WhatsHisName Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Now we know what was going on with Jake the Peg and his extra leg. Who next from my childhood? To think I used to like watching all these programmes as a nipper. I've always had my doubts about Bungle from Rainbow as he seemed a bit dodgy. But all this is showing that those b**tards who thought they could get away with abusing children will now have to pay for what they did.
surrifox Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 clip from a show he did in the seventies they played on radio 5 this morning: Harris (leerily) "get 'em off" Young female "no" Harris "I said get 'em off" Girl " but I'm only 13" Harris "that's OK - I'm not superstitious" yeurgh - unbelievably the audience roared with laughter

Alf Bentley Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 I've always had my doubts about Bungle from Rainbow as he seemed a bit dodgy. Another BBC cover-up. Bungle's colleague on Rainbow was going to blow the whistle, but management told him to zip it. police have just lifted the aging scooby doo and shaggy.. they are searching his kennel as we speak.. Stop press: Shaggy is in custody, after police found him giving the dog a bone. They are interrogating him about the reasons for his nickname. In other news, Captain Haddock has been admitted to the Priory Clinic, Dylan from Magic Roundabout is up on a charge of possession with intent to supply and Mr. Benn is doing time for shoplifting from clothing retailers.

Buzzell Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Just look at this shocking thing from Rainbow Is that shit real?!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 "Sky Sources: firm handling claims against Jimmy Savile's estate says 12 women have come forward with allegations of abuse by Rolf Harris" I find it troubling that people make any sort of "claims" by which I'm sure they mean monetary. Putting financial gain into the equation could lead to all sorts of false claims. Exactly. There must be many people jumping on the financial band wagon. It leaves me seriously worried.
Captain... Posted 2 July 2014 Posted 2 July 2014 Is that shit real?! No it's been doing the rounds for years, it was a joke they did for something.
fuchsntf Posted 3 July 2014 Posted 3 July 2014 Exactly. There must be many people jumping on the financial band wagon. Everything weirdly, exotically, rebelously, targetted, proudly immaginative demonsrative approach to our lives, Leaves me of Savilles, Harris's generation, shamed and a very bad taste in my mouth, when now explaining our diverse and controversial free thoughts, to our children. The star/promi of the time, or anytime I have never idolized, but were always in the background of my youth. A superb music mix of Savilles and his wackyness we somehow admired, even I as a heavy rock fan, loved the unusuallness and approach of the entertainment that Harris offered. Now like it or not the famous and not so famous of this time in our lives have been tainted. The sexual indecent aggressor may well of been born of our generation

The sexual indecent aggressor may well of been born of our generation I doubt very much that it's a one generation thing. It has always happened and will always happen. I'm ashamed to say it as human being but this kind of thing is a part of human nature it's what people are born with, and as long as those kind of people become rich and famouse they will use that fame and fortune to indulge their sexual preferences. The only difference is that the powers that be have seen fit to do something about it this time around . but it won't stop it.
WhatsHisName Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 ''Rolf Harris is due to be sentenced for indecently assaulting four girls - including one who was seven or eight - in the 1960s, 70s and 80s''.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28140334 The b*stard should will now pay for what he did. He will either spend the rest of his life in jail, or he'll spend some time inside then have to face the real world. I grew up watching him, and I even liked 'rolfs animal hospital', but now I know what a nasty piece of work he really is. Could the judge have him sentenced to be strung up on a lamp-post ?

Stuff like the age of consent is a relatively modern construct, and although intended to protect younger folk it doesn't take people's urges away. Where the problem seems to come is in situations where people get into positions of power over their targets - be it an MP in Westminster, a Radio 1 DJ inexplicably given the run of institutions, some priests running a children's home, and (probably most depressing of all), domineering parents in dysfunctional families etc etc, where you basically do whatever the **** you like because who's going to stop you? Our indulgence of celebrity certainly seems to have strengthened the position of the likes of Harris* and Saville, to the point it's hard to get your head round. *Rolf not Keith
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life, just a shame he wasn't caught earlier
johnny the fox Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 The police are taking no further action on his downloading of kiddie porn.. not in the interest of justice.
Nick Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 In a weird way, quite possibly a cruel sentence as it gives him hope of getting out before dying..... which dependent on where he serves time may be unlikely.
Guest MattP Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 The police are taking no further action on his downloading of kiddie porn.. not in the interest of justice. Lovely isn't it, a country that now turns the other cheek to it's citizens downloading child porn.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 5 years 9 months.. Ouch! Lovely isn't it, a country that now turns the other cheek to it's citizens downloading child porn. Context is all, Mr Matthew. The CPS aren't bringing charges because a conviction for a more serious crime has been secured - what's the point in having another trial for a lesser charge, and I can't believe I'm saying this at the tax payer's expense - to convict someone who, lets be honest, has now got a good chance of dying inside. I think it suggests that they knew they'd got a pretty much watertight case on the indecent assault charges, and it's hardly a sign that the country is now going soft on sex offenders - Rolf's just got a fairly hefty sentence for lesser crimes than the ones Jimmy Saville never even got arrested for, so I'd say the opposite is the case. I expect a lot of people are looking over their shoulders. Be interesting to see what happens with the Geoffrey Dickens dossier thing

If so could serve less than half that I'd imagine, which is nowhere near long enough.
