Just over a year ago, maybe nearer two, I saw Rolf Harris and his band playing live at a folk festival. They were terrific and he did all the old favourites which we all sang along with and applauded him for. Maybe for him that applause never ever happening again will be a significant part of his punishment?

Everything that he has achieved throughout his life will be completely wiped out and valueless, no one will want to know now. He is a creep, pervert and paedaphile... There aren't many worse than that...

5 years, 9 months?! What the fvck? Ridiculous sentence, why is it so low?

Because those were the sentencing guidelines when the acts took place, if it had happend more recently he would have received a longer sentence.

The length of the sentence doesn't bother me, would like to see him stripped of all his assets and his wealth given to victim support charities and such like. A longer jail term won't really mean shit to an 86 year old man, he isn't really a danger to society any more. Being discredited and stripped of his wealth would be more of a punishment. What benefit is there in locking him up for any longer?

The b*stard. He will spend the rest of his life paying for this, and although I've never like Vanessa Feltz, she's done a good thing by telling the police about this as it could not only encourage to come forward. Rolf could spend longer in prison than we had thought.

She could have done a much better thing by telling the police at the time. I'm amazed in this case and in the Savile case how it was just an open secret that he was sexually assaulting people and nobody did anything about it.

I suspect they were worried that nobody would believe them if they told the police, as people like Rolf and Savile were considered to be wonderful decent people, and anybody claiming otherwise would most likely not have been believed.

I remember he did a tv show from Moat Community College in the 80's, they had (still have?) one of his giant paintings on the wall of their hall / theatre. My dad was working there and got me his autograph and a load of "Rolf on saturday - OK!" (Sounds like a dodgy invitation now) Badges. I was gutted at not meeting him, thankfull now. Would rip his autograph page out of the book only on the reverse is the bulk of the mid 80's West Indies Cricket team.

Hope it's a sarcastic prison warden - "There's a bunk bed, there's yer loo, there's yer window with bars on it....can you tell what it is yet."

Just the RSPCA charges to come now for cruelty to Kangaroos. And as for the "Extra leg" excuse, that was never going to stand up in court.

And regarding Mr Benn, clearly just hallucinogenic drug related, going into a back room, a shifty guy appears and then fighting dragons, winning balloon races etc.

And since there's no more Zippy since the voice actor Skelton died (also did Dalek voices) or George since Tony Benn died focus should shift to Bungle, a bear who sleeps with Geoffrey Hayes and goes around naked all day in the winter but then puts shorts on if it's hot?

Oh yes people have said Mr Benn seemed a bit dodgy, and I may have to watch him on youtube, as I haven't seen him in over 10 years.

No more Zippy ? :( and Bubgle always seemed dodgy to me.

And I remember when I found out that jimmy krankie was really a woman and not a cheeky boy :(

Reading reports that a 73 year old who is an ' absolute darling' of the BBC has now been arrested...

A lot of speculation on the web that it's Cliff Richard.
