isaidno Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Mercedes have a seriously fast car in qualifying , just need to make the tyres last in the races then they can challenge for the title
wurmer Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Tyres are ruining his season - almost as interesting and strategic as an Excel spreadsheet so far.
isaidno Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Tyres are ruining his season - almost as interesting and strategic as an Excel spreadsheet so far. Agree with you, trying to watch this and the match at the same time, and it was really hard to follow
Amin Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Just watched the race on iplayer. Quite embarrassing for Mercedes today, pole to 68s behind the winner and P2 to a lap behind the winner. Monaco will be Mercedes best chance of a win but I can't see past a three horse race for the title race now.
ADK Posted 13 May 2013 Posted 13 May 2013 Tyres are beyond a joke. All the onboards they showed looked like they were doing outlaps. Seriously fed up of gimmicks in F1. Push to pass, KERS, exploding tyres, rev limited engines, contrived tyre rules.
Wycombe Fox Posted 13 May 2013 Posted 13 May 2013 I totally agree. It's actually getting boring.it must be frustrating for the drivers as well. They have some amazing machinery around them and yet they can't use either the car's or their own capabilities to anything approaching their maximum. I want to see drivers going flat out, not 70%.
Amin Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 While I agree that the tyre degradation rate of the Spanish Gp was too high, I don't think Pirelli should make any drastic changes just yet. The Catalunya circuit has a track layout that places a lot of demand on the tires, probably more so than any other circuit. Of course, if the tyres are this bad for the majority of the next few races then Pirelli will need to change the compounds of the tires but not by much.
Floating Fox Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 I can see your point gents but the races are better than the schumacer era when they didn't have gimmicks to help overtaking though..I'd take season's like this over the dominance over the early 2000's....the really were boring races!
anotherharboroughfox Posted 14 May 2013 Posted 14 May 2013 I like it, why not improve the tyres and introduce a minimum pit stop limit, or 3 compounds or something
ADK Posted 15 May 2013 Posted 15 May 2013 I'd like to at least see the drivers able to push at some point during the race.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 15 May 2013 Posted 15 May 2013 Was the race worth a check out? Williams did poor so I don't have much motivation to watch.
isaidno Posted 23 May 2013 Posted 23 May 2013 Rosberg fastest in both practice sessions today. If Mercedes qualify 1-2, they should be able to win this one
Wymsey Posted 23 May 2013 Posted 23 May 2013 Not a big fan of Formula One, but its seems that the current World Champion, Vettel, hasn't performed well in recent races.
Amin Posted 23 May 2013 Posted 23 May 2013 Not a big fan of Formula One, but its seems that the current World Champion, Vettel, hasn't performed well in recent races. He won the second last race and has probably been the only driver this year who has driven very well at every race this season (out of the front runners).
FoxesAreBlue Posted 24 May 2013 Author Posted 24 May 2013 GP2 race start today , crazy I can imagine a lazy steward sitting there thinking that he's going to have an easy weekend in Monaco, enjoy the sun, maybe fish a car or two out of the harbour and catch a stray runaway wheel and then, at the start of the GP2 race.... "Oh for -ing hells sake! It's gonna take ages to sort this shit out!"
Amin Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 This is the first year I have watched every gp2 race and now I fully understand why grosjean and maldonado are the way they are. If cecotto ever makes it to f1 then god help us all.
Guest shearfox Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 Grosjean just can't stop crashing this weekend. Does he ever stop crashing...
Amin Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 Another pole for Rosberg, three in a row now. This time he should be able to win.
Super_horns Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 We don't really want to see Red Bull running away with things again. Did I notice a Caterham came 15th - good for them to get a car into the 2nd session.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 25 May 2013 Author Posted 25 May 2013 Grosjean just can't stop crashing this weekend. That's why he's my Under 40 Bonus!
