Legend_in_blue Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 It looks like Maldonado is leaving Williams, with Massa probably replacing him. Maldonado isn't very good, but then neither is Massa, so a like for like swap it seems.
iamafox Posted 1 November 2013 Posted 1 November 2013 Maldonado looks more likely to move to Lotus than Hulkenberg sadly. Apparently Force India are offering him a return to the team.
ADK Posted 1 November 2013 Posted 1 November 2013 Maldonado is about the only driver I don't like as a person. Comes across as arrogant and used his car as a weapon a few times the other season. Think he got banned from racing at Monaco at one point too.

Amin Posted 1 November 2013 Posted 1 November 2013 Maldonado's money could be very useful to Lotus, especially when you take into account the £15mil they owe Raikkonen in unpaid wages. It all hinges on whether Lotus finalise the deal with Quantum Motorsport. With their investment they'll choose Hulkenberg over Maldonado.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 1 November 2013 Posted 1 November 2013 Mal is superb and it fully warrants the Lotus seat imo, he's just a little reckless at times but at other times he shows what he can really do. Obviously he hasn't had the car to be able to do that this year and I wish him well, I'm just glad that he's moving up.

I think he would surprise a few people, like he did in Spain last year.
Stadt Posted 1 November 2013 Posted 1 November 2013 I've just looked at Heidfeld's career stats, that's unlucky!
Amin Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 I've just looked at Heidfeld's career stats, that's unlucky! That's a bit of a random comment. What makes you say that? I don't remember Nick being particularly unlucky.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 That's a bit of a random comment. What makes you say that? I don't remember Nick being particularly unlucky. He is the driver who has scored the highest number of world championship points without a Grand Prix win, holds the record for the most podium finishes without a Grand Prix win and has the most second place finishes without a win. poor guy!
Jimothy Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 He is the driver who has scored the highest number of world championship points without a Grand Prix win, holds the record for the most podium finishes without a Grand Prix win and has the most second place finishes without a win. poor guy! Also has the record for the most consecutive classified finishes, so clearly not unlucky with reliabity either.
isaidno Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Britains Sam Bird has just blown the GP2 title. He was second on the grid and stalled, handing the title to Fabio Leimer
Guest shearfox Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 My summary of the F1 season: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
isaidno Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 since the tyres were changed after Silverstone, Vettel has been untouchable, and the races have been boring
ADK Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Another poor result for Hamilton although not really anything he could do. Good drive by Di Resta, one of a few drivers in the mix for a handful of seats.
Beliall Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 new rule suggestion for 2014, vettel has to tow riciardo every race
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Did anyone notice the different engine sound being made by Vettel's car on the pit tunnel exit? I specifically looked out for this all race and it was definitely sounding different to Webber's and all the other cars. It's obvious to me that Vettel and Webber are clearly driving different cars and Vettel has the luxury of a piece of technology not being used by his teammate and this is something that the other teams just haven't fathomed out at all. The commentators eluded to the 30 second gap at the end of the race and put it down to driver ability. No chance. Webber isn't that bad a driver to be 30 seconds off the pace by the race end.

Very interesting indeed, I knocked Webber because of the gap between him and Vettel. Now it is clear they concentrate on one driver, and the car is certainly built all around Vettel but I think you might have a point there he may be driving a faster car. I just want the other teams to catch up with Red Bull so we can have an interesting championship again like we had from 2005 through to 2009. They were some of the most exciting seasons, and these rule changes were meant to make things more competitive but they have made it worse.
isaidno Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 This seasons a lot worse than 2011. At least in 2011 we had some decent races. Canada,China,Germany,Hungary. How many decent races has there been this season?
Asha Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 This seasons a lot worse than 2011. At least in 2011 we had some decent races. Canada,China,Germany,Hungary. How many decent races has there been this season? Oh, well those races would obviously be picked out. Is a race only decent if it's won by a Brit, then? This season, there's been a couple of pretty dull ones but quite a few have been exciting and fascinating. Australia, Malaysia, Spain, Britain, Germany, Hungary, Japan off the top of my head.
Asha Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Hopefully while Red Bull have been kicking on and sealing the championship, the likes of Mercedes, McLaren and Lotus have been pushing on with next season's effort. I'd imagine Ferrari probably gave up and started to do the same some months ago.
Brainy Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Is a race only decent if it's won by a Brit, then? paranoia much?
Asha Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 ....Yeah okay. The four races he picked out as the only ones to be 'decent' were all won by Brits. Honest question.
