Unabomber Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Anyone tried any of the Icelandic Einstok beers? Keep seeing them pop up in a few gaffs. Are they the pale/white beers? Nothing special imo.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Are they the pale/white beers? Nothing special imo. Yeah they do a couple of them as well as a porter, think I've seen them in Taps; I'll swerve them.
Unabomber Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Yeah they do a couple of them as well as a porter, think I've seen them in Taps; I'll swerve them. Yeah same, my brother always has them. If you are in to IPA's then they will seem very insipid.
Carl the Llama Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Tackling a 750ml bottle of this tonight. 1st time I've tried it and it's mega. I tend to avoid other Leffes but my word their brown ale's moreish.
Leicfox Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I tend to avoid other Leffes but my word their brown ale's moreish. It surely is, I'll defo be buying again. Tonight I found this on the reduced section in Morrison's for £0.59p.
Merging Cultures Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I'm stopping booze for a bit. So I'll live vicariously through this thread.
Rincewind Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Tomorrow 2pm the Leicester Mercury will be at the Kings Head reporting on them winning the pub of the year.

Nalis Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 By new local serves Cornish Pilsner and its genuinely one of the best beers I've ever had. Bit pricey though! Got a real taste for Pilsner and Kolsch recently.
Leicfox Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Had a pint of each of these last night in my local Spoons. I wasn't keen on the milk stout but enjoyed the Dent stout and the Punk IPA.
Rincewind Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 I want to go here. Its in a place called Huby which is in Harrogate near York, Yorkshire. Terry Pratchett fans will recognise it.
Finnegan Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Here's half of a collection that showed up mail order. The missus found it on Groupon. Don't know anything about any of them other than they're all German and wheat beers.
Unabomber Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Brewdog Leicester is going to be amazing, the guest line up is fantastic.
Voll Blau Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Brewdog Leicester is going to be amazing, the guest line up is fantastic. Seen the price list though. Gonna be going for the trenter percenter high ABVs to get my money's worth when I pop in.
Unabomber Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Seen the price list though. Gonna be going for the trenter percenter high ABVs to get my money's worth when I pop in. It is standard for the beers though as they have to import etc and you get what you pay for. I might as well buy some shares as I am gonna be dropping some serious dolla in there.

Find myself always going for the big boy beers when you're paying over the odds though. Needs to do a job.
