Pearson In/Out

First year took over with them near the bottom, nearly reached the playoffs

Second year got them to the playoff final without spending a penny

Third year went up as champions without spending a penny and even managed to con us out of 4 million for Matt Mills

The mans a bleeding genius!

I wouldn't say he was a genius, just a good manager. Although I think he did spend a bit of money, they brought Le Fondre, for example. Did con us out of millions for an overrated Matt Mills, which obviously had nothing to do with Nige as he wasn't our manager at the time.

Got out of this division once at three attemps (I think it's three). This year will be Nigel's third attempt as well, and in that time he has guided an average side to the play offs, just like McDermott did.

Also worth noting, as I said in the other thread, Reading won 3 out of 10 games (I think it was 10, maybe more) at the start of last season. They lost at home to the likes of Millwall and Barnsley (no disrespect). I wonder how many Reading fans were on his back then? I wonder how many fans supported him?

In terms of him being tactically flexible. I remember Reading beating us at home, all they did were knock the ball up to Kebe who flicked it on. And, he was at Reading for about 10 years (?) prior to him actually getting the manager's job.

fourth (City play offs, Hull 10th, City 8th, City ????)

Fair play, I stand corrected.

My point still stands though.

think we should stick with NFP till the season ends,if this so called blip goes on for another 11 games then its more than just that, ends up being nearly half a season ,more than enough time to sort things out, if he's capable?

For those ill inclined to read all 30 pages of this now gargantuan thread, allow me to summarise courtesy of an unnecessarily racist caricature of Serena Williams, courtesy of the Aussie Telegraph:

This is it exactly. The worrying thing is that our early season form is down to the team "spoiling" us in terms of quality - NFPs words. No Pearson, it's called dominating teams and believing in what you do, it's what's needed to get out of this league and its what needed to stand a faint hope of playing in a similar fashion in the Premier League without lasting one season in it.

Unfortunately for us, NFP is now setting up our team in exactly the same way as he did two/three years ago and our free flowing passing game of the early season seems a long long way away now. It's a damage limitation exercise and if it continues we will fall short of 6th imo.

This negativity in tactical play, setup, call it what you like - it has spread throughout the playing squad like a virus and it's affecting everyone to the point where we are scrapping against non footballing sides and are calling for some midfield hardnut that we do not possess. We didn't need a midfield hardnut early season because we played teams off the field of play. Instead of playing to our strengths we struggle along in some feeble attempt to get something out of games rather than impose ourselves on the opposition.

It's a shambles and considering the playing squad at our disposal, yes it may be small, no complaints there, but we are far better than this.

I don't expect much out of tomorrow's game and our two recent home performances have screwed us up imo. 6/10 away from home? You can bet Pearson will set us up to limit ourselves to 1-0 hopeful wins. We'll fall short.

I'm a Pearson backer, but agree with every word of this.

That would all be fine to say if it were YOUR club ... it's not.

This club belongs to me, you - to anyone who calls themselves a Leicester City supporter. We've all got our opinions, and mine is that 'fans' like that are not wanted and I'm sure I'm not alone in that opinion either.

So by that logic it belongs as much to the person you don't want to see at the ground as it does you.

Good manager though

Knows how to get out of the division, tactically flexible........

If only we had a man...........

And about to bring his team back to the Championship with players now on prem wages and financial constraints soon to be a fact of life.

Yes I did. Your point being? I've always been fair to whichever manager is in charge. Me not going is no reflection on the team or the manager. It's more a reflection on people like you.

No, what you're saying is a joke, fella. How can it have been going for months when little over a month ago we were 2nd? How do you work that one out? You don't get to 2nd on a 'blip', that's a retarded claim. I think it's telling that we've had such a mare over the last month or so and we're still 5th. We must have been doing something right before then.

What about the 7 we went unbeaten earlier in the season, with 6 wins? Have you forgotten about that? Did these people want to hand in their season tickets during that run as well?

You're wrong, these people are too quick to stop going if their reasoning is the team. They're really, really immature, childish even, if they're too pussy to handle a bad run without acting like little girls and throwing a hissy fit. We've gone from 2nd to 5th, it really isn't that bad. If they've been supporting us for 30 years they've seen a lot worse than this, I don't think I need to give you examples, there are plenty from the last 5 years alone.

I haven't seen a lot of games this season, but I've already seen more quality performances this season than the whole of last, of which I saw the most part.

I really wish these people would stop going and never come back; flushing out these disloyal, immature, miserable turdbags might actually help convince me to start going again. It's those kind of people that are poison to the club, the ones who give up and turn on the manager at any sign of trouble, probably because they've already made their mind up about him before anything has been proved yet. If they were in the army they'd be court martialed, if they were friends they'd quickly become strangers, and as football fans they piss every true supporter off.

You didn't like Pearson before he came back so it's no surprise you still want him out at the drop of a hat despite him obviously and statistically improving the team. Admit it, like so many you'd already made your mind up about him before he came and that bias still lives with you.

What is it about the pro Pearson posters? Why do they have to get so personal while defending their meissiah?

As for pissing off true supporters well I'm not sure quite why they piss you off as you don't qualify by chosing not to go because you don't like some of the fans.

I'm sick and tired of the constant looking back at the managers we've had over the last 10 years and then bottling it about looking for improvement.

I've followed this team for 40 years now, I'm entitled to an opinion on a message board, it doesn't mean that I don't shout and cheer when I'm at the game.

First of all, I suppose I can be classed as 'pro Pearson'. I don't get personal defending him, but none of us ever say he is our 'meissiah'. He isn't, he is the manager of the football club we all support.

I get fed up with the 'anti Pearson' fans that don't say anything when we are unbeaten in six games, yet when we lose a few, you all come out. Like it or not, Nigel himself was right the other day when he said at this point in the season the negative fans come out. Of course we are all entitled to our own opinion, because we are all fans, but I just get constantly bored of seeing 'Pearson out' after a defeat... We have to look back at the last ten years to compare him to other managers. It is fact that in the past ten years, only two managers have achieved; Micky Adams and Nigel Pearson.

Obviously. Doesn't change my opinion that I couldn't give a toss whether they're turning their backs on the club and that I'd rather they weren't there though, does it?

I don't like the terms 'lovers' and 'haters' so I threw 'messiah' in instead.

I don't believe the anto Pearson posters are any worse, the amount of 'where are they now' during a decent phase is just as bad as when the anti Pearson posters are the majority following an awful performance.

It's a football board, people wouldn't be on here if it wasn't to read or post differing opinions, it's the name calling that gets out of hand.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and if all those that disagreed with you stopped going then we would be well in the shit next season, I'd imagine that 25k crowds are more important than 10k crowds who fully support the team however they are playing.

We're all fans/supporters, we all want the team to win, the difference perhaps is that some of us have supported the team for such a long time that we know that we'll still be there next season whatever happens to the manager of this season.

So on your reckoning 15K will stop going. You're crazy! If they don't want to support fair enough they can **** off, I just wish they'd **** off this forum first!

I never said people who disagreed with me should stop going - I'm happy for people to disagree with me, it makes life more interesting. What I said was that if fans who've been supporting the club 'for over 30 years' are willing to abandon the team after a poor patch spanning just one month, then as far as I'm concerned they won't be missed and I hope they don't come back if that's the case.
