Rincewind Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 The beers aren't so expensive in my opinion £4 -£5 for a really good pint is good value compared to some of the crap out there, Criterion charge £4.80 for a schooner of Lagunitas IPA I can appreciate that the ales are decent. In their booklet it says they use more hops/malt which costs more to brew. However I rarely drink lager and the guest ales that I have in other places are quite drinkable at £3. I may well go in Brewdog again but only for 1/2 or just a pint. I do not have the income for a longer session unfortunately. The one I had was nice though.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 not as catchy imo. imagine the #LADs at the top of the strip "you going the bar? yeah let's go the bar" THE DREAM. also involving a region again narrows the potential customer base, people from the east side ain't gonna come for a pint in a north western named banter bar are they? did you learn nothing from 90s hip-hop? U melty old norris
Finnegan Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 U melty old norris Rather a melty old norris than a minty old tinman.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 Check out fin usin my own lines against me now he's had half a lager beer
Rincewind Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 Might go to brewdog pre match tomorrow If I go anywhere it will be Kings Head. Was not gonna bother but sort of said to someone I might go in for the game and watch the results on skysports. I'll listen to the game on my phone or MP3 player.
Voll Blau Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Had a nice pint of Hop Stuff from the Wollwocih Brewery in the Swan on Saturday. Surprisingly, it was hoppy. Aslo had some Hobgoblin Gold in the Polar Bear which I think I prefer to the original. A decent summery drop.
Leicfox Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Picked one of these up for later, I'm looking forward to it too.
Voll Blau Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Saltaire do a lot of tasty brews. Their Blonde is perfection. Raspberry Blonde decent too.
Haydos Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Their Blonde is perfection. Raspberry Blonde decent too. Yeah, I'm a fan of that and their chocolate stout as well. Just realised that was the picture you posted
Carl the Llama Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Finally tried this Doom Bar everyone was talking about pages ago. I'd describe the flavour as ordinary with a dash of watery to finish. Very disappointing and now I am wary of trusting this thread in future.

I expected it to be heavier and more flavoursome than it was.

I take back what I said about this thread.
Webbo Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Doom bar often gets a bumming on here. I've never seen the big deal myself.

It's grown on me as it's gone down, very full flavour. Old Thumper is fine ale.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 April 2015 Posted 23 April 2015 Been in the Brewdog a couple of times, nice gaff - food is bloody overpriced, mind.
Rincewind Posted 23 April 2015 Posted 23 April 2015 I saw on a message on Facebook where Brewdog are going to open some hotels and have draught beer in the rooms. I bet that will be fun.
Unabomber Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Leicester Brewdog is the best one ive been in, wow so proud x
