iamafox Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 How have Blackburn spent £4.95m when they spent £8m on Jordan Rhodes?
Corky Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 How have Blackburn spent £4.95m when they spent £8m on Jordan Rhodes? It must take into account players sold.

Yeah, lets ignore previous seasons and indeed wages. The players are probably playing for free.
iamafox Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 It must take into account players sold. I would have understood if the title was named 'Transfer profits/losses made by Championship clubs'.
Fox92 Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 lol All the Cardiff fans that come on here and say it's us buying the league.
Alexikokopops Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 So if you only look at this season, ignore the period where we spent the GDP of a small African country on a daily basis (under Sven), ignore the wages we're still paying from that period, and use estimated fees that no one actually knows then we're not as big spending as some other teams? Well that's good to know.

Well that's good to know. But they have all gone now... Mills, Bamba, Peltier, Beckford, Danns etc. High earners gone and we have bought in young players who will all be sold for more than what we paid for?
LJS Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 They will only be sold for more than we paid if they turn out to be any good. Being young is a guarantee of nothing. And Danns and Beckford haven't gone. There isn't a chance Huddersfield will be paying anything close to a full contribution. I'd be amazed if they are paying close to half.
MC Prussian Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 Cardiff aren't buying the league, Blackburn automatic promotion contenders... Oops. Astonishing also the fact that Bristol City have spent maybe a little bit too much beyond their means. No disrespect.
Craig Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 Lamby... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18769649 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19401351 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/irishsun/4669466/Feely-good-Kev-tipped-to-make-grade-at-Charlton.html Stop chatting bullshit.

Mills, Bamba, Peltier, Beckford, Danns etc. High earners gone and we have bought in young players who will all be sold for more than what we paid for? Yeah, but if a commentator calls us "big spending" then if you take into account our recent spending they're not exactly wrong because that table is just a small subset of the data. Plus we still have Beckford, Danns and St Ledger on our books and I can't imagine Wood is being payed in coppers. In short, people seem to get their knickers in a twist when we get referred to as "big spending" Leicester when, in reality, if you look at the past couple of years it's a fair tag.

Yes we did, but we sold them so we're not anymore
