superhorns Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 The Pozzo's work in a completely different way to any other owner in the world, as far as I know. There is no Udinese B or C. In fact, Udinese players are not even Udinese players. They are the Pozzo's players. The Pozzo's invest a massive amount of money each year into their scouting system, so they can buy the best talent at the lowest price, and then develop them and sell them for the highest price. But the problem was that some players suited Spanish football, or English football; they were limiting who they could buy (and wasting their scouting money) as some didnt suit Italian football. So now they have bought a club in each country, with players to be exchanged around to the club which will best suit their development (whilst keeping a core of local players at each club so that they not lose our identity). You may call them handouts, but they have been extensively scouted and bought cheaply when young, and played in an environment with good football so they can move on to the next level. Pretty f**king clever eh. I think we are all happy, watford fans can watch super flowing footy and Leicester fans can watch hoof ball whilst playing with their clappers!!

Danno Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Awww, poor Lesta fans getting bothered about tinpot club Why you on our forum then, if you're not bothered?
harrowhorn Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Why you on our forum then, if you're not bothered? Obviously it is an HONOUR to be debating the issues of the day with the MAHUSSIVE Leicester City fans.
KFS Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Why you on our forum then, if you're not bothered? Obviously it is an HONOUR to be debating the issues of the day with the MAHUSSIVE Leicester City fans. I think we've found the culprit of the lad on their forum branding us as self centred fans, BEFORE we even met them in the playoffs.Lads, it's so sunny outside, please give your pupils a rest!
Ashley Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Why are Watford fans being such cvnts at the end of the day you're a pathetic club always have been always have been forever in the shadows of Luton on and of the field of play. Would love to see them crumble again this season and Cassetti give yet another penalty away
Arakel Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Every team in this league would gladly take our 8 signings on a free from Udinese. Anyone who says otherwise is flat out lying. It's not the fact we're doing it that bothers anyone; it's the fact that their team can't. Reading things like "lost their identity blah blah blah" makes us laugh, because most of us feel more engaged and involved with the club over the last 12 months than we have in a long time. Our players really want to be here, our squad morale is bloody brilliant, and we're watching the team play a brilliant style of football with goals galore. We've got competent owners who have a long term plan for the club, and we're no longer owned by a multiple bankruptee who was steering the club towards financial meltdown. What's not to like?
kingfox Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Really enjoying reading my Watford book. Just completed Chapter 4 on Graham Taylor, very witty and banterish. That's why I enjoyed it so much.

Would love to see them crumble again this season and Cassetti give yet another penalty away That's not going to help! Why don't you just ignore each other and wait till November when we met where the "banter" can start all over again... This thread rather sums up why some football fans have the reputation they do...
Arakel Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Why are Watford fans being such cvnts at the end of the day you're a pathetic club always have been always have been forever in the shadows of Luton on and of the field of play. We can only aspire to the giddy heights of the (Blue Square) Premier League and the Johnston's Paint Trophy. Oh, wait...they don't qualify for the Johnston's Paint Trophy anymore. Whoops.
Ashley Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 We can only aspire to the giddy heights of the (Blue Square) Premier League and the Johnston's Paint Trophy. Oh, wait...they don't qualify for the Johnston's Paint Trophy anymore. Whoops. See what I mean about Watford fans being cvnts? You know what happened to Luton is wrong from the football league. They are in the better club in my opinion, better fans, better history. What is happening with Watford is wrong in so many ways and non of your fans can admit it.
Super_horns Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Well they broke rules on a number of occasions - they got deducted 30 points for 2 different incidents including paying agents illegally plus for going into administration (again) Other teams lost big points but have done ok. Think Bournemouth lost 17 one season...it doesn't excuse them still being in non-league as you say with a healthy supporter base. They have won a trophy but then so have Oxford...
Ashley Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Really despise The Football League, The FA, Watford Fc & the Pozzos. Udinese & Granada buy players for Watford, 'sell' the players to Watford on 'frees' to avoid the foreign loophole. Disgusting. All other clubs have to work within these rules so why should Watford be free to do what they want? Also may I add excellent transfer embargo they have.

Watford got from Division 4 to Division 1 in four/five season's. Runners up in the first division, FA Cup runners up, been in the UEFA Cup, couple of Championship play-off victories & are currently in the Championship right now. Luton best finish in Division 1 was 7th, also FA Cup runners up but in the 50's, and are currently in the Conference. Why should Watford fans admit anything, I bet they are laughing and absolutely loving it, they are getting quality players like Abdi for peanuts. Udinese & Granada buy players for Watford, Only one.
The Doctor Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 I think we are all happy, watford fans can watch super flowing footy and Leicester fans can watch hoof ball whilst playing with their clappers!! So, you missed the first half of the season where we were playing beautiful football and tearing several teams a new one (even Cardiff - that home defeat was a travesty, Marshall pretty much kept them in it single handedly)? It's really amusing how uppity you lot have got - you're a nothing club who've suddenly got themselves a few new play-things thanks to some very shady dealings and all of a sudden you're acting like footballing gods. Grow the **** up sonny and look at what's going on behind the scenes, because there's no way you can be sustaining these sorts of players under FFP with your attendances and sponsorship deals: You're not big enough to command multi-million pounds sponsorships (as far as clubs go, we're far bigger than you and it's only due to vested interests (being sponsored by our owners company) that we can get a fair bit in on that front) , nor do you pack the ground to the rafters to be able to make a shed load on matchdays: something dodgy is going on, be it player wages, shifting various debts around the clubs or something else.

