Corky Posted 25 June 2013 Author Posted 25 June 2013 Our reserve team, reserve bowlers being smacked around the park. The next game will be more interesting (not by much) because KP will play.
purpleronnie Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Some of the bowling has been shocking Bopara and tredwell went for 64 off 4 overs.
marko Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I'm surprised we got that close. I was expecting to finish on about 135/8.
dogadug Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 England in trouble against Ireland. Currently 25-3 in reply to 270 On sky sports 2 for anyone who's interested
Guest MattP Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Put a woeful side out for this one. Carberry might have done well in T20 but he isnt an international cricketer and the bowling attack is still piss without Swann, Anderson and Broad in any format.
Renart Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Hmmm. My partner is Irish (and doesn't understand or care for cricket) and so is her brother (obviously). This will be the second time that I will attempt to explain to them about a weakened side, form of the game, rested players.... I can't be bothered and I come across like a sulking teenager.... They revel in the fact that they 'know nothing about cricket', 'surprised that/didn't know that Ireland even had a cricket team', 'aren't you supposed to be good at this game'. The Irish papers went mad for it last time. Not least because the Irish population 'know nothing about cricket', 'were surprised that they even had a cricket team' and think of it as a historical symbol of Englishness and, therefore, repression - hence it was termed the 'Garrison game' (played by British forces) and was band, along with other non-Irish sports, by the GAA. As my Girlfriend's brother says 'the fact that we don't care about the sport makes it even better that we beat you' - the implication being that it must hurt as 'the game means so much to you'. Give me strength. The texts from him have started - for someone who doesn't care he sure does know a lot about what is going on
Guest MattP Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Typical Paddies that, they claim to know nothing and they are all secretly watching, it was on in O Neills and Mollys during the World Cup and it suddenly became the focal point of everyone when they had a chance of winning. Just backed England here at 7/4, big price, rr is still very achievevable and we bat all the way down to ten, Buttler could murder these boundaries.

Morgan and Bopara going along nicely.

You should tell him to wait until it's a result next time. Very good from both Morgan and Bopara.
Guest MattP Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Didn't expect it to be that easy. Super partnership.

AjcW Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Shows how interested we are in ODI's on here, there was a game the other day and not a single post! In other news... Samit Patel is desperate to be back in the England squad and feels he's been hard done by..... He looks like he's eaten James Taylor on sky now!!!!
Corky Posted 9 September 2013 Author Posted 9 September 2013 The team selection showed they weren't that bothered, so why should the fans be?
Guest MattP Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 The selection is appalling isn't it, I wouldn't be happy had I shelled out £100 for a ticket for this.
purpleronnie Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 What a great game!!!! Well played England!

I am Rod Hull Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 Another cracker. SL post 138/1 from 23 overs before the rain comes and that wonderful D/L method gives NZ a target of 198 from 23... http://www.espncricinfo.com/sri-lanka-v-new-zealand-2013-14/engine/current/match/668963.html
Guest MattP Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 Beat me to it Rod! 3 sixes off the last balls to win a match. Incredible.
Voll Blau Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Dernbach still getting a game in T20s! He must have walked in on someone shagging in the Long Room at Lord's to blackmail his way into the team for this long.
