Well Wellens still has a year on his contract (2014) and Gally has 2 years (2015). I doubt many clubs below the PL can or would want to pay their wages, like wise Danns (2014) and Beckford (2015). dynamark Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Danns scored at the weekend as well.Gally im afraid no at this level sure he can make a living for a few years div 1 and good luck to him.Danns is a odd one may be able to lift a team through his 'activity'but always a worry hes going to get booked or give away a free kick. Good attitude by the looks of it and someone may take a punt on him.Could not accuse him of not doing his bit for us
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Why do Gally, Waghorn and Wellens play for the LCFC under 21's?
Grewks Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Surely not playing Gally and wellens would be more beneficial? No wonder we rarely produce many decent players, all their game time is wasted in the 'has been' players left in the squad.
z-layrex Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Why do Gally, Waghorn and Wellens play for the LCFC under 21's? Each team sheet may contain the names of one over age goalkeeper and three over age outfield players.
indierich06 Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Why do Gally, Waghorn and Wellens play for the LCFC under 21's? It's the development squad, you're allowed to play three overage players in every match - makes the level more competitive for the Under 21s and allows unfit/out of favour players to get game time. Fox92 Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 No wonder we rarely produce many decent players, all their game time is wasted in the 'has been' players left in the squad. However, it does help these players getting fit for when they are required to step in for the first team. It could also help the younger players as well. But to be fair, Moore and Schlupp are both decent players who have come through in recent years.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Oh right didnt know that. Rather play some youth players in their place though.
goose2010 Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 playing a mixture of youth and experience is good all round, the youth will gain a lot of support off the experienced heads and the experienced players will get the match fitness they need. Surely playing with more experienced players (and against - the other side can have overage players too, remember) can only be beneficial to our kids? It's much closer to an actual competitive game situation than it was before when it was just kids vs kids.

ramadaone Posted 8 April 2013 Share Posted 8 April 2013 Oh right didnt know that. Rather play some youth players in their place though. This is what most teams have done but its a tough call when you have got a big squad like us We have set out stall out to win this league rather than use it to blood a few more youngsters and it looks like we have achieved our goal so fair play Winning becomes a habit and Beags definitely doesn't do losing !!