I merely pointed out that saying we're in the shadow of them, on field or off, is utter bollocks. I made no comments whatsoever regarding what happened to them as a club. Feel free to invent whatever story you like, though.

kingfox Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 Who is that? Acuna was out of contract They obviously brought him though, just to sell him on to Watford.
Arakel Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 there's no way you can be sustaining these sorts of players under FFP with your attendances and sponsorship deals Oh, there is. For a start, you're ignoring the fact we released 7 players, leaving us with a squad of 15, prior to the new signings coming in. I believe our squad size is now about 28, including youth/development members. You're not big enough to command multi-million pounds sponsorships (as far as clubs go, we're far bigger than you and it's only due to vested interests (being sponsored by our owners company) that we can get a fair bit in on that front) Inflated sponsorship deal from the people who own your club...smells like evading FFP restrictions to me. nor do you pack the ground to the rafters to be able to make a shed load on matchdays: something dodgy is going on, be it player wages, shifting various debts around the clubs or something else. What's going on is simple mathematics. At 20,000 a week, Di Natale is Udinese's highest paid player. Everyone else is below that. You have players who earn more than Di Natale. Similarly, most of our first team are more highly paid then those we just signed.
Arakel Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 They obviously brought him though, just to sell him on to Watford. Acuna was signed by Udinese to stop other clubs signing him before we could clear the paperwork through the Regulation 19 Embargo were are under. A Regulation 19 embargo is not a full embargo, it merely means we have to present all paperwork for transfers to the FL for inspection, so that they can ensure we aren't performing any more Bassini-style dodgy deals...which clearly we're not. As long as the paperwork is in order, the transfer WILL go through. It's not a blockade on registering any new players, despite what the clueless media report. The information is in a publicly available report, but none of the media outlets bothered to read it. Investigative journalism is dead. We didn't benefit from Udinese signing Acuna, other than the fact that we might have lost out on him otherwise.
Moosedog Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 They obviously brought him though, just to sell him on to Watford. Maybe that is why your club loses money if they buy players that are out of contract
stix Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 If the size of clubs is measured in success on the pitch then Leicester is very much smalltime. Leicester & Watford?
AKCJ Posted 19 July 2013 Posted 19 July 2013 If the size of clubs is measured in success on the pitch then Leicester is very much smalltime. I can honestly sympathise with you guys always being the ugly bridesmaid that nobody picks despite daddy shelling out lots of dosh. Maybe you need a facelift or two?

Similarly, most of our first team are more highly paid then those we just signed. You may have released 7 players, but you've still got a 28 man squad to pay who were on serie A wages, while your ticket sales - well... Average attendance: 13453. Assume averaging £20 a ticket: £269,060 per match. 23 home matches in a season: £6,188,380. Assume you take 2.5k everywhere (and you're nowhere near that well backed) at again £20 a ticket: another 50,000 per match: 23 away games: £1.15m. That's roughly £7.3m from ticket sales per year (bit more from cups, but that is incredibly fluid - depends on how far you get, who you draw etc.) and a weekly wage budget of 141k. Or 7 Di Natale's. In 2011 the average championship wage was 4k p/w. Factor in inflation and that's 4.1k. So - 28 players at an average 4.1k wage: 115k p/w on players. Leaving 26k to cover manager, coaching staff, scouts, groundsmen, match day staff, ticket office/club shop staff... That's bloody tight to the line, and certainly spending far too much of your turn over on wages. Unless of course you've got them well on the cheap in which case... oh, we're back at the exploitation of the multiple ownership nonsense again. Erm, not really - it came in before FPP and was essentially a way to maximise exposure for King Power. It provides us with an extra method of money from the chairmen now, but that wasn't the original intent. If the size of clubs is measured in success on the pitch then Leicester is very much smalltime. I can honestly sympathise with you guys always being the ugly bridesmaid that nobody picks despite daddy shelling out lots of dosh. Maybe you need a facelift or two? Yep - 5 FA cup finals, 3 League Cups, only one season outside the top two flights in 129 years, statistically the 22nd most successful club in terms of premier league performance (1992-present), 20th most successful club in terms of performance from post-war to the folding of the first division, 47 top flight seasons (25th throughout England). So small-time, please humble us with your mighty erm... 1 FA cup final and 8 top flight seasons in 132 years. Jog the **** on, if we're small time then you are tiny.
