Harry - LCFC Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Do not blame that brilliant young man! One mistake amongst a superb season, we wouldn't have been in the POs if it hadn't been for his numerous contributions! DON'T SELL KNOCKAERT!
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 I've never blamed Knocky. Not once. I blame those who let him take it.
Lasty Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 It's still a good point though. Watch and learn Knocko. Or better still, leave it to the big boys eh.
Corky Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 I've never blamed Knocky. Not once. I blame those who let him take it. We didn't have a designated, or usual, penalty-taker on the pitch. Any taker would've been a huge risk.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 We didn't have a designated, or usual, penalty-taker on the pitch. Any taker would've been a huge risk. Exactly. We went into such a big game and didnt designate a penalty taker? C'mon... Basics
suffolk fox Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 It's a valid point to make that is how you take a penalty. Justice was done today at least that cheating team full of loanees did not win and Casseti giving away the penalty today as well ha ha.
Corky Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Some said he was too old. Couldn't disagree more, exactly the sort of player I'd love on the bench to bring on. He's done it enough times against us to show first-hand what he's capable of.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Palace have Phillips on the bench while we have Vardy
kingfox Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Why on earth didn't we sign him My Dad has said the same thing for about 10 years. Absolutely loves the bloke.
Matt Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 We didn't have a designated, or usual, penalty-taker on the pitch. Any taker would've been a huge risk. In game that could potentially go to penalties? Worrying, very worrying.
Bettsj2 Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 I dont think a pro footballer needs to see another player score a penalty to know how to take one. Players miss penalties. Get the **** over it.
dayday Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 I think Philips was quite fortunate,Almunia nearly saved it.
Guest ttfn Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 I think Philips was quite fortunate,Almunia nearly saved it. No keeper in the world was saving that penalty.
jamesmilner Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 We didn't have a designated, or usual, penalty-taker on the pitch. Any taker would've been a huge risk. your comment basically calls pearson an amateur ! we should have even if it was pearson himself ! bad organisation !
gazfox9 Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 We didn't have a designated, or usual, penalty-taker on the pitch. Any taker would've been a huge risk. We didn't have a designated, or usual, penalty-taker on the pitch. Any taker would've been a huge risk. Totally agree. Games pan out in different ways. This one ended up that Wood, Marshall and Gally werent on the pitch. I'd back most of the squad to score penalties all day everyday in training. What you can't replicate on the training pitch is the pressure, tension, atmosphere or nerves.......just ask Waddle, Pearce, Ince, Batty, Southgate, Vassell,Beckham, Terry, Young..........
Guest Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 What makes you think we didn't have a designated penalty taker? Who would admit to it after the game and pile even more misery of Knocky? A player missed a penalty -BIG DEAL, happens all the time. And, yes, we should have signed Phillips long ago.
ACF Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 So what would we have done if it went to a penalty shootout?
paulsherwood1 Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 So what would we have done if it went to a penalty shootout? Exactly! Shakey said we had practices pens before the game. How anyone can blame knockaert is beyond me! Even when your nominated penalty taker is not on the pitch the manager should have another one nominated. It's basic management.
Jace Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 I thought it was a decent penalty for a Leicester City play off match lets face it the days of Garry Parker are long gone
foxfanazer Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 How do people k ow that Knockaert wasn't the designated penalty taker? Completely pointless arguement imo! Players miss penalties, simple! Everyone's a football manager in hindsight aren't they
