Tielemans63 Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 I always back the French and thankfully, they neatly always feck it up spectacularly. Don't hold out much hope for the Irish but I think England could win it although not by winning the slam. Might have a cheeky £5 on the Welsh - I think the last 12 months of looking absolute gash have all been part of a cunning plan.
Finnegan Posted 30 January 2013 Author Posted 30 January 2013 To be fair, we were quite good in the summer we just couldn't close out games enough to win them. Similar situation against Oz in the Autumn. Our bad form is being somewhat exaggerated to sell the drama. If we beat Ireland all of a sudden we'll be a favourite again.

Finnegan Posted 31 January 2013 Author Posted 31 January 2013 To be fair, with the exception of Biggar, that's our backs from last year who are still first choice. Also the Lions first choice front row with Warburton and Faletau. Ireland also missing key names at lock and in the back row. I'm actually cautiously optimistic, if we turn up with the right attitude and plenty of ferocity I can see us winning by more than a converted try.
Uncle Albert Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 I don't usually get into the Rugby but I'm quite interested in it this year, always like watching Wales. Hope England win though.
kingfox Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Bring it on. No Leicester game tomorrow, no good Football matches on Sky, so a day of Six Nations. Come on England, but looking forward to seeing Maitland and Hogg for Scotland.
FoxyPV Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Scotland will get dicked tomorrow, especially after some of the shit the Scottish back room staff having been spouting in the papers. Finners - your lot are going to beat us. With ease.
Bert Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Hopefully we can destroy Scotland. Not a huge rugby fan but love this tournament. Even if it's just for the banter within this thread.
Finnegan Posted 1 February 2013 Author Posted 1 February 2013 Yep, giving England motivation to slap you is the silliest thing to do in rugby. Seen people try it on the Tigers a hundred times.
Alexikokopops Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 I'm watching this down the pub with the not-quite-missus who's a huge Welsh fan (hailing from the beauty spot that is Merthyr). I've figured if I see her in full on rugby mode first then me in angry Leicester mode will be tame by comparison.

Finnegan Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 Lovely place in this instance being a euphemism for "bit like Ibstock."
Simmo86 Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 The man with the most un-Irish name scores the 1st try of this years 6 nations!

FoxyPV Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 fixed Always wait until full time before being smug
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 I've lost count of the amount of times in the Gatland era that we've lost games by only playing one half of rugby. Who gives a **** how good a come back it was? It's a defeat. You can't play fourty minutes of rugby and win.
pSinatra Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Always wait until full time before being smug now?
Guest Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Ireland winning in Wales. Got to win your home games at this level of competition. @ finnegan. Wales played okay in the second half but had a good kicking in the first half and then could only pull back half of the deficit depsite playing against 14 men for 20 minutes in the second. Warburton's claim that they'd win the championship is already looking unlikely. England, scotland next up.
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 You didn't spot the three page thread already at the top of Gen Sport then?
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 now? Pretty safe being smug three scores up with five minutes to go in fairness.
