For people that play 4-2-3-1 does it work well for you?

 

I have a lot of good attacking players mainly in the AMRLC sort of roles across the three so it doesnt make sense for me to play with DMs. But i am shocking at the back, honestly have to score three to win a game, i concede from set pieces lots too despite having his on my training focus. Any thing i can do to help this? I've fiddled with tactics everything :(

My Monaco save is similar, if I play with 2 DMs I don't score enough and still concede a lot.

Ideall i like the 4-4-2 best but i dont have the players for it as i said, but its weird because if you look at most the top teams on the game they all play 4-2-3-1 so why do they not have this probelm

442 is my most familiar but it just gets overrun, I might change to 41221 that seems to be successful as well.

i have never been succesful with it, until this save. but even now its not consistent. i play with wide player like this

It works for me but possibly only because I just try and smash the opposition. Not fussed about possession or defending, just lots of direct play and chances.

 

Depends what players I have playing but usually i'll have the 4-2-3-1 as CM's (one support and one advanced playmaker or one deep lying and one attack for example).

The 4-2-3-1 will be two inside forwards (attack) an one AMC (attack or support).

I'll usually have my striker playing as an Advance forward.

Might play with complete wingbacks against weaker teams as well.

I swear it doesn't matter what formation you play, because I still concede a lot. I play 4231, generally because if I only play 4 in midfield then I get overrun. Especially against the likes of Everton, United, City, Arsenal etc.

The one struggling with defending - you tried setting your training focus to defensive positioning?

 

I'm 8th, big gap between 7th and 8th so it'd take a brilliant run to get into Europe. I have however beaten PSG at home 2-1 :D

 

But they won here 0-4 in the league cup semis, however... I'm in the French equivalent to the FA Cup quarters and have Valenciennes at home, that could go either way. Finishing top half and getting to the semis in both cups would be a superb season.

good way to look at it dan, im of the opinion in my games that failure to achieve promotion is a crap season

Anyway just checked out the Bundesliga and it turns out Bayern have won the last 46 league titles. I'll take a pic when I can!

Just destroyed Nantes at home. Malfleury wanted silly money so I've agreed to release him and he's joining some utter shite in Belgium that I've never heard of. How can they pay the wages I couldn't? Of course he's started bagging for fun now he's leaving. Nobhead.

if i set a players individual training to role, rather than attribute, will i see an increase in the highlighted attributes or do i have to do them individually?

A lot of their team isn't, the beauty is in their bank balance.

 

Their defence is dire.

 

Just scored a late 30 yarder to grab a draw at home to Marseille. This season, despite being impressive, is petering out into nothingness really.

When it goes a whole game with virtually no highlights it does piss me off. Or like you say when you're losing and leave like one defender back and there isn't a highlight either way?! At least the old games had the keepers going up etc.

Im also convinced subs and tactical decisions take longer to happen too. Sometimes like 8-10 mins after you confirmed it!

 

Ever since you mentioned this I've kept an eye out.

 

I 'made' a substitution in the 78th minute. Confirmed it. Play went on for a few mins which is understandable. Opponents make a sub in 83rd min. Where's my sub? Why is my guy not coming on? Comes on in 86th minute instead?! What's up with that? Luckily it had no bearing on the result, but it's a frustrating thing with the game!

Got a 15 year old Bulgarian kid that's come through the youth team. He's only just signed a professional contract and already I've got Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs offering me £3.5m!

Looks like he could turn out to be world class, think I'll hold on to him :)
