Watford are a joke

The irony is so painful, it seems a shame to point it out.

The difference between our owner and your owner is that our club is our owners number 1 priority. Where as Watford are just a little club on the side that he can use to help his main  priority club Udinese grow

Isn't it getting a bit boring now.

Shall we just wait and see what happens...

I accept it was actually a Palace fan (what has he got to complain about!) who started this thread.

I aint complaining fair play to Watford's owners for exploiting a loop hole we should do the same with our affiliated club Thai Army United but sadly are owners haven't realized it yet.

Watford are doing nothing wrong.

They're being given players. Given them

They don't have to compete for these players by bidding for them, they don't have to compete for them by demonstrating that they'd be a good club to play at. They are able to avoid having to battle it out in the transfer market and thus have an enormous advantage over other clubs. It is immensely easy to build a squad when you don't even have to compete.

To give you an analogy on what this is like: Football Manager. I don't know if you play it at all but I understand it's possible to own two teams and simply ship a load of players from one to another at no cost. This is essentially what Watford are doing - no competition whatsoever.

If we win the league then you'll be right that we've gained an unfair advantage but a lot of you guys have said we won't go up in the predictions league.

Probably before you have made all these signings you should easily make the playoffs/automatic promotion.

When justice is still to be achieved, especially on this huge scale, then no amount of rhetoric to support it should be labelled boring. What Watford are doing is wrong and I support anyone who wants to speak out against their actions no matter how many dull and repetitive pages this thread takes up.

And if you think that when you consider how much more money there is in the Premiershyte compared to Serie A you are more than slightly fuzzy in your thinking.

They have an average attendance of 13453. How can they possibly afford to be bringing in all these players under the FFP rules?

Average ticket price : £20

Average Attendance : 13453

= £269060 per match

50 games a season average = £13 million a year

Somebody please explain to me how that covers all of their players wages they've got in for the year + transfers

They are either paying their players peanuts, or something really doesn't add up

Udinese probably give them money so that they comply with FFP! Usually where they turn instead of standing up on their own!

If it's true that Udinese and Granada are signing players and then instanty shipping them out to Watford then thats the loophole that needs to be closed A.S.A.P.

Watford are getting quality players while bypassing the FFP regulations and that, in my eyes, is cheating.

It's within the rules if you ask their unbiased fans. Expect to be asked how we can comment considering we've spent a lot and expect to be reminded of Knockaert's penalty. Their fanbase are a thorough embarrassment.

Fair enough but it was known a while back.

We'll see - I'd certainly hope to finish as we did last season but go one better!

So your club is your owners No1 priority and have made how many signings?... mmm none.  Watford are not No 1 priority? ..... how many signings so far...8 doesn't sound like a club on the side to me.

If we win the league then maybe its going to be seen as unfair but do you think we will because others didn't fancy our chances that highly...

Just browsing through the Watford forum and it looks as though you are constantly ripped to shreds, how does that make you feel?

That was because I was trying to be reasonable in debating this rather than just being a WUM...

Odd that you choose to attack one of the few Watford fans who is trying to have a decent debate.

The bit in bold is where you are mistaken. These players are signing permanent contracts with Watford. There is nothing that forces them to do that, any more than they could be ordered to sign a contract with Leicester City FC. The ones that are signing on want to sign on.

Anyone who isn't arsed about no-marks being given handouts whilst in the same league is kidding themselves. Farce of a situation and you lot actually defending it are laughable.

The Pozzo's work in a completely different way to any other owner in the world, as far as I know. There is no Udinese B or C. In fact, Udinese players are not even Udinese players. They are the Pozzo's players. The Pozzo's invest a massive amount of money each year into their scouting system, so they can buy the best talent at the lowest price, and then develop them and sell them for the highest price. But the problem was that some players suited Spanish football, or English football; they were limiting who they could buy (and wasting their scouting money) as some didnt suit Italian football. So now they have bought a club in each country, with players to be exchanged around to the club which will best suit their development (whilst keeping a core of local players at each club so that they not lose our identity). You may call them handouts, but they have been extensively scouted and bought cheaply when young, and played in an environment with good football so they can move on to the next level. Pretty f**king clever eh.
