Amin Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Okay, what is your argument against... How about you name the 12-13 drivers who are better than him? I can only think of 4 drivers that are clearly better than him.
Finnegan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 How about you name the 12-13 drivers who are better than him? I can only think of 4 drivers that are clearly better than him. Kimi, Seb, Lewis, Jense, Niko. That's probably about it? Webber is a Rubens. Tidy driver, just never quite consistently exceptional.
Amin Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Kimi, Seb, Lewis, Jense, Niko. That's probably about it? Webber is a Rubens. Tidy driver, just never quite consistently exceptional. Personally I would put Webber on the same level as Button and Rosberg.
Strokes Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Kimi, Seb, Lewis, Jense, Niko. That's probably about it? Webber is a Rubens. Tidy driver, just never quite consistently exceptional. ALONSO, i rate button above webber. Hulkenberg and sutil are as good as too and before his accident Massa was better than webber ever has been.
Finnegan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 How I forgot Alonso I've no idea. Comfortably the best driver on the grid.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Personally I would put Webber on the same level as Button and Rosberg. I'd say Rosberg is slightly better, I'm a little bias though because Nico is probably my favorite driver atm. I'd agree with Button though.
Brainy Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Personally I would put Webber on the same level as Button and Rosberg. Completely agree. All solid drivers. Probably on the level behind the obvious four. Might even be tempted to put Maldonado with Webber etc, cause his pace at times last year was brilliant. Either that or Senna was absolute rubbish. Hulkenberg, Di Resta, below that. Then i'd put myself ahead of Gutierrez.
Asha Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Webber's been in the best car for the last four seasons and only once made a significant challenge for the title. I'm not the greatest Button fan but I think he would have won a lot more in the same time at Red Bull - actually he's won more races than Webber anyway since the beginning of 2010 despite the McLaren never really being the absolute best car as the Red Bull has been. I'd definitely put Button above Webber but still behind the 'big four', with MW on the same level as Rosberg.
Finnegan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Your big four being Fernando, Felipe, Felipe's hair and Rob Smedley?
Strokes Posted 7 September 2013 Posted 7 September 2013 Qualos on the bbc, i hope alonso and hamilton can squeeze seb back and keep the championship interesting.
Strokes Posted 7 September 2013 Posted 7 September 2013 Wow, Hamilton and Raikkonen out in Q2.Yeah a big shock, riccardo looks quick today.
Finnegan Posted 7 September 2013 Posted 7 September 2013 Red Bull qualify 1 2? Okay, at least I know I don't need to watch this race.
Finnegan Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Red Bull qualify 1 2? Okay, at least I know I don't need to watch this race. Called it.
Asha Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Your big four being Fernando, Felipe, Felipe's hair and Rob Smedley? Haha, yeah - and while I'm not surprised you'd say something like that, or that Walkers inevitably +1'd it, I've said on here a couple of times recently that while I admire Felipe, it's definitely time for him to move on and get someone else in. Sounds like Kimi is favourite to replace him which would mean a fantastic line-up for Ferrari. It would be nice to see Hulkenberg move into Lotus should he not get the Ferrari seat - it'll be interesting to see what he can do in a faster car.
Asha Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24016050 Looks like it's a done deal then! Alonso and Kimi - without doubt the best driver pairing on the grid - just a case of how well they work together. And Hulkenberg probably going to Lotus to replace Kimi
Asha Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24040973 Confirmed that Felipe Massa will leave Ferrari at the end of the season. Almost definite that Kimi will be his replacement. It's been a great time for Felipe Baby at Ferrari but the last few years the performances haven't really been up to standard. Will always remember him fondly though, very talented driver and hopefully he can find another seat and stay in F1
Amin Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 Yeah, his departure is probably a couple of years overdue but he has always been a loyal servant for Ferrari and he is obviously loved there. I will always remember his 2008 season fondly. Edit: BBC now reporting the Kimi - Ferrari deal as fact: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24042352 Edit #2: Ferrari have now officially announced the return of Raikkonen. In my ten years of watching F1, I've always wanted to see Alonso and Raikkonen become teammates, more than any other two drivers.
Finnegan Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Loving the return of Kimi, I might even become a Tifosi PAP!! What a team that is for next year. Really hope Alonso keeps his toys in the pram and that Ferrari give them a capable car. Would really revitalize the sport if they can compete with Red Bull.
Nick Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Loving the return of Kimi, I might even become a Tifosi PAP!! What a team that is for next year. Really hope Alonso keeps his toys in the pram and that Ferrari give them a capable car. Would really revitalize the sport if they can compete with Red Bull. I think we know this won't happen. The first time Kimi shows him up in any way, that pram is gonna be void of anything. You can just imagine the team orders situation....... "Kimi, Kimi? is your radio working, we asked you to let Fernando pass" I just hope Kimi can do something to wipe the smile of Vettel's face and stop that annoying finger in the air when he wins celebration.
isaidno Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Had an awesome time at the Italian Gp. Me and my mate were stood right underneath the podium as the drivers were spraying the champagne. Managed to get myself on BBC, standing behind Suzi perry, DC & EJ as they were interviewing Christian Horner. This is Alonso taking a picture of us !
