LJS Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 One thing that no one can dispute is that with each loss and certainly with each gutless, idealess and insipid display, the tipping point approaches. He was doing so well and he's completely fu cked it up. Absolutely. I've supported him previously but I've lost all patience. He can go tomorrow, as far as I'm concerned. The atmosphere changed yesterday. On the way put people were talking about likely successors. People are realising that he has shot his load. I wouldn't be shocked to see his departure announced tomorrow. Failing victories in our next two games I struggle to see him surviving another week.
LJS Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 So, ( in the Style of Monty Python) apart from the League 1 Championship, the top 6 finish the following season, the refuced wage bill, the introduction of young/hungry players, the tightest defence, the best goal difference, the top 6 position for most of this season) what has Pearson ever done for LCFC?? He won League One. So he should have. He managed a top six second tier finish. He is the latest in a very long line. Stop being so blinkered. He has achieved nothing that should not be expected as the norm.
Mark_w Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Sven is being blamed for spending or wasting money, but he was just following the owners remit to get up as quickly as possible, how else was he to do it with a average squad?. I believe the owners lost their nerve and pulled the trigger. Right so he took, pretty much, the 'average' squad that Pearson got into the play-offs, spent millions of pounds on it, and had us sitting outside the play-offs. How on earth is the fact that his signings weren't good enough to get us into the top six anything to do with the owners. They shouldn't have been spending that much money in the first place, but Sven wasted an awful lot of it.
Harry - LCFC Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Christ, bit of a football Stalinist aren't we? If people pay their money they can watch however they want. You do what you like and let others do what they want. It isn't really that important. It's just football. Most people go because it's fun. They want to see their mates. Or get away from the wife for a couple of hours. In the scheme of things it just doesn't matter. Well I'd appreciate it if these people kept their opinions to themselves. If they don't care enough to watch the match then I'm not particularly interested in their opinion. I just feel there's too much anger involved with going to post on FT during a match, it's uneccessary and can wait until the final whistle. Especially when it was quite possible that we could've gone on to win the match - would they be complaining then? Anyway, people can do what they want I suppose, I just don't like that kind of behaviour much. I suppose mine is just another complaint about the general negative attitude of fans at the club.
Rocky Dennis Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Oh I see, we are ignoring the fall outs, the bottling of the play offs a few years ago, the comments against fans and the club and indeed the recent massive collapse? Well, yes, if you ignore all the recent, relevant stuff, all the other negatives and focus entirely on redundant past positives (all with financial backing etc) then of course he looks good. If you take anything and only focus on the positive, it looks good. There should be a junior foxestalk for the idiots and let the rest of us get on with it. I know that would only be about 20 posters, but it would be a lot better. Fall outs? - is this a fact or opinion? Bottling the play-offs? - please explain? We beat Cardiff 3-2 away from home, is that bottling it? Comments against the fans? Dyou mean "delusions of grandeur"? Ironic if you're criticising him for that!
Rocky Dennis Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 He won League One. So he should have. He managed a top six second tier finish. He is the latest in a very long line. And the only one here since Micky Adams, so is relevant in my eyes! 10 years, 10 managers, yet we're still in div 2. Your answer is to sack yet another? genius!!
johnny the fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Right so he took, pretty much, the 'average' squad that Pearson got into the play-offs, spent millions of pounds on it, and had us sitting outside the play-offs. They shouldn't have been spending that much money in the first place, but Sven wasted an awful lot of it. You obviously didn't see or read any of seven's recent interviews. he had nothing to do with the money side of the business. so he directly wasted none.
Mark_w Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 You obviously didn't see or read any of seven's recent interviews. he had nothing to do with the money side of the business. so he directly wasted none. Maybe not, but he asked for all of those players to be signed, he said that in his interview, and many of them simply weren't good enough. You'll see that I said 'they shouldn't have been spending that much money', so I do blame the owners for spending ridiculous amounts, however it's Sven's fault that the money was spent on a number of players who simply weren't good enough.

dannythefox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 I've chilled out a little since yesterday and I've made my mind up it's playoffs at best now. Our squad is not good enough to compete for a top two spot in the last 6 games teams have walked through our midfield. If Pearson continues to play players out of position we will fall out of the playoffs. My friend came along yesterday whos a Newcastle fan and he was saying Pearson has no tactics since we was playing well other managers have sussed us out. Yesterday there must of been a hole behind our strikers about 6 or 7 times which none of players were running in to we need to start playing Marshall or Knockaret there full time if were going to get anywhere.
LJS Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 And the only one here since Micky Adams, so is relevant in my eyes! 10 years, 10 managers, yet we're still in div 2. Your answer is to sack yet another? genius!! The problem is not the number of managers we've had but the quality of them. What you're doing here - and it's a common mistake so don't be too hard on yourself - is conflating correlation and causation.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 I accepted it last night so i won't be shocked

Dyou feel superior to me now?
LJS Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Ah I see, you're going down the 'fancy word' route huh? Dyou feel superior to me now? The fancy word route? That's how I speak, son. Good argument though.
MattyFromLE Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Gutted if he goes. Boo boys will have their way, Square one here we come!
whoareyaaa Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Those must win games seem so must win now don't they! idiots.
Grewks Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 The owners need a good hard luck at themselves. When they first arrived they wanted a 'famous name' in football, so NP was pushed out and Sousa failed, as did sven last season. NP has a squad full of only around 13 capable players. Players like gallagher, wellens, danns, vardy, waghorn, beckford are clearly not good enough, and only 1 of these is a pearson signing with the intention of improving the squad this year. 10 managers in 10 years suggests to me that the chopping and changing is not working. Let's say we bring di canio or adkin in - we will have the usual bullshit of 'it takes 12 months to build a squad' etc. So we are already ruling out promotion. NP has a better championship record than both di canio (never managed at this level) and adkins (one good season). I just hope the thais do the sensible thing and offer NP a new contract, otherwise this club will go in decline. Let me ask the boo boys this... A mid-table team last season, spent less money this season and reduced the amount of players and wages....so what gives us the 'automatic' right to a top 2 finish?? The only reason a top 2 finish has been on the cards all season is down to NP. Last year we were a shambles, this year he has turned it around. If i was using your logic, maybe swansea should sack laudrup next year if he doesn't win the Prem??

I hope the boo boys are ready for a steady decline for the next 18 months!

So Adkins get promotion and plays really good football and Pearson got in the playoffs once and Pearson has a better record?
MattyFromLE Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 If Pearson is wrongly or rightly sacked - and we get a new guy in. What happens when we lose the Charlton, Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday and go on a 10 games patch of poor form...do we sack him too? My point is why do people think sacking a manager is going to help? What do you hope we will achieve by doing this?
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Look at the talent Pearson has brought into this club! We're still 5th.. Take Knockaert for example, no-one knew who he was and were saying even before he signed he'd be "another kermorgant"..
