The School Run

Not surprising really. In a nation where neither the media nor the police command or deserve an ounce of respect, they can expect negative reactions when they invade people's private lives and try to tell them what they should and shouldn't be doing.

What a cvnt.

I think the most telling thing is that they repeated it at pick up time, and only one offence was recorded as word had got round, so they clearly knew the rules, were just being too lazy to follow them in the first place.

We live just around the corner from a Primary School and all the parking restrictions are totally ignored. There's space to park on our road but parents are simply too lazy to walk  couple of hundred yards.

It's OK disagreeing with the rules but there is no need to be abusive. After all they are being told to increase the safety of their children. All it takes is a 'Sorry officer thank you for pointing it out.'

Sounds a lot better and makes it possible for the police to do their job quicker leaving more time to catch 'real criminals'

Worst drivers out there. It is unbelieveable how much easier my job gets when schools are on holiday, driving is a breeze.

Tbh I dont know what might be going on in his life so not gonna judge.

So if you're having a bad day you've got the right to pass it on?

Agree with Trav! Drivers on the school run are the worst drivers!! I have to pass a couple of schools on my way to work and the risks parents take to try and drop there kids off is ridiculous!!!

Ridiculous comment, yeh let's just let everyone make their own rules up shall we. If you daughter was hit by a car near a school you wouldn't be saying something so stupid. You really are an idiot Mooseface.

He's right, though.

What is the role of the police if it's not to enforce the law? If you look at the photo, the guy is on the zig-zag markings at the school gates. It's not as if he was some way down the road.

That wasn't a policeman, it was a grubby journalist ramming a camera in someone's face. The guy clearly wasn't reacting angrily to the concept of his daughters safety, more the blatant invasion of his privacy and odious moral high ground stance of the "reporter".

As for the police well, they say in the article, "we've got other things to do" and yet there they are hanging around school gates proactively seeking out minor misdemeanors to charge.

This is blatant profiteering from both the police and the media, using the safety of young children as a proxy through which to issue fines and get footage of pissed off reactions respectively.

If you can't see who the real scumbags are in this scenario then I feel sorry for you, truly.

I can, it's the foul mouthed twat who has scant regard for the law, the safety of his own child and others.

Yes the police have better things to do, but unfortunately twats like him are forcing them to come down to school gates and sort out irresponsible law breakers after complaints from the public of people breaking the law.

As for the journalist, they are reporting the news and hopefully people will see it and start respecting the zig zag lines outside the school so the police don't have to waste their time going round to every school to enforce this rule, that is there to protect children.

Maybe I'm watching a different video to everyone else. I see someone with a camera making life very difficult for a guy doing the school run. The child is not wearing a seatbelt, as presumably she had only just entered the car. My impression is that they guy had just picked her up and was moving slowly away from the school gates so as not to cause further congestion, and once he got out and onto the road he would have made the child put on her seatbelt. But before he could do that a stranger has opened his car door and started accusing him of all sorts while shining a camera directly at him and the child. If a stranger did that to me while I was trying to drive I wouldn't be particularly welcoming either. It's a blatant invasion of privacy. Once again I'm gobsmacked by how supposedly left wing posters can forget their principles so easily. No wonder you're so worried about the things like marketing, you seem to have no real conviction in your beliefs whatsoever.

As for the police, well they're just pathetic. These 'crimes' don't warrant a police force. If anything, install a camera, monitor it and fine drivers that way. Actually policing school gates like this is wrong on numerous levels. If they haven't got real crimes to fight, sack them and spend the money on something worthwhile.

Lay off journalists. They are just doing a job.

Yeah ok ken, tell that to the phone hacking victims. Journalists are leeches, always seeking to create drama for their own benefit. They are some of the scummiest people on the planet.

I live near there, the main reason the police are there is because of fights breaking out from Crown Hills secondary school.

And now as their are no fights anymore and they have nothing better to do, they take out little things like this.

I see a guy being an arrogant sod who doesn't give a toss and just want to do things his way with no regard to his fellow humans The child is not wearing a seatbelt, as presumably she had only just entered the car. She is quite clearly getting OUT of the car My impression is that they guy had just picked her up and was moving slowly away from the school gates so as not to cause further congestion,  He shouldn't have been in front of the school gates at all, no matter for how long and once he got out and onto the road Slamming the brakes on to avoid other idiots doing the school run? he would have made the child put on her seatbelt Oh, too late... But before he could do that a stranger has opened his car door and started accusing him of all sorts while shining a camera directly at him and the child.
