Captain... Posted 9 April 2013 Author Posted 9 April 2013 Most of the sillier posts were 3 or 4 years ago when many are just spouting nonsense out of bravado. I don't know if this particular girl is right for the job, from the little I heard on the radio I wasn't over impressed, but my main point is about having some statute of limitation on youthful indiscretions. There is a parallel debate about whether employers should have the right to monitor your social media activity. There are a number of debates going on about this sort of thing, but in my eyes it depends on whether or not you have actually committed a crime, if you are expected to work with the police and you have made genuinely racist comments on twitter, then I think it is relevant, and if getting a job with the police it should be looked into. If you had an applicant who had past associations with the BNP or EDL, you would like to be aware of them before offering them the job, especially if it is a job in the public eye.
KFS Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 What school did you go to? Agree with your comments wholeheartedly. Maidstone Grammar (Barton Road) here. Rainham Mark Grammar
KFS Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 Few things: Do we even need police in Kent anyway? My Dad is a Detective Inspector of Major Crime based in Kent- the answer to your question is that we need police more than ever in there.
ealingfox Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 My Dad is a Detective Inspector of Major Crime based in Kent- the answer to your question is that we need police more than ever in there. Yes, but when amongst the Major Crimes are counted stealing all the bails from the local cricket club, or writing 'Ya boo sucks' on the ornate fountain in the town centre I think you need some perspective But seriously, whats going down? Fair enough the border crossings, Dover etc, bound to be stuff going on there but I imagine thats a different police matter altogether?
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 Still can't decide if i'd smash it or not. Top two photos look alright, Clearly a bit chavy, but we all love a bit of that really........ occasionally...... don't we? bit of filth, probably need to double bag it but this is not going to break the deal. The bottom photo.....well it's not a good one is it, she looks like an over weight Bet Lynch with two caterpillars crawling across her forhead. Can someone go on her Twitter account and get a few more photos? I've got a report to run. Thanks.
HEGGSY Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 lol "So unattractively drunk" Seems she must be pissed in every photo...
1964FOX Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 £15k!!?... I should have applied. That's the point you couldn't because she was appointed, more than likely without any selection process and more than likely she a daughter of someone known to the PCC as they have the power to do that.

She was chosen from 164 candidates. She's resigned Quitter
ADK Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 I'm sure she can start a career as a reality tv star now.

Posted 9 April 2013 Author Posted 9 April 2013 http://news.sky.com/...ris-brown-quits "The teenager due to become Britain's first youth crime commissioner has withdrawn from the role after a string of offensive comments on Twitter Foxestalk" The offensive comments were hers, nothing to do with the what anyone else said, I think most people couldn't give a shit, but it sells copy to expose her as a foul mouthed, racist, thug. I don't think she has even started yet, all they've done is parade her round on national TV saying look at me, look at her, look at us, aren't we modern and progressive, should have spent more time checking into her background.

Yeah I was joking. Not sure why she was even considered for that 'post' considering everything she had said before. Not sure what that job would even help do anyway, probably nothing, should look to spend the money elsewhere imo.
MC Prussian Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 Err, were there no background checks or are the conditions in Kent THAT bad that they have to go for third or fourth string for police jobs? Embarrassing behaviour given her position and status. Sad example of how mankind is (apparently) deteriorating.
BoneDog Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 Do we even need police in Kent anyway? Yes. Somebody's got to tip off the major drug dealers when the heat is on!

Fair enough the border crossings, Dover etc, bound to be stuff going on there but I imagine thats a different police matter altogether? Gillingham and Chatham are utter shitholes, I'd honestly rather walk around Nottingham at night than in there. On a serious note, he has some pretty nasty cases which you may have seen him on the news for recently. Like everywhere, there are the good places and bad. I'm not saying it's the ghetto but for some reason the crime rate has increased and it doesn't help that the Police are undergoing cuts. Obviously it isn't just Kent, for me its like a meta-narrative on wider policing issues- they're stripping the force down to the bare bones. That's why it is even more insulting when initiatives like bringing this girl in come into play.
