Nugent left wing?

Recommended Posts

Unless Pearson changes the formation, really cannot see him dropping nugent. And spurs surely wouldn't allow Kane to sit on the bench. Nuge could definitely do a shift left wing?

I think Spurs might be okay for him to sit on the bench and come on for 30 mins.

He's in a team which to a large extent have played decent football, like he'd be expected to play at Spurs. He was barely being used at Norwich and was recalled for cover, but Spurs now don't need that cover so much.

Any minutes he gets here will be a bonus.

I think it would be harsh to drop Nugent or Wood - but Nugent does look like he needs a rest recently, which is odd, as they have had a few rests!

I think due to the games coming thick and fast, Spurs will be happy for him to start on the bench, and as pointed out he can still get a good half hour each game. We also have Nugent who seems to be off the pace a little, maybe a re-occurance of his neck injury? Plus Wood has just returned from injury. Only takes one of the two to get injured and we lack a good striker. From what I've seen (videos) and heard, this Kane is good. Anything like the most recent stiker we have bought in and we will be laughing!

I have no doubt he can play there... buy why shift our top goal scorer to another position?

we should sign either Nahki Wells - Pace to burn and i think he would be happy being an impact player.

or for someone on loan - Simeon Jackson - who i'm sure could play on the wing if need be.

When I saw the topic heading, I thought that Nuge had been spotted down in Gallowtree Gate selling the "Socialist Worker"!

The likes of MattP and Jonthehat wouldn't have been happy with that...

Can't see it working with him out wide. It's one thing having him drop back to supplement midfield a lot, which he already does (and is maybe getting knackered by). But out wide, he'd have to exercise more discipline and stay in position within the formation, which would restrict him from joining the attack very often...

If Kane is indeed coming on loan, I assume it's because NP isn't confident that Vardy, Waghorn and Futacs will contribute enough to sustain the promotion challenge. He certainly needs 3 strikers that he can count on, but doesn't need to be playing them all at the same time. In particular, Nuge faded a bit towards the end of last season and has sometimes looked a bit short recently (unsurprisingly, as he works very hard), so might need to be substituted or rested occasionally...and we need a serious threat coming off the bench, anyway. Vardy seems to have lost confidence for now (wouldn't give up on him yet, though), Waghorn seems to need a run of games, which we can't afford to give him - and there's no sign that Futacs is good enough.

Would anyone who knows more about Kane than me say that if he'd been in when Wood was injured, we wouldn't have lost those few games?

One man doth not a team make.

Never said that, wondering that had he started instead of Vardy would we have been more dangerous?

Lets be honest, the work rate & performance levels weren't there, so whilst he could have kicked one in, we were generally awful all over so I can't see it making that much difference.

Exactly  if we are to maintain our automatic promotion hopes we need 3 strikers of decent standing Wood, Nugent and Kane (loan) will provide that.

"If Kane is indeed coming on loan,"

Can someone bring me up to speed pls

My thoughts exactly!

Twitter comments from supposedly reliable sources suggesting that Harry Kane (young Spurs striker previously on loan to Millwall and Norwich) is coming here on loan. May just be bollocks, of course (no official announcement yet), but the sources are supposedly more reliable than yer usual tittle-tattle...
