Callabinho Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 PS We never went on a run as poor as this under Sven - look it up. We also had no stability, no consistency, didn't spend the majority of the season in the top 6, Had a less than convincing defensive record, got bullied into spending over the odds for average players and payed out astronomical wages......
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 You suppose though that the cause and effect of these things is very short lived - Nigel Pearson's team that reached the play offs was well motivated and had momentum but once he was out of the equation their shortcomings were there for all to see - no keeper, one striker, no midfield and Sousa had them in deep trouble. This suggests that Niges only real skill is motivation and togetherness, which works so far but fails when the tactics are worked out. I 'bang on' about Sven (first post about him in almost a year) because we have not markedly improved since then - we are still capable of going on poor runs and although the squad is a cheaper one now it actually looks like it. My point is not actually about Sven himself, merely that two years ago we expected managers of that background to come to our club, now we have to be happy with NP because he is the best we can get and he doesn't seem up for a job this big to me - I don't care what the owners do as long as they get some football knowledge onto the board and appoint the inevitable next manager wisely. PS We never went on a run as poor as this under Sven - look it up. Nothing is over... Nothing Pearson has had a bad week. The performances, the Tuesday interview... It's been bad. He could go if we lose on Tuesday. That's a real possibility IMO. However, I'm Leicester till I die and I will be backing the players until its mathematically impossible to achieve success. It's not about being a Pearsonite for me. It's about supporting my football club. Balls to Cardiff. If they go up they'll be one of the worst teams to do so in years. I'm still backing us and always will. Pearson or Sven? No fookin contest for me, despite the former's limitations. Get behind em and stay behind em.
Deep Purple Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I know some want Pearson to be sacked, but many of us want him to stay at the club. In this day and age managers get sacked too quickly. Pearson should should be in the club, not out of it while we waste years trying to find another manager who gets us what we want;
Number 6 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Oh how I miss those away 0-0s. What an exciting time it was. In fairness some of the football under Sven was great but his tenure was an absolute disaster.
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Some people are too quick to fire the gun, January nigel pearson was manager of the month and we had won 5 in a row, all of a sudden we hit a bad run as most sides do at some stage, and everybody is on his back, lay off him for once he's had us in the top 6 all season, maybe if we get behind him and the lads we can turn this around together instead of knocking them further and jumping on the manager to be sacked again wagon!! He's building us a young hungry squad who will only improve.
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Just to combat the doom mongerers, Pearson must stay unless you want to end the season now and go through another merry go round of players, with no guarantee of ending up in a better position than we are in now. WE ARE 5TH! The best position we have been in for years, so shut the fook up. Well said!! nigel's built us AGAIN a good young squad, try getting behind him even when we do have a bad run as we are now instead of getting on his and the lads backs!!
5waller5 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Well there's 3 of us then, I agree Sven should have been given more time, NP did well for us the first time around but bringing him back was a big mistake. History will show it was a bad decision for the club and for Pearson! 4 of us .... entirely agree.

You've been quite readable lately .... and then back to "please give me rep points" rubbish!
Deep Purple Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Managers get sacked far too quickly these days. Pearson should be given the time and support that he deserves
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Amazing, absolutely unbelievable, we have no idea of the restrictions Pearson is under, he puts together a decent squad that gets up to the top of the league without the luxury of a large squad. We have no idea of the fitness issues the team are facing and now it is even worse. He is slated as being naive, stubborn and clueless, yet had tried other formations and the players available and all you want is he head. The worst thing is I am not a big fan of his but I don't have a issue with what he has achieved so far and without more I info would find it hard to understand why he should be sacked. Then again I don't play FM or think I know enough about the game to judge him, or think I could do a better job.

Well at least we have that now!!!!!

It's obvious he's not upto it - so let's get someone more capable.
Corky Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Oh how I miss those away 0-0s. What an exciting time it was. In fairness some of the football under Sven was great but his tenure was an absolute disaster. He suffered from what Pearson has done recently. Got a formula that worked and got us into form, before changing it for no apparent reason and stalling. We are better off without him. We could be better off without Pearson, we'll have to see.

A return to sustainability whilst making a competitive team could have been the target with the aim of winning promotion during the term of his contract. Winning the league by 20pts on a relative shoestring (compared to what happened before) also could have been the target. They haven't said a single thing other than they want the club to be in the Premier League at some point. Which only adds to speculation and unfounded conjecture, the only actual evidence we can see from the outside is that huge undertakings on sustainability have been carried out by the management team. All evidence points to the aim certainly not seeming to be promotion, yesterday, whatever the cost. Else surely the funds would have been there for a larger squad & also for the manager to not have to target a complete roster of young players around 20 years old who will improve over the duration of his contract & also that will count as assets as their value will increase over the midterm. Equally I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't sacked after 10mins at Cardiff tomorrow night if we're not winning... Such is the uncertain nature of their silence.

Such is the uncertain nature of their silence. In fairness the owners tried to stay out of the last Redknapp fiasco and as you say we don't know enough be able to draw worthwhile conclusions, it's hard to see us getting much from the Cardiff game but at least he hasn't had the vote of confidence. I don't disagree with what you say about Pearson getting sacked if we lose, I do feel that if would be a questionable action if it happpens.

Leicester_lad_92 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Every side has a bad run now lets get out of this together, we've had a great season so far with some good football, we know what the lads are capable of getting on their backs isnt going to help!! People do love a moan, top 6 ALL season, good entertaining football for the majority of the season and all of a sudden because of a bad 1 1/2 months... Pearson out? oh dear We're Leicester City when have we ever done it the easy way?... lets push the lads on to secure a top 6 finish, remember the only other time we finished above 8th in the last 10 years was under Pearson too...lay off him a little-.-
5waller5 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 All the 'Sven ites' are crawling back out now... Fickle fookin football fans!! Crawling back out?? Or saying the same that they've said all along - but it hurts more now because you know it's true?
Guest Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Will me make play offs? You? Unlikely. City? Quite possibly.
Number 6 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Although there is some strong opposition to NP on here I don't think that came across from the stands on Saturday. Although not hugely vocal the crowd did seem to spend their efforts encouraging the team, even when it was evident that a point was the most we were going to get.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Crawling back out?? Or saying the same that they've said all along - but it hurts more now because you know it's true? Err wasn't the idea to win the title at least. Under Sevn we never looked like achieving anything apart from bankruptcy.
MattyFromLE Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Pearson has nothing more to give us, does not motivate, players can't/wont respond to him. Nothing on the bench that's going to remotely help us out of this crisis. From here Pearson will send us into football oblivion. That's why the owners will do the right thing and sack him, then get somebody in who can motivate and get the players confidence back. HE'S JUST GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ohhhhhhh! Got to say, I didn't get your point until you used capitals and 4,000 exclamation marks.
