Collymore Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I have just thought that the person who has caused us to be in a right shit state, due to a ridiculous wage and fee billl is Sven. FFP has come into play and we can't sign anyone and need to be shrewd because of Sven's legacy. We now need someone with contacts who can get free agents In and pursuade them that LCFC is the right choice - we needs some with respect and reputation in the game... Sounds like Sven is the man... Hang on a minute!!!!
Dan Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Sven's only tool of persuading people that we're the right choice was money, we're running low on it at the minute, so it sort of doesn't work.
Alf Bentley Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 I sense déjà vu. Déjà vu ain't what it used to be .... same thing with nostalgia.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 In other news- did you hear that Michael Jackson has died?
Jordan Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 Thinking back, there was something about the Svennis circus that was kind of fun... Then again, I wasn't the one spending millions of pounds on that circus. Leicester were seriously being linked to David Beckham by major news outlets that ought to have known better. We were the B-list celebrity of the English leagues. SGE wasn't completely useless as Leicester's manager. Despite a few crap signings, he had the team playing at a playoff spot pace in the league during his time here. I'd also say the owners were as desperate to splash cash as he was. You live and you learn. Let's all at the least concede, though, that Yakubu on loan was ****ing classic. That slow, fat **** bagged 11 in 20 appearances--probably a rate he hadn't hit since his childhood--and is easily one of my favorite City players in recent history. What a beast.

Fox92 Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 Sven's 'name' got us the likes of Kyle Naughton, Curtis Davies, Diomansy Kamara and Yukubu. Four of the better players I've seen play for Leicester in recent times. I'd take them all now, however, they all came with a massive massive price - I mean, I've read somewhere we paid a £750,000 loan fee for Yakubu No thanks, I'll pass. Plus we can't afford it anyway due to prior Pearson which is obviously influencing his ability to bring in players of his own. Then people moan 'we aint buying nobody, we are going down'.

Davies was average at best and crap at other times, and Kamara came in as a "renowned premiership striker" then only scored 2 in 7. Compared to the Yak and Naughton, they were both lacklustre loan signings. That said, Pearson's loanees since he returned have been hit and miss too. Keane has been great, but Harry Kane was suspect despite a couple of goals, and as for Jesse Lingaard - what did he do exactly?
