is in incredible form. Hopefully Webber will win one of the races once Vettel's wrapped the title up, hasn't won in well over a year now and only has a few left to make double figures.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 Can we just end the season already? This year has been proper grim.
Legend_in_blue Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 I'm fed up with it. I really want to enjoy the racing but for me, tyres and the dominance of the red bull team, rather than Vettel's ability, is really beginning to grate. Bring back fuel stops, bring back durable tyres, bring back racing.
DennisNedry Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 I just want next season to start now! New engines will hopefully mix the grid up a bit and actually give us a situation where you have no idea who's going to win each time.
isaidno Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 In a shock announcement, Toro Rosso have confirmed that Daniil Kvyat will drive alongside Jean-Eric Vergne for the 2014 season. The Russian 19-year-old, a relative unknown who was previously part of the Red Bull Junior Driver programme, will replace the Red Bull-bound Daniel Ricciardo. Kvyat has driven in the GP3 series this season. Ricciardo's seat had expected to go to the highly-rated Antonio Felix da Costa. Wrong Decision. Not ready for F1.
Amin Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Really surprised with their decision. I thought it was da Costa's seat, despite his troubles this year. The funny thing is, at 19, Kvyat probably won't be the youngest Russian in F1 next year.

The funny thing is, at 19, Kvyat probably won't be the youngest Russian in F1 next year. Kyvat's got a better record than Sirotkin, but GP3 to F1 is a massive step up. Bottas did it but he had a year of testing. It's gotta have something to do with the Russian Gp next season.
Asha Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Good luck to the lad, hopefully he can prove people wrong and make the step up.
ADK Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Massa is done, I hope he retires rather than becoming a pay driver.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 I hope we improve considerable amounts this year, absolute joke how bad the car is.
ADK Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 McLaren aren't that bad they just lost their only decent driver.
Amin Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 McLaren aren't that bad they just lost their only decent driver. I think THM is a Williams fan. Forget about the drivers, the Mclaren car has just been terrible.
ADK Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Oh Williams? They actually had a very decent car last year but poor drivers. I do hope they can at least get back to being a midfield team but their driver line up is always so poor.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Yeah I'm Williams, our drivers were fine, we've just gone for that youthful approach. Mal can be reckless at times, but he's still a decent driver he got us a podium that year don't forget. It's just remarkable how bad the car has become after that year. Our line-ups have been rather underwhelming since Rosberg left though. I did like Mal and Senna as a pairing and was sadden that we dropped Bruno saying that Bottas has grown on me. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/formula-1-massa-confirms-talks-williams-131204760--f1.html omg please
isaidno Posted 25 October 2013 Posted 25 October 2013 Can't see Vettel getting beat again this season. Half a second clear of Grosjean in third today
Super_horns Posted 27 October 2013 Posted 27 October 2013 Can't see Vettel getting beat again this season. Half a second clear of Grosjean in third today Everyone but Vettel has had a mare today. Webber probably cannot wait for the season to end.
